By Rob Picheta| CNN Hearing the same holiday music over and over and over again, every year, has, until now, been solely a human struggle. But now dogs can join in the fun. A song that claims to be the first-ever Christmas single designed exclusively for canines has been released, and early footage suggests it’s getting a strong reaction from its four-legged listeners. “Raise the Woof” was created based on scientific research into the ways dogs interact with sound, and with input from animal behaviorists, according to dog food company Tails.com. It uses a reggae beat and sounds of bells, squeaky toys and owners’ instructions to elicit a response from listening dogs. Videos posted online showed dogs seemingly reacting to the high-frequency sounds. The company said the track was devised with the help of a focus group of 25 dogs, who were played more than 500 sounds and analyzed...

Savannah Rychcik November 22, 2020 0 Comments Operation Warp Speed Chief Science Adviser Dr. Moncef Slaoui is concerned the COVID-19 vaccine has been politicized. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos explained there is hesitancy among frontline workers to take the vaccine. He asked Slaoui what that means for the general population as there has been skepticism about the vaccine. “I’m very very concerned about the hesitancy as it exists and I think it’s very unfortunate because this has been exacerbated by the political context under which we have worked very hard with the companies and the thousands of people that have been involved to make these vaccines available,” Slaoui said. He argued the vaccines are “highly effective” and “as safe in the short term” as any of the vaccines that have been approved. In an interview with ABC News on Sunday, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie described President Donald Trump’s legal team as a “national embarrassment.” Speaking with This Week anchor George Stephanopoulos, Christie argued that Trump’s lawyers have failed to present convincing evidence to back up their claims, per a video clip shared via Twitter. “And what’s happened here is, quite frankly, the content of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment. Sidney Powell accusing Gov. Longtime Trump supporter Chris Christie said it was finally time for President Donald Trump’s attempt to overthrow the election results to end, calling out the president’s legal team as a “national embarrassment” for making outlandish and baseless claim of widespread voter fraud without presenting any evidence. In recent days, the president’s attorneys—plucked from right-wing media—have centered their strategy to flip the election to Trump by laying out an unhinged conspiracy theory that alleges Dominion voting software purposely stole millions of votes from Trump and gave them to President-elect Joe Biden. Trump attorney Sidney Powell, for instance, has claimed long-deceased Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez worked in conjunction with liberal philanthropist George Soros and the Clinton Foundation to swing the election to Biden. During Sunday morning’s broadcast of ABC News’ This Week, anchor George Stephanopoulos noted that nearly all of the president’s election lawsuits have been tossed out of court, including a...
Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that President Donald Trump’s legal team has been a “national embarrassment.” Anchor George Stephanopoulos said, “Last night we saw Pat Toomey, the Senator for Pennsylvania say it’s time for the president to enable this transition. It’s time for the president to concede. The president’s response was to attack Pat Toomey on Twitter. Is it finally time for this to end? Christie said, “Yes, and here’s the reason why. The president has had an opportunity to access the courts, and I said to you starting at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, if you have got the evidence of fraud, present it. Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly revealed that he is not ready to recognize Joe Biden as the winner of the US presidential election.  Biden was announced president-elect two weeks ago in the election against President Donald Trump.  Trump has refused to concede and has ordered his team to file numerous claims of voter fraud against key states that cost him reelection.  Putin, who has yet to congratulate Biden on his victory, said on Russian state TV Sunday: 'We will work with anyone who has the confidence of the American people.' New York Giants: Just how great has Blake Martinez been at linebacker? By: Alexander Wilson November 22, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditWhen the New York Giants signed Blake Martinez to a three-year, $30 million contract, most were skeptical over the move. Having poor grades and inconsistent coverage abilities with Green Bay, nobody expected Martinez to be one of the Giants’ best players through 10 weeks. He has been a leader on defense and one of their premier playmakers for Patrick Graham’s unit. This is Graham’s first year as the Giants’ defensive coordinator, and his unit currently ranks in the top 10  for points allowed per game. They are one of the best run-stopping teams in the league, and Martinez has played a significant part in that metric. While he had his worst game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 10, missing several tackles...

There are many hardships facing Indian soldiers posted to the icy Himalayan hilltops along the disputed border with China. But no one expected this.  One moment, they felt healthy and alert, eyes peeled for signs of their aggressive neighbour’s troops. Then, within less than a minute, they began to vomit almost simultaneously, as if struck down by a violent stomach bug. The soldiers’ bodies grew weak, with some barely able to stand, and they fled, leaving the hilltops open for units of Chinese soldiers to move in and occupy. Not a shot had been fired. This mysterious encounter in August had remained almost completely unknown until last week when – in a lecture to students at Renmin University in Beijing – Chinese professor Jin Canrong disclosed not only the event itself, but the secret weapon responsible. Savannah Rychcik November 19, 2020 0 Comments Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is weighing in on where lawmakers stand with COVID-19 relief negotiations. During a press conference on Thursday, Schumer revealed when relief talks will resume. “There’s a little bit of good news, as of today. As you know, I’ve been eager to sit down with Leader McConnell, Speaker Pelosi, to have some discussions and leader McConnell for months has resisted that,” Schumer said. He argued McConnell put forth a bill lacking funding for hospitals and state and local governments. Schumer called it an “emaciated bill filled with poison pills.” “They’ve agreed to sit down, and the staffs are going to sit down today or tomorrow to try to begin to see if we can get a real good Covid relief bill. So there’s been a little bit of a breakthrough in that McConnell’s folks are...
The Pasco Sheriff's Office in Florida has a secret list of over 400 students they believe could 'fall into a life of crime' based on factors like whether they have gotten a D or an F in school and whether they have been abused or disciplined at school.  Both state and federal law protect the records used by the sheriff's office to make the list, comprised of students from Pasco County high and middle schools. Authorities use data from both the Pasco County School District and the Department of Children and Families. Data from the district shows which students are struggling academically, have missed too many classes, or have been disciplined repeatedly at the schools. FDCF data shows which children have been either victims to abuse or witnesses to household violence. Parents of the students are completely unaware of their child's presence on the list, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Children also do...
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, by way of Ringside News, NXT superstar Rhea Ripley is reportedly set to receive a WWE main roster call-up. The Australian superstar failed to capture the NXT Women’s Championship from Io Shirai on the latest episode of the black-and-gold brand’s weekly show. Meltzer stated that the result indicated that Ripley is on the way up. It’s also worth noting that Shirai defeated Ripley in a clean fashion. Top performers losing in this manner is usually a sign that their NXT tenures are over. Ripley took the loss to make the champion look stronger, in turn further establishing Shirai as a top star in the process. Ripley has a storied history on the black-and-gold brand. Despite only joining the company in 2018, she has won the Women’s titles in NXT and its British offshoot. The superstar even competed against Charlotte Flair at...
Antonio Brown has been a “model citizen” since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday. Fact check: Doctors Without Borders has ended operations in U.S. Amazons Electronics gift guide Tank for Trevor? Adam Gase says tanking has never been mentioned among the Jets If the New York Jets go 0-16, it’s not because they were trying. They’re just that bad. The Jets are 0-9, with a clear path to a winless season. If the Jets lose every remaining game they will get the No. 1 overall pick. Assuming Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence doesn’t stay in school or try to pull a John Elway/Eli Manning and force a trade, the Jets would then draft one of the best quarterback prospects in decades. For a franchise that has been searching for a top-flight quarterback since Joe Namath, that’s a big deal. It’s easy to wonder if, organizationally, the Jets understand that getting Lawrence is far better than winning a game or two the rest...
Lewis Hamilton's winning streak has ended after losing a three-year copyright battle with luxury watchmaker Hamilton International. The Formula One world champion took action against the Swiss firm after it registered the name 'Hamilton' as a trademark, giving them exclusive rights to use the brand on accessories across Europe. Lawyers for the Mercedes star's company 44IP tried to void the application and claimed it had been filed in 'bad faith,' thwarted 'fair competition' and had not even been used. Hamilton International, part of the Swatch Group, hit back with evidence that they have been selling watches bearing the name since 1892. The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) agreed and have now refused the racing driver's company's request to cancel the trademark. It said celebrities like Hamilton, 35, had no 'natural right' to have their name protected and pointed out the Swiss firm had been using it before he was...
DENVER (CBS4) – Despite recent snow events in the mountains, drought in the state continues to worsen with more than a quarter of Colorado now experiencing exceptional drought. It’s the driest the state has been in 18 years. (source: CBS) The weekly drought update released Thursday morning showed no change with the percentage of Colorado classified with at least moderate drought (100%), severe drought (94%) or extreme drought (74%). Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown seems to be at the center of a never-ending stream of trouble, but if you ask his head coach, the team doesn’t appear to regret signing him. “He’s been a model citizen,” Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians said on SiriusXM’s NFL Radio on Wednesday. “If and when he’s not, we’ll move on. He knows that. Our team knows that. I don’t really think we’re going to have any problems. We haven’t had any so far and I really would not anticipate any.” The Bucs signed Brown last month after serving an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Recently, it came to light that Brown allegedly destroyed a surveillance camera and threw a bicycle at a security guard in a gated community in Florida not long before joining the team. Arians said the team “knew of the incident” before they signed him....
A mutated strain of coronavirus that emerged in mink and could make vaccines less potent has 'likely been eradicated', officials in Denmark claimed today. The new Covid-19 variant — called Cluster 5 — caused global panic after it was found to be resistant to antibodies, substances made by the body to fight off infections.  It was feared Cluster 5 would be able to slip past promising new Covid-19 vaccines, which work by stimulating an antibody response.  Officials locked down swathes of northern Denmark where the strain originated and ordered the culling of 17million mink earlier this month in a bid to stomp out the variant before it became widespread. In a statement today, the country's health ministry said there had been 'no new cases of Cluster 5 since September 15' which led it to conclude it 'has most likely been eradicated'.   Scientists believe the mutant virus jumped from fur farm workers to mink in...

(CNN)Across the nation, people are navigating a new normal: caring for ailing family members; supporting partners through unemployment; turning their living quarters into offices; tending to children between work calls or helping them learn at home. To be sure, the pandemic presents challenges for all adults, but the new reality has exposed the inequalities that place an outsized burden on women -- in Covid-19 times and in normal times. Jessica CalarcoWhen you really consider it, women do the work that a welfare state should do. They often become the fundraisers when school budgets don't meet kids' needs; the nurses when their elderly and ailing kin can't afford the high costs of health care; the mentors when employers fail to train or support new hires; the child care providers when center-based care is too expensive or can't cover the hours their friends and family need. Why must women take on these...

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Jordan Klein’s husband got a positive COVID-19 test last month. “That’s kind of when the panic set in and said okay we gotta separate and isolate,” Klein, from Minneapolis, said. The couple went into lockdown mode. Klein also got a test even though she wasn’t having symptoms. She and her husband stayed on different floors, ordered groceries for delivery, and didn’t leave the house for two weeks. “If he ever needed to come down to the main floor to take a shower, use the bathroom, we wore masks,” she said.  “I wiped down everything in the house.” Dr. Hannah Lichtsinn with Hennepin Healthcare says if you have COVID-19 symptoms, you should get tested immediately.  However, if you’ve been possibly exposed, schedule a test for five to seven days after the exposure. “The reason why is if you get tested too soon it’s more likely that test will be a false negative...

SAN ANTONIO – Ever wondered what’s behind those rattles, shakes and check engine lights in your vehicle? There could even be an issue with your vehicle that isn’t as obvious, but has the potential to be dangerous. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a tool that allows drivers to check on recalls associated with their vehicles. Drivers can search by their vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, or by make, model and year. Results will include complaints made by drivers, recalls, investigations and manufacturer comments. If searching by VIN, the results will not include recalls more than 15 years old. The search tool can also be used for car seats and tires. Recalls are issued after the NHTSA investigates numerous complaints about the same issue. The NHTSA says complaints are added to a public database, and if there are “similar reports from a number of people about the same...

She was referring to an incident on November 9, when Fox News host Neil Cavuto cut away from live footage of White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany speaking during a Trump campaign press conference. McEnany was discussing alleged voter fraud during the presidential election.   “I saw, live, Cavuto cut away from Kayleigh McEnany. That was so shocking,” Coulter said....
