The cause of the crash is being investigated. The Los Angeles Times reported that Woods was traveling “at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle before crossing the center divider.” Woods was the only person in the car and had to be extricated from the wreckage, per the LA County Sherriff’s Department.
Justin Thomas, one of Woods’ closest friends on the PGA Tour, heard the news of the crash shortly before he appeared at a virtual press conference ahead of this week’s WGC-Workday Championship.
“I mean, I’m sick to my stomach,” Thomas said. “It hurts to see one of your closest friends get in an accident. Man, I just hope he’s all right. Just worry for his kids, you know. I’m sure they’re struggling.”
Thomas also posted a follow-up tweet, saying that he was “hoping for an amazing recovery.”
Sick to my stomach right now. Praying for @TigerWoods and hoping for an amazing recovery. Thinking about his entire family and team, as all of us are sending our best wishes. We know TW is a fighter. Get well soon ????!!!

“We have been made aware of Tiger Woods’ car accident today. We are awaiting further information when he comes out of surgery. On behalf of the PGA Tour and our players, Tiger is in our prayers and will have our full support as he recovers.”
Woods was in Los Angeles over the weekend to host The Genesis Invitational, and he was scheduled to stay in the area Monday and Tuesday for a Golf Digest shoot with former NBA star Dwyane Wade and comedian David Spade.

Polis released this statement about the vaccine, “I’m thrilled that a third safe and highly effective vaccine will soon arrive in Colorado. Having a vaccine that only requires one dose will help us move more quickly to end the pandemic, and I encourage the federal government to ramp up supply as quickly as possible. We are ready to use many more vaccine doses than we are currently receiving each week.”
The approval isn’t expected to boost vaccine supplies right away, only a few million doses are expected to be ready for shipping in the first week.
