The Samsung Galaxy A52 is just around the corner, the renewal of one of Samsung’s most successful lines in terms of sales, as it is rarely the time that figures of the best-selling phones are published and a Galaxy A5X does not appear among them. The proof that it is almost here is that it does not stop filtering but, above all, that it already passes through the certifying entities. Certifications are the steps prior to any presentation, obtaining the necessary authorization to be able to sell electronic products, and the Samsung Galaxy A52 just went through TENAA. That means that the phone is about to debut in eastern markets, since the FCC is the one that marks the arrival in the West. 6.5 inches, fast charging, quad camera and Android 11 The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G As with the Galaxy A51, the future Galaxy A52 will arrive...
Virgin Orbit — the sister company of billionaire Richard Branson’s space tourism outfit Virgin Galactic — will try a second test of its small satellite-launching rocket later today, months after it failed to reach orbit during a first attempt. Sometime after 1PM ET, Virgin Orbit’s customized Boeing 747 will take off from Virgin Galactic’s spaceport in the Mojave desert and ascend to 35,000 feet with the satellite-launching rocket attached to its wing. Once it reaches a predetermined location, the rocket is supposed to drop and ignite, taking the small satellites on board the rest of the way into orbit around the Earth. Virgin Orbit says the window for launch will last until 5PM ET. There is no live stream of the test, though the company plans to tweet...

National digital currencies will give way to bitcoin and other competing cryptocurrencies if the latter take hold as a means of payment in e-commerce. Macquarie Investment Bank analysts. CoinDesk share this opinion. Indeed, analysts see space for further growth in cryptocurrency prices, primarily bitcoin. They see that the only obstacle to this is the possibility of structural changes on the part of regulators that will moderate the usefulness of private coins. Next, researchers see the potential for the CBDC to crowd out private cryptocurrencies and fiat. A condition for this will be the rhythmic work of central banks and their private partners. This will ensure the reliability, security and functionality of digital currencies. In addition, analysts believe that China could launch the digital yuan (DCEP) as early as this year. The Fed and the ECB will continue to work on their versions of the CBDC as early as...

By Rodolfo León 0 COMMENTS 01/11/2021 5:43 pm Unlike The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 it’s not such a long game. The new of CD Projekt REDDepending on how meticulous and exploratory you are, it can be finished in up to 30 hours, although of course it can also be extended to 60 or 70 hours. The truth is that nobody likes to waste time, and for an unfortunate gamer, that was just what happened to him during the credits of the RPG. As he writes SoleSurvivorVault18 in Reddit, Cyberpunk 2077 he crashed right in the credits, causing him to lose all his progress. Fortunately, this user had already managed to get the Platinum trophy a few seconds before it crashed, but it still must have been a very hard hit. “I got the Platinum trophy and immediately the game crashed when the credits were in. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on the fallout of the storming of the Capitol by a mob of pro-Trump loyalists (all times local): 1:05 p.m. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is telling fellow Democrats that the nation’s top military officer has told her there are steps in place that would prevent President Donald Trump from firing nuclear weapons. Pelosi is holding a conference call with House Democrats about what they should do about Trump doing his waning days in office, including the possibility of impeachment. Democrats and many Republicans blame Trump for this week’s deadly assault on the Capitol by pro-Trump rioters, and many say they are worried that Trump might try something irrational. Before Friday’s conference call, Pelosi told her colleagues that she had asked Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, about preventing Trump from initiating a nuclear strike. A person familiar with Friday’s call says...

Hundreds of Armenia activists gathered around the firm's headquarters in Hawthorne, California last October, with the hopes the Elon Musk-owned company would sever ties with Turkey. Spacex's latest Starship prototype, Serial Number 9 (SN9), ignited its massive Raptor engines for the first time, signaling the massive rocket is gearing up for its first high-altitude test flight. The static fire test, which occurred Wednesday evening, allows operators to fire up the engines while the Starship remains attached to the ground. SN9 can be seen sitting on the launch pad of SpaceX's Boca Chica testing facility in Texas and then with raging fire and smoke come bellowing out from its base. Airspace restrictions for the area suggest the first major 'hop' could take place as early as Friday – with back-up slots set for Saturday and Sunday. SN9 will take the same journey as its predecessor Serial Number 8 (SN8), which launched 7.8 miles into the air before igniting into a ball of flames the second it returned to the ground. Cyberpunk 2077 launched full of issues both big and small, but the mod community settled down and went to work. The game’s Nexus Mods page is now full of interesting additions that smooth the path through the base game’s bumpy ride. For instance, players noticed after launch that Night City has no barbers. But thanks to a mod by homes432 called Arasaka Appearance Updater, the player can adjust some facial features and switch their haircut. Another mod that is incredibly helpful is Better Minimap, by WillyJL. In standard Cyberpunk 2077, every time V gets out of their car, the camera zooms way in on the minimap, meaning you can’t see the objective that got you out of your car in the first place. Better Minimap offers new zoom options and other features. There’s even a new mod that offers a third-person camera. Jelle Bekkar posted TPP Mod WIP Third...
(CNN)The lived effects of racism and inequality constitute America's biggest public health and safety crisis, and it demands bold, courageous action in 2021. The Biden-Harris administration's first 100 days should be devoted to developing, unveiling and implementing a National Racial Truth, Justice and Healing Commission, with executive authority charged with three broad missions. The commission could be run out of the Oval Office, perhaps overseen by senior domestic adviser Susan Rice, and have a staff that included a congressional liaison to help pursue legislative programs while simultaneously using executive authority wherever possible to achieve its objective. Peniel JosephFirst, the new administration should organize a diverse group of scholars who will be charged with offering a comprehensive and holistic portrait of America's racial history. The Pulitzer Prize-winning 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones offers an important template in this regard, but one that -- even as it has been debated among historians...

SpaceX might not rely on legs to land its next-generation booster rockets. Elon Musk has revealed that his company will try to “catch” the future Super Heavy booster using the launch tower arm, with the grid fins (used to help control the descent) shouldering the load. As TechCrunch explained, this process would effectively hook the rocket using the tower arm before it reaches the ground. This would require very precise positioning, and there’s still a long way to go when Super Heavy flight testing might not start until a few months from now at the earliest. If successful, though, the catch method could save SpaceX from adding bulky legs to its rocket. A truly precise maneuvering system might even reduce turnaround time by letting SpaceX relaunch the rocket without having to move it from its landing position.
The coming year could be pretty bleak here on Earth as the economy tries to recover from the pandemic and vaccine-distribution hits snag after snag. But in space, 2021 promises to be a banner year. New probes, landers, rovers and instruments are pushing deeper into the solar system and beyond, intensifying humanity’s efforts to extract valuable resources, prepare for manned missions and, perhaps most intriguingly, search for evidence of extraterrestrial life. These are some of the most exciting space stories of 2021.THE MOONIt seems like everyone wants to get to the moon these days. There’s a lot of important science we can do on the dusty orb and valuable things we can build in the moon’s weak gravity, using the satellite’s own resources. The moon’s also a possible launching pad for follow-on missions to Mars. Under Donald Trump, NASA’s Artemis mission aimed to put astronauts on the lunar surface by...
Elon Musk is known for revealing ambitious plans and the latest suggests the Startship’s Super Heavy booster will not land, but be caught when it returns to Earth. The SpaceX CEO shared on Twitter that the heavy booster, which is still under development, will be retrieved by the launch tower arm used to stabilize the vehicle during its pre-takeoff preparations. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was announced in 2001 and didn’t ship until 2007, so news that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is preparing for a 2021 release more than ten years after it was originally announced is fitting. Presumably first-person shooter players will once again put on their radiation suits to survive in Chernobyl while fighting mutants, but the clip released today doesn’t give away many hints. A Facebook post refers to the player’s character “Skif,” and says “loading” along with “PDA 2.0.” Ukrainian developer GSC Game World posted this teaser trailer on IGN’s YouTube channel, with a note saying it represents “how the game actually feels: fast-paced change of scenery, ominous landscapes and the ever-present feeling of an inevitable danger accompanied by a barely-distinguishable guitar soundtrack.” The brief clip is presented in 4K and certainly brings to mind the first game’s gloomy environment, and says it’s our first in-engine look at...
By Tarek Amara TUNIS (Reuters) - Tunisian President Kais Saied will launch in coming weeks a national dialogue that will include political parties and youth from all regions "to correct the revolution that has deviated from its goals a decade after its outbreak", the presidency said on Wednesday. The presidency said the dialogue proposed by the powerful UGTT union seeks economic, social and political reforms as the country is witnessing a wave of protests against bad public services, widespread unemployment and corruption. Ten years ago, massive protests against poverty, marginalization and unemployment brought down the regime of the late President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The Tunisian revolution triggered the Arab Spring uprisings in Egypt, Libya and Syria. Despite that, Tunisia is an example of peaceful transition in a region struggling elsewhere with violence and upheaval. Later, its economic and social situation worsened and the country became on the verge...
Wooden satellites that burn up completely on atmospheric re-entry — without releasing harmful aluminium-rich particles — are being developed in Japan. The major component in today's satellites is aluminium — which, when broken down by the force of re-entry, releases long-lived aerosols that damage the ozone layer.  Researchers from Kyoto University have joined forces with Sumitomo Forestry to explore the potential for wood to be used in the extreme environment of space. Not only would wooden satellites be better for the environment, but they could also allow for new and simpler designs if used to make a craft's outer shell. This is because electromagnetic signals pass more easily through wood — meaning that antennas could be placed within, rather than outside, the satellite body. The Japanese team of experts have said that they hope have their first wooden satellite ready to launch into space by the year 2023.  Wooden satellites (depicted)...

Tim Cook at Apple EventSource: Apple TFI's Ming-Chi Kuo published a note over the weekend that addressed a report from Reuters last week, which said Apple plans to produce a self-driving passenger car in 2024. The Reuters report sent shares of companies that build parts for autonomous cars, like lidar sensors, soaring. But the hype was purely on speculation some of those companies might supply parts for the Apple car, Kuo warned. Kuo has built a reputation for accurately revealing Apple's product launch plans, and he closely follows Apple's supply chain. "We believe that the current so-called Apple Car concept stocks are only speculations by the market and do not involve actual Apple Car suppliers," Kuo said. "We also think that because EV/self-driving car technical specs are still evolving, it is too early to talk about the final specs of the Apple Car." Kuo said the market is "too bullish"...
Polish game developer CD Projekt Red has faced harsh criticism and potential shareholder lawsuits following the launch of its hotly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077, considered by many gamers and industry experts as the most hyped video game in the last decade. Breitbart Tech went hands on with the game to find out just how bad the bugs are, and if the game is worth playing today. On December 10, one of the most highly anticipated games of the past few years was finally released following multiple delays. Cyberpunk 2077 was expected to be one of the most immersive gaming experiences of all time, but instead, players received a broken, buggy mess that many who purchased it were unable to play whatsoever. Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the popular tabletop role-playing game of the same name from 1988. The video game was developed by the Polish gaming studio CD Projekt Red (CDPR) which garnered a strong...
Austin, Texas (CNN Business)Despite the pandemic, 2020 was a landmark year for the commercial space industry. SpaceX became the first company ever to send humans to space aboard a privately owned spacecraft. The US government continued to work closely with startups and space businesses to put humans back on the Moon. And, helped by governments declaring them "essential businesses" amid the pandemic, a pack of young space companies kept working to create new rockets or satellite services. But 2021 is expected to be even bigger for the burgeoning industry as reigning giants such as SpaceX continue to pursue futuristic technologies — from Mars rockets to space-based internet service and extraterrestrial tourism. Here's a look at what the private sector has planned in space next year.Astronauts fly commercialSpaceX made history when its Crew Dragon spacecraft proved it can ferry NASA astronauts to the International Space Station, marking the first time in SpaceX's...
SpaceX closed out a record year by launching its 26th Falcon 9 rocket Saturday, the second in less than a week, to put a classified National Reconnaissance Office satellite into orbit. The NROL-108 payload was a surprise late addition to SpaceX's launch manifest. The satellite's builder and purpose are mysteries, reminiscent of the equally mysterious "Zuma" payload launched by SpaceX in January 2018. Zuma was lost in a mishap of some sort shortly after reaching space and no details about its mission, or even what agency owned it, have ever surfaced. In any case, SpaceX's year-ending mission got off to a spectacular start as the Falcon 9's first stage, making its fifth flight, thundered to life at 9:00 a.m. ET, pushing the slender rocket away from historic pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center atop 1.7 million pounds of thrust. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasts off carrying a classified...
According to Wrestling Inc, WWE executive Triple H has put together a team for a new NXT show, which will operate as a minor league system for the black and gold brand. The prospective program will be overseen by Gabe Sapolsky, who “The Game” is reportedly a huge fan of. The writer has a wealth of experience in creative positions, having worked with Paul Heyman in Extreme Championship Wrestling and going on to co-found Ring of Honor and Evolve afterward. Ringside News elaborated on the news, revealing that Sapolsky has been given a team of writers and agents already. As of this writing, they’re working on getting comfortable with writing television ahead of the project’s proposed 2021 launch date. It’s been a bad week for GOG owner and Cyberpunk 2077 publisher CD Projekt — but it’s mostly of the company’s own doing. The publisher and its game development arm, CD Projekt Red, faced criticism all week for Cyberpunk 2077, a highly anticipated game with eight years of built-up expectations and bold promises. But the game’s release has been soured by a messy launch, with significant console performance issues and unmet promises of refunds. That is, until Sony announced on Thursday night that it would honor refunds for PlayStation 4 players — and pull the game from the PlayStation Store. Over the past decade, CD Projekt amassed goodwill with its community, thanks to the success and support of The Witcher 3, as well as the perceived generosity of GOG, a storefront for games that boasts a strong anti-DRM stance. That goodwill had been so strong that many fans overlooked...

Britain is to launch a spacecraft next year in a mission to ambush a comet and unlock mysteries of the universe. UK scientists and engineers will design and build the mother-ship in the first bid to track down and map a space rock in 3D. Experts from Thales Alenia Space UK based in Bristol and Harwell, Oxon, will create the “Comet Chaser” craft after the firm landed the contract. It will transport two 2-foot-long Japanese Space Agency probes and orbit — possibly for years — until astronomers pinpoint a target. It will then be sent on an intercept course, releasing the probes to make close fly-bys. They will beam information back to the main craft. The ambush tactic, likely to take only hours, has never been tried. Experts believe data gathered could help answer how the Solar System formed 4.6 billion years ago. Science Minister Amanda Solloway said she was proud...

Blast off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, took place shortly after 8pm EST yesterday evening, carrying its payload for the US National Reconnaissance Office. Experts have speculated — based on the rocket's size and trajectory — that the rocket carried the latest in the Orion large 'signals intelligence' satellites. The website had pitched itself as an “antidote to the daily news grind,” and promised “to redefine what news is about, shifting the focus from the sensational to the foundational.” The Correspondent launched in September 2019, following a stunning crowdfunding campaign that raised $2.6 million from 45,888 supporters in its one month campaign at the end of 2018 – a world record for the number of backers in a journalism crowdfunding campaign (the previous record was held by De Correspondent, in 2013). High-profile “ambassadors,” including journalist Nate Silver, The Wire creator David Simon, and strategist Baratunde Thurston were tapped to drum up publicity and support for the English-language startup. Brilliant but impoverished, many internet visionaries were camping out in a friend's spare room when they had their great brainwave. In the case of Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia, billionaire founders of Airbnb, that was the great brainwave. The two former school friends had just moved to San Francisco in 2007 when, unable to pay their monthly bills and aware local hotels were all full because of a technology conference, they put three inflatable mattresses in their living room and rented them out online. They called their website Airbed & Breakfast. In the event, they've been able to do a lot more than just pay their rent. Allowing 'hosts' to let spare rooms (or homes) to travellers at a knockdown price because they avoided many of a hotel's built-in costs is a fairly basic idea — as they so often are in Silicon Valley. SpaceX Starship rocket exploded the moment it hit the ground following its first high-altitude flight - leaving nothing behind but debris and cloud of smoke. CEO Elon Musk had said it was unlikely that Starship serial number 8 (SN8) would land safely - and the billionaire was right. The massive rocket took off from the firm's Boca Chica testing facility at 5:45pm, igniting its powerful Raptor engines and soaring into the sky.  The flight lasted for around six minutes before the engines shutdown and SN8 began its journey back to the launch pad.   The world sat on the edge of their seats as the rocket neared the ground wondering Musk's prediction was correct. Then moment it touched down, the entire Starship blew up in flames, leaving nothing behind but a damaged piece of the nose cone. [This livestream is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET . Please refresh the page if you do not see the player above] SpaceX is preparing to launch the latest prototype of its next-generation Starship rocket on Wednesday, in a high-altitude flight that represents the company's most ambitious test to date. Starship prototype Serial Number 8, or SN8, will aim to fly as high as 12.5 kilometers, or about 41,000 feet. That's significantly higher than the pair of 500-foot flight tests that SpaceX completed with prototypes SN5 and SN6 earlier this year. The attempt comes a day after SpaceX nearly launched the rocket but was stopped short by a last second engine issue. The company has since reset for another attempt. Notably, the goal of the SN8 flight is not necessarily to reach the maximum altitude, but rather to test several key parts of the Starship system. "This suborbital flight...

What if every single one of us was a raindrop, and if every single one of us cared? 'At the end of the day, nature is our life source... But you can't uplift, educate and inspire unless there is a form of action that follows.' And the Duke, who has previously been criticised for his use of private jets, hit out at those who don't take real action on the environment, saying: 'For me it's putting in the dos behind the says....

The electrical charge of the lightning strike sent an erroneous message to the engines, causing them to overfire and the rocket to break up, leading to the break up of the launch vehicle. Luckily, no astronauts were on board, but a multimillion-dollar Navy satellite that required years to manufacture was lost. A NASA after-action report determined that although natural lightning conditions did not exist, the atmospheric conditions led the rocket to produce its own lightning. “Triggered lightning is a phenomenon that occurs when rockets are launched into strong electric fields, and they can actually produce their own lightning,” 45th Weather Squadron Launch Officer Arlena Moses told the Washington Examiner on a breezy and sunny, 75-degree “classic Florida winter day" on Florida's Space...

Sony on Wednesday confirmed it would have more PlayStation 5 consoles available from retailers this holiday season after what the company is calling its “biggest” launch ever. Without concrete numbers, we have no idea what that means — the company could be referring to how many consoles were actually purchased by consumers, known as sell through, or the less impressive number of consoles that are simply bought by retailers. Without context or specifics, it’s hard to say. We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. The holiday season is always huge for gaming, but this year, it’s even bigger: a new console generation has arrived with Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X / S and the Sony PS5, and gaming itself has gotten even more enmeshed in mainstream culture during the pandemic. It also feels like we’ve reached an inflection point for game streaming: Google, Amazon, and Microsoft all have services that allow you to play games on any device by streaming them over the internet — a plan that has led to controversy and conflict with Apple, which has put up roadblocks for these services in the iOS App Store. On this week’s episode of Decoder with Nilay Patel, I interviewed Phil Spencer, the executive vice president of gaming at Microsoft — or, more simply, the guy in charge of Xbox. We had a lot to talk about: how much the pandemic has accelerated trends...

Song 5 lander time on the moon will be shorter and sweeter. It can only be on a lunar day or about 14 Earth days because there are no radioisotope heating units to withstand the moon’s frost nights. The lander will dig into the objects with...
