LSU football: Potential landing spots for JaMarr Chase in 2021 NFL Draft

Ja’Marr Chase dominated in 2019 but opted-out of LSU football in 2020. So where will the stud wide receiver land in the 2021 NFL Draft?
There’s no question that wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase enjoyed suiting up for LSU football alongside Joe Burrow in the high-powered offense that helped the Tigers capture a National Championship. While Justin Jefferson led the team in receptions and yards, it was Chase who dominated in the end zone with a remarkable 20 touchdowns to his credit in the 2019 season.
With one year still remaining before he could enter the NFL Draft, though, there were questions about how Chase would perform without Burrow or offensive guru Joe Brady in Baton Rouge. As it turns out, we never got the answer to those questions as the highly touted wideout elected to opt-out of the 2020 season and prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Even without playing this past season for the LSU football program, though, many still consider Chase the top wide receiver in this draft class. While not the fastest or the biggest, his combination of polished route-running, deep speed, elite hands and physicality make him a true threat in every level of the field.
It remains to be seen if he will be the first wide receiver off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft but let’s take a look at some of the best possible landing spots for Ja’Marr Chase as he makes the leap to the professional ranks.
Ja’Marr Chase 2021 NFL Draft landing spot No. 5: New York GiantsThe jury is still out on New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones as to if he’s a bonafide franchise player for Big Blue. One thing hindering the assessment of the Duke product is the lack of receiving talent that’s been around him. There are names such as Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard and recently released Golden Tate but they’ve not been on the field consistently, nor have they performed consistently either.
Armed with the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Giants could finally give Jones a true top-tier target if they were to select Chase, assuming that he makes it to them. We don’t know if the New York front office believes that a wide receiver would be the biggest need to address with a top-six pick in the draft but, if they deem that the case, then adding someone of Chase’s caliber would make a ton of sense for their current situation offensively.
