There was a lot of controversy on Monday Night Raw that aired last night over the abrupt ending of a fight. Mickie James was in the middle of an Asuka Lock and was about to break free when the official rang the bell!

Shocked, James looked at him with confused eyes, and so did the rest of the WWE Universe.

The ring announcer then revealed that Mickie James was unable to compete anymore.

The way Mickie looks at the ref I was like ohhhhh shit????

Terrible ending to a great match. #WWERaw

The baffling part about this is that Mickie was fit and fine. There was nothing wrong with her, yet the referee ended the match. The moment had the Montreal Incident written all over it, and fans joked about this on Twitter.

However, WWE has not released a statement explain ing the decision. The company is avoiding this and is probably trying to cover up for the mistake.

The event was briefly mentioned in WWE’s Raw match review that released a short while ago. According to the reason there, Mickie James was “unable to continue”.

It is obvious now that the call was a botch and that the match should not have ended. We were seeing some of the best wrestling action from two very talented individuals before the ending ruined it all.

WWE fans backed Mickie James for one last title run

Mickie James has had a legendary career in WWE. She has managed to topple some of the most dominant Champions at the biggest stages. She had a lot of fan-backing to do it one last time before it all blew up.

The chance has come and gone, and Mickie sadly won’t have the fairytale last title run that she deserves. We may get a continuation of the feud, although this is unlikely.

Mickie even reacted to the entire thing on Instagram, which made fans even more upset about how things ended.

We do not know what WWE has next in store for Mickie James. She inarguably has a few more good years left and could do very well with another title run. WWE has given titles to a lot of older Superstars, so I don’t see how Mickie James would be much of a problem as a Champion.

WWE Superstar Injured Leading to a Controversial Ending at Clash of Champions

The WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match at Clash of Champions clearly ended on a confusing note. The Street Profits put their Tag Team Titles on the line against Angel Garza and Andrade. The latter were moving forward with the aim to prove that they can achieve just as much without Zelina Vega’s services.

However, the Superstars in question were not happy with what went down at the end of the match. In fact, even the Raw Tag Champions looked confused despite winning the match.

Angelo Dawkins is not hiding that he’s pissed off with that finish at all. Clearly looking at the ref furious before WWE cut to highlights. #WWEClash

Both the teams gave their all in the match. With numerous near falls and false finishes, they had the audiences on their toes.

There was a point when Angelo Dawkins pinned Angel Garza following a powerbomb. Even though Garza kicked out, the referee stopped the match. The bell rang upon the referee’s signal and The Street Profits were declared the winners.

Even though the bell rang, almost everyone who was watching the match did not agree with the decision. The fact that Angelo Dawkins, who secured the win, was confused with the decision speaks volumes about the ending of the match.

WWE clarifies the Raw Tag Team Title match decision

Initially, fans thought was that it was a botched decision. Now, it has come to light that the referee threw up the ‘X’ because Angel Garza suffered an injury.

The RAW Tag Team Championship match ends with the referee throwing up the ‘X’ – it looks like Angel Garza suffered an injury.

Let’s hope he’s okay #WWEClash

Hence, even if the ending did not make the Superstars happy, it is possible that the ending was required to ensure Garza did not end up with a worsened injury.

As I’ve seen many people mention, it may well have been his knee. The way he collapsed off the strike look all wrong.

Fingers crossed for Garza!

Essentially, this match could have gone either way. Therefore, the WWE Universe was divided over the referee’s decision. Considering the way the match ended, the storyline between the two teams might build up to another match.
