We’d let Michael Che’s ugly joke last weekend pass, except it rests on multiple elements of vile anti-Israel propaganda.
Che took Israel’s universally admired success in and flipped it into a slur of racism, or maybe imperialism: “Israel is reporting that they’ve vaccinated half of their population,” he noted on the Weekend Update segment, and, “I’m going to guess it’s the Jewish half.”
For starters, Israel is (as you’d expect) a lot more than half Jewish. To see it otherwise, you have to include the population of the Palestinian territories — and so basically insist that Israel has no right to be the Jewish state it was founded as.
And, as the Israeli US ambassador Giald Erdan tweeted, “every citizen of Israel – Jewish, Muslim, Christian — is entitled” to the vaccine.
In fact, some 43 percent of Israeli Arabs had gotten jabbed when Che spoke. That lags the Jewish rate, but for a host of reasons — including Palestinian Authority propaganda that claims Jerusalem is experimenting on Arabs under the guise of immunization.
Che’s “joke” also captures the gist of the global left’s line, which calls Israel criminal for jabbing its own citizens but not those of the PA.
Problem is, the PA is responsible for health care on its own territory, and in fact its officials admitted to not asking Israel for help early on as they instead secured deals for the AstraZeneca and Russian Sputnik V vaccines.
Haters are going to hate, we guess, but do they have to try passing it off as comedy?

Jake Paul might be lined up for just his third professional prizefight in Aprile, but that apparently won’t keep the YouTuber-turned-boxer from taking aim at one of boxing’s biggest superstars. Paul had some important questions for Saul “Canelo” Alvarez over the weekend before labeling the boxing champ an “old hater” in his latest viral video rant.
“Canelo, what’s your problem, bro? Why do you hate me so much?…You’re an old hater. That’s what you are,” Paul said.

Paul Blames Alvarez: ‘You Wanted To Start This Beef’Paul was apparently reacting to Alvarez kicking two boxing fans wearing Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren t-shirts out of the ring during his post-fight interview over the weekend.
“Canelo, what’s your problem, bro? Why do you hate me so much?” Paul said.
Paul had also seen some of the other things Alvarez had said about him in past interviews.
“Canelo’s mad. He has this thing against me. He said I’m bad for the sport. I’m disrespecting it, which doesn’t make sense at all. I’m actually just bringing more eyeballs (and) more awareness to the sport of boxing,” Paul said.

Paul blasted Alvarez for having to renegotiate his contract with DAZN last year as well as his recent fight against Turkish challenger Avni Yildirim.
“Since Canelo, you wanted to start this beef, let’s do it. Bro, you’re made because DAZN had to renegotiate your contract because you weren’t selling enough. You’re mad because there’s someone new coming into the sport. You claim you’re the pound-for-pound best fighter but you’re fighting these guys from Turkey that no one has ever heard of. You were a -5000 favorite [in your last fight]. Why not fight Caleb Plant? David Benavidez? BooBoo Andrade? You’re ducking them. You’re ducking them, Canelo.”
That’s when Paul hit Alvarez with the hater label.
“You’re an old hater. That’s what you are,” Paul said.
