Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow’s forthcoming book, Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption, secured the top spot on the Amazon “Movers & Shakers” list on Tuesday, with Hillary Clinton’s upcoming novel in second place. Amazon describes its Movers and Shakers list as “Our biggest gainers in sales rank over the past 24 hours.” It is updated hourly. Breaking the News currently holds third place on Amazon’s sales rank, while Clinton’s book is in 168th place. Clinton’s fictional novel’s plot overview identifies the story’s protagonist as a female secretary of state saving America from the administration of her political rival. Marlow previewed some of the revelations in his book on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily, including a new left-wing and partisan Democrat figurehead akin to George Soros, American news media companies’ ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and unavoidable conflicts of interest...
An upcoming book from Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow, Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption, has rocketed into the top ten best sellers on Amazon mere hours after its announcement. The investigative work, which blows the lid off the corruption and deception of the corporate media class, generated significant buzz, breaking the top ten in best sellers in Amazon’s books category mere hours after Threshold Editions announced its May release. As of this publication, Breaking the News ranked #6 in Amazon’s books category and #4 in Amazon’s Best Sellers in Politics & Social Sciences. “Alex and his team of researchers elucidate the stunning details of the key ‘fake news’ moments of the Trump era and take a deep dive into some of the right’s favorite media targets: from Bloomberg, CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times to the tech elite in Silicon Valley,” the book’s summary on...
Australian lawmakers agreed Friday to enable world-first legislation that will make Alphabet’s Google and Facebook pay publishers for content. The news media code, which Google has complained is “unworkable”, makes Australia the first country to challenge the market dominance of the U.S. tech giants. “The bill will now be considered by the parliament from the week commencing 15 February 2021,” Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said in an emailed confirmation, Reuters reports. As Breitbart News reported, the Australian push to rein in media companies has been months in the making and led to claim and counter-claim by Big Tech operators that making them pay for content is unfair. Last month Google threatened to withdraw its services altogether if Canberra went ahead, prompting Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to say: We don’t respond to threats. Australia makes our rules for things you can do in Australia. That’s done in our Parliament. It’s done by...
The Breitbart logo. Photo by Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto via Getty Images In internal messages leaked to The Daily Beast, Breitbart News employees debated the role President Donald Trump played in inciting last week's deadly Capitol riot. The far-right Breitbart has actively avoided direct criticism of the president, but the internal messages highlight the growing divide among conservatives regarding Trump's behavior.   "We have worked so hard to promote our values, values that made him president when he hawked them, and now he does this, leaving everything in shambles? Nah, destroy him. Let it be a lesson to every other 'populist,'" wrote one editor in the leaked messages. Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Employees at the conservative, pro-Trump outlet Breitbart News argued over the extent of Trump's role in last week's insurrection at the US Capitol, according to The Daily Beast. In internal Slack messages leaked to The Daily...
In the wake of Wednesday’s Capitol riots NBC News ran a column suggesting many people hope that the riotous onslaught taught Congress how school shootings feel. NBC News pulled together various tweets, one in which an individual wrote, “Now Senators know what it’s like for kids who experience school shootings.” Another Twitter user, Boise School District Trustee. expressed hope that “lawmakers remember the fear they felt today as they cowered under their desks and locked themselves in their offices when the next school shooting occurs.” Dr. Abbie Guttenberg Youkilis, aunt of Parkland shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, wrote, “Seeing fearful members of Congress barricaded in their offices is reminiscent of what happens during a school shooting. I hope they remember the terror they felt next time they have a chance to support gun safety.” One Tik-Tok user wrote, “Dear congress, just lock the door, turn off the lights, and huddle in the corner....
James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released audio Wednesday of a purported conference call or calls in October in which CNN president Jeff Zucker appears to tell editors to spike the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop. On October 14, the New York Post published emails found on a laptop apparently belonging to Hunter Biden, suggesting that his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, had met in 2015 with one of Hunter’s business associates from the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. That directly contradicted Joe Biden’s claims on the campaign trail never to have done so: “I have never discussed, with my son or my brother or with anyone else, anything having to do with their businesses. Period.” Further emails suggested that Hunter Biden had attempted to arrange a joint venture with Chinese energy company in which the “big guy,” an apparent reference to Joe Biden, would hold a 10% stake. Emails obtained independently by Breitbart News...
Wednesday, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh hit back at Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) for his call for increased censorship of Breitbart News during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing a day early with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Limbaugh speculated Blumenthal and his allies that support such a call were not pleased with the “very elite world” of journalism opened by different types of media, including his radio show, the Drudge Report and the work of the late Andrew Breitbart. Transcript as follows: LIMBAUGH: Blumenthal. Da Nang Dick is the senator from Connecticut. He lied about his valorous service in Vietnam. He didn’t serve in Vietnam. He didn’t serve valorously anywhere. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on tech censorship yesterday, Da Nang Dick Blumenthal attacked the Rasputin guy and Zuckerberg for not censoring enough conservative content. He wants them to censor Breitbart more than they’re censoring Breitbart....
During a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee about tech censorship, Sen. Dick Blumenthal (D-CT) attacked the CEOs of Twitter and Facebook for not censoring enough conservative content, saying that the platforms had only taken “baby steps” to tackling “incendiary misinformation.” “According to the internal records that are on record now, leaked by NBC News, Facebook has removed fact checks and forgiven infractions for conservative pages and pundits such as Breitbart, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Gateway Pundit, based on a fear of accusations of bias,” said Blumenthal. Zuckerberg answered that the news reports mischaracterize Facebook’s actions. “What we do sometimes is apply some judgement on whether the repeat offender policies would render too harsh of a penalty, but that’s different from overturning a specific fact check, and it’s not done for the reasons that you said.” “I’m very concerned that, in fact, Facebook seems to have a record...
David Plouffe, Democrat political strategist and former Obama campaign manager, said Thursday during a panel discussion on the 2020 election that the “most important people” in determining the direction of the Republican Party are Breitbart News and other conservative media outlets. The McCain Institute held the roughly hour-long virtual panel discussion, moderated by Showtime host and Atlantic contributor Alex Wagner, which featured New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, Never Trumper and former Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) campaign manager Rick Davis, and Plouffe. C-Span broadcasted the event live. Plouffe’s remark weighed in on the future the Republican Party after the election. He said in response to a question from Wagner: [I]n the future, 2024, whether it’s [former Vice President Joe] Biden or [Sen.] Kamala Harris [D-CA] or some other Democrat who’s running for the presidency, whoever emerges on the Republican side — if it’s [President Donald] Trump, we know he’ll just continue...
President Donald Trump has proposed starting a digital media company to challenge Fox News, according to reporter Mike Allen of Axios. “He plans to wreck Fox. No doubt about it,” Allen quoted a “source with detailed knowledge of Trump’s intentions.” Trump would likely start a digital media channel that would stream online for a monthly fee rather than push a cable news channel the source suggested. The Trump campaign’s list of supporter contacts could be leveraged to speedily build an audience. Trump starting a MAGA media company or “Trump TV” is a pervasive online rumor that continues to pop up when discussing the president’s plans when he leaves office. Fox News is a disgrace. https://t.co/OCgNPdns2v — Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) November 10, 2020 Trump was deeply disappointed in Fox News during the 2020 election, even describing it as an “obstacle” to his campaign. “You have such an incredible audience. So I...
During his opening monologue on the Monday broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson lashed out a Big Tech for placing restrictions on its platforms that hampered the flow of potentially damaging information about then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Carlson deemed it “election tampering” and cited Breitbart News’ lack of search results on Google to back up his claim. The Fox News host noted the well-documented claim of Google’s handling of Breitbart News following a May 2020 so-called algorithm update. Partial transcript as follows: CARLSON: One of the first things that we should be honest about is one of the worst forms of election tampering took place far from polling sites. It wasn’t votes from dead people. Those are bad, but they weren’t the worst thing. The worst things are more obvious than that. The worst thing was Silicon Valley. The tech monopolies spent the final...
Senior officials within President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign told conservative news outlets on Wednesday that they are confident of victory and would reject efforts by media organizations to call the presidential race prematurely. “We’re going to follow the numbers, not what Fox News says,” deputy campaign manager Justin Clark said, when asked what the campaign would do if Fox News refused to rescind its Arizona call and Democrat Joe Biden won Nevada, taking him to 270 — the majority needed in the Electoral College. The campaign held a special call for reporters from conservative outlets, following an earlier call for the media in general. The message was the same in both: the campaign expects to win in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, securing victory. With regard to Pennsylvania, officials said, the campaign would make sure that “legal ballots are counted, and illegal ballots are not counted.” Stepien and senior adviser Jason...

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) criticized Google’s Sundar Pichai for suppressing the visibility of Breitbart News in Google search results during a hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee today. Pichai was present along with the CEOs of Twitter and Facebook. “Google searches for ‘Joe Biden’ generated approximately 30,000 impressions for Breitbart links. This was on May 1. And after May 5th, both the impressions and the clicks went to zero,” Senator Blackburn noted. “I hope what you all realize from this hearing is that there is a pattern. You may not believe it exists, but there is a pattern of subjective manipulation of the information that is available to people from your platforms,” she continued. “What has driven additional attention to this is the fact that more of a family’s functional life is being conducted online. Because of this, more people are realizing that you are picking winners and losers.” “You’re...
Google, the world’s most powerful technology company, is actively interfering in the coming election by burying links to Breitbart News in its search results. In July, Breitbart News published data showing that Breitbart’s Google search visibility is down 99 percent compared to the same period in 2016. RealClearPolitics later published data corroborating this, and showing that the same silent expulsion from Google search results has happened to a variety of other conservative news websites as well. It appears that Breitbart News links are being hidden on Google searches even when users search for the exact string of words in an original Breitbart headline. When links to Breitbart stories do appear, it is often below obscure websites that plagiarize Breitbart’s content. Search ranking is critical for web traffic from Google. The search analytics industry has found that the top three search results on Google drive over 70 percent of clicks. In a...
Facebook added a label to a post on Breitbart News’ page trying to persuade voters that mail-in voting has a “long history of trustworthiness,” citing a “bipartisan” think-tank from the D.C. swamp. The social network added the note underneath a post from Breitbart containing a livestream of President Trump’s rally in Lumberton, North Carolina. “Voting by mail has a long history of trustworthiness in the US and the same is predicted this year. Voter fraud is extremely rare across voting methods (Source: Bipartisan Policy Center),” reads Facebook’s label on the Breitbart News post. Facebook has yet to provide a comment to Breitbart News explaining why the note was added to its post. Instead, a Facebook spokeswoman pointed Breitbart to a post from Mark Zuckerberg explaining the company’s efforts to, among other things, stop “misinformation” about voting from going viral on the platform. The Bipartisan Policy Center, the source cited...
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) reacted to tax-payer funded National Public Radio’s (NPR) announcement that it won’t “waste time” reporting on the growing scandal centered on Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s dealing with Communist China during the former’s time as vice president. “We don’t want to waste our time on stories that aren’t really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listener’s and reader’s time on stories that are pure distractions,” NPR’s Office of the Public Editor wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. It’s time to defund @NPR. This is appalling. #DefundNPR https://t.co/wFbY5lGGTG — Rep. In anticipation of November’s presidential election and in light of growing concern among Democrats regarding their ability to court the Hispanic vote, Breitbart News border reporter Ildefonso Ortiz and international news editor Frances Martel discussed the increasing popularity of conservative ideology within their community. In a conversation in their native tongue, Spanish, the two noted the growing recognition among Latinos that the core of their culture and identity is fundamentally incompatible with the goals and values of the radical left. Ortiz, who is Mexican American, noted that Mexican culture and values are “more conservative than what Democrats present” and that the Democrat approach to molding Hispanic identity to the party’s benefit is “the definition of racism.” “For a long time, the Democrat Party has tried to come across as giving the image that they are the party of immigrants. Of course, what we have seen over time is that it...

David Morey, an informal political consultant for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, tole Breitbart News he was “sympathetic” to Twitter and Facebook determining what information can and cannot be shared in the digital space. Morey joined Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Joel Pollak to discuss the presidential race. Pollak asked about widespread news media avoidance of Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealing and technology companies’ restrictions over sharing related information, including Twitter’s recent censorship of the New York Post’s reports on the Biden’s family’s financial relationships with Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Pollak highlighted how ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, during Thursday’s town hall even with Joe Biden, refused to ask the former vice president about new email evidence that Hunter Biden arranged a meeting with him for an adviser to the corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma in 2015. Pollak said, “The thing, I think, that’s outraged people is that...

Towards the end of the conversation, Boyle explained how national polls are to be taken lightly and broke them down by explaining the four tiers of the electoral college. A recent survey by the Pew Research Center found that about 26 percent of adult Americans get most of their news from  Google-owned YouTube. News viewership on the platform is split evenly between the channels of news organizations and independent news sources and commentators. In a survey released by the Pew Research Center this week, 26 percent of U.S. adults say that their primary news sources is YouTube. This includes 23 percent viewing videos posted by news organizations to YouTube and 23 percent watching independent YouTube news channels. Researchers surveyed 12,638 U.S. adults for the survey. The authors of the study wrote: “The study finds a news landscape on YouTube in which established news organizations and independent news creators thrive side by side — and consequently, one where established news organizations no longer have full control over the news Americans watch.” “External news organizations” are defined in the report as traditional...
Nandini Jammi remembers the moment she learned she was accidentally destroying the news industry. Like so much else in 2020, it came as an unpleasant surprise. As the cofounder of a social media campaign called Sleeping Giants, Jammi had perfected the art of pressuring advertisers to stop funding websites that peddle hateful content. In 2017, Sleeping Giants attained national notoriety when its viral protests on Facebook and Twitter helped cause a 90 percent drop in Breitbart News’ ad revenue—kneecapping one of the most important and inflammatory right-wing publications of the 2016 election. The experience left Jammi, then in her late twenties, exquisitely attuned to the central economic fact of internet content: Good, bad, or neutral, it’s all sustained by advertising. This past March, as the full horror of the coronavirus pandemic began to reveal itself, Jammi watched the news business go into a financial tailspin. Even as traffic to...
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) identified Google’s suppression of Breitbart News within its search engine as an example of the technology company’s left-wing political agenda to assist the Democrat Party, offering his remarks on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Jerome Hudson. Johnson recalled Google’s near-complete removal of Breitbart News from its search results. Google manipulates search results for those “investigating politics,” Johnson said. “They’ll send you to everything positive about Joe Biden and everything negative about Donald Trump.” “[Google’s] manipulation can be powerful,” Johnson added, “and then, of course, what they’re doing with other search results, which is why Breitbart’s results are down so low. It’s obvious that they have political bias.” LISTEN: Johnson wrote of Google’s suppression of Breitbart News in a letter he co-authored with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) to Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Thursday regarding: Conservative outlets have continued to face...
As Big Tech suppresses conservative views in the name of fighting “fake news,” tech titans like Google and Facebook turn to Wikipedia to provide another “fix” to the problem. Despite messaging from Wikipedia’s owners encouraging this trend, over the years, Wikipedia and its sister sites have pushed hoaxes and false information into the media and academia. There are multiple notable cases in which media reports and academic studies copying off Wikipedia were used to support the claim on the online encyclopedia in a form of circular sourcing named “citogenesis.” Ever since its inception, Wikipedia has sold itself as the online encyclopedia “anyone can edit” and its owners have attributed the site’s reputed reliability to this factor. Past academic studies have presented Wikipedia as a reliable source of information and Silicon Valley has seized on this reputation to assuage concerns about their platforms being used to disseminate false information. However, various incidents...
Vice President Mike Pence appeared with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily today to discuss how the Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe are censoring conservative voices online. Commenting on Facebook, Google, and Twitter censoring a video of medical professionals holding a press conference to discuss the Wuhan coronavirus, Pence said, “we’re going to do our very best every day between now and election day and for four more years after that to make sure that we preserve the freedom of speech and freedom of the press on the internet.” Vice President Mike Pence appeared on Breitbart News Daily this week to discuss the ever-growing issue of online censorship from the tech giants of Silicon Valley including Facebook, Google, and Twitter. Pence spoke with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow about the growing impact that big tech can have on freedom of speech and freedom of the...
Former President Barack Obama is privately telling some of the biggest and most influential donors on the left that the 2020 election will not be a lock for former Vice President Joe Biden because President Donald Trump’s voters are “glued” to outlets on the right like Breitbart News and will turn out in droves in November, according to a Thursday report in the New York Times. Obama has reportedly raised $24 million for Biden in two months by having conversations with people like LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, actor George Clooney, and top party leaders. According to the Times, “donors who have paid six-figure sums” have been able to see Obama have these “wide-ranging Q. and A. sessions about the state of politics and unvarnished analysis” on Zoom. In these private conversations, Obama—who has acknowledged that Breitbart News changed the “entire media narrative” in a “powerful direction”—reportedly has said that he...
The official Twitter account of Breitbart News remains locked and unable to post, because it was used to post a video of a press conference featuring Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and frontline doctors sharing their views and opinions on coronavirus and the medical response to the pandemic. The platform has yet to respond to Breitbart’s appeal after nearly 48 hours. Twitter is punishing a news organization for live-streaming a press conference held by a congressman and licensed medical doctors. Breitbart News lodged an appeal with Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. Nearly 48 hours later, Twitter has yet to respond or restore Breitbart’s ability to post. Twitter has not replied to a Breitbart News request for comment on how long such a review is expected to take. Twitter took down the video and locked Breitbart’s account shortly after similar censorship by YouTube and Facebook. On the latter platform, Breitbart’s video accumulated over 17 million views and...
Breitbart News provides a “much truer understanding of the world” than the New York Times, noted Dennis Prager, sharing his assessment of this news media outlet in an interview with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Wednesday’s edition of the former’s eponymous radio show. “You do a great job,” said Prager to Marlow. “Breitbart.com is one of the most important sites in America.” Prager added, “If you only read the New York Times or only read by Breitbart, you would have a much truer understanding of the world with the latter. So, keep up the good work, Alex.” “One of the most powerful voices on the Internet in the world is Breitbart,” stated Prager, “and they have an enormous readership as they deserve.” LISTEN: The New York Times markets itself as a politically objective and non-partisan news media outlet.             by Eric Lendrum  As the 2020 election draws nearer, search engine and tech giant Google is being exposed as engaging in election interference by artificially altering search results to negatively impact right-wing sites, as reported by Breitbart. Breitbart reports that its own visibility on Google search results has been reduced by as much as 99.7 percent of its previous performance since the 2016 election. In contrast to its performance in April of 2016, when it was among the top ten search results for 355 key search terms, it now ranks in the top ten of only one such search term in the month of July of this year. Overall search traffic to Breitbart from the Google search engine is down by 63 percent from 2016, with an accompanying graph showing the massive decline taking place abruptly in mid-2017. The censorship has focused on several particular subjects,...
Madonna, who is no stranger to controversy during her long career, was doing what she does best when she posted a Breitbart News video that landed her in trouble with Silicon Valley censors. The pop star got flagged on Instagram for posting a Breitbart News video from the America’s Frontline Doctors press conference this week in which physicians addressed the pervasive climate of fear that they believe has obscured important facts about the Chinese coronavirus. House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said during an antitrust hearing on Wednesday that big tech companies are “out to get conservatives,” citing Google purging Breitbart News from its search results. Jordan delivered his opening statement during the House Judiciary Committee’s antitrust hearing regarding Amazon, Facebook, Apple, and Google’s dominance on the Internet. The Ohio conservative listed several instances in which big tech companies censor conservatives, including Breitbart News. He said: I’ll just cut to the chase: Big tech is out to get conservatives. That’s not a suspicion. That’s not a hunch. That’s a fact. July 20, 2020, Google removes the homepages of Breitbart and The Daily Caller. Just last night we learned that Google has censored Breitbart so much that traffic has declined 99 percent. June 16, 2020, Google threatens to demonitize and ban The Federalist. News outlets, pundits, politicians, and other social media blue checkmarks pushed a viral video with claims that Hurricane Hanna had knocked down part of a border wall in Texas. The claim was debunked by U.S. authorities and the Mexican public official who first published the video has deleted it from her account. The fake news began on Monday when Yadith Valdez, a former journalist and the current spokeswoman for the Nuevo Leon Attorney General’s Office tweeted a video that showed sections of a border wall under construction collapsing from strong winds. In her now-deleted tweet, Valdez claimed the collapse was caused by Hurricane Hanna, which struck the Rio Grande Valley over the weekend. Valdez’s video gained traction in Mexico where news outlets took her claims as factual and published stories without consulting with U.S. or Mexican border officials. After the video became viral, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued...
Mexico’s mainstream media and several public officials promoted a false story about Hurricane Hanna collapsing part of the border wall in the Rio Grande Valley. U.S. Customs and Border Protection says there was no wall damage in the area. The story first surfaced on Twitter through a video that shows wall sections under construction falling down from strong winds. While the video does not show a location for the collapse, the false narrative gained traction when the spokeswoman for the Nuevo Leon Attorney General’s Office Yadith Valdez tweeted and eventually deleted the video. Hours after Valdez’s tweet, the head of Mexico’s Public Radio Network, Jenaro Villamil, posted the same video and adding that the collapse took place along the Texas-Mexico border. The trifecta of coronavirus fears, George Floyd protests, and the push to defund the police has resulted in surging gun sales in Minnesota. CBS 4 reports it all began with fears of virus-related civil unrest leading to record background checks for gun sales in March 2020. The number of background checks conducted in Minnesota in March represented a 20-year high. Then came the May 25 death of George Floyd and the subsequent riots, after which Frontiersman Sports owner Kory Krouse said the demand for guns went through the roof. Krouse said, “People are really scared coming in here. We had a three, four hour wait just to get up to the counter during the height of … the rioting.” As a result of the surge, gun store inventories are down and ammunition is scarce. Matt Perdie On June 12, 2020, Breitbart News reported the Minneapolis city council unanimously passed a pledge to...
Permit applications for the Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card that allows someone to buy a gun in Illinois have surged over 500 percent amid the social unrest and violence currently seen in Chicago and other Democrat-controlled cities. The Chicago Tribune reports the demand for gun permits and guns is so great Illinois’ 72-hour waiting period, which includes background check, is actually lasting about “94 business hours.” They explain the backup by noting the Illinois State Police firearms bureau is simply overwhelmed. From “June 1 to June 17, there were more than 42,000 applications for FOID cards, compared with about 7,000 during the same time last year.” That represents an increase of just over 500 percent. To put things in perspective–the 42,089 permit applications submitted June 1 to June 17 is just slightly less than the “48,194 applications submitted in the months of December, January and February combined.” Law-abiding citizens want guns...
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva revealed Wednesday his plans to increase the issuance of concealed carry permits by 400 percent. Getting a concealed carry permit in L.A. County has been difficult in past years, regardless of the sheriff in charge. On February 14, 2013, Breitbart News reported that the carry permits may have been disproportionately given to friends and donors of Sheriff Lee Baca. LA Weekly noted that people securing the hard-to-come-by permits included: Emerson Glazer: the son of the man who developed the Del Amo Fashion Center mall in Torrance, gave Baca “basketball tickets and gift baskets.” Stan Shuster: the owner of a cigar room, gave Baca “shirts and golf balls.” Michael Yamaki: “is among Baca’s best friends.” George Chilingar: gave Baca $750 worth of Persian rugs. Hollywood producer Arnold Kopelson: “gave Baca ballet tickets in 2004″ Singer James Darren: “gave Baca some CDs and a photograph.”...
Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s (Ret.) attorney, Sidney Powell, exclusively told Breitbart News that the “rule of law” prevailed after an Appeals Court ordered a lower court to grant a request by the Department of Justice to drop its case against the former National Security Adviser. Powell told Breitbart News she is “Delighted to see the Rule of Law work. The Court of Appeals decision is consistent with every other court that has addressed these issues.” She continued, “We appreciate the Integrity and professionalism of the Department of Justice that produced the exculpatory evidence that has been hidden for years, and the prosecutors stepping forward to dismiss a case that never should have been brought. “We trust that Judge Sullivan will follow the law and quickly enter the order of dismissal,” Powell said. Flynn called into The Rush Limbaugh Show to thank the host and his listeners for their support during...
More than 40 people were shot, six fatally, on Monday June 23, 2020, in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago. The Chicago Sun-Times reports the total number of shooting victims at 41, six of whom succumbed to their wounds. NBC Chicago reports that the last of the fatal shooting occurred around 12:45 p.m. Monday when “three women were shot, two fatally, in an apparent domestic-related shooting in Gresham on the South Side.” Monday’s violence follows a Father’s Day Weekend in Chicago in which over 100 people were shot, at least 14 of them fatally. On June 21, 2020, Breitbart News reported at least 56 people had been shot in Chicago by Sunday morning of Father’s Day Weekend alone. Nine of those shooting victims died. A male protester at the “Black House Autonomous Zone” (BHAZ) outside St. John’s Episcopal Church on Monday evening demanded the right to talk about his genitalia, accusing female activists of “body-shaming him.” The bizarre scene unfolded during Breitbart News’ livestream of the Black Lives Matter-affiliated protest, which began earlier in the evening when rioters attempted to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson, which they had defaced, in front of the White House. U.S. Park Police pushed the crowd away from the statue and out of Lafayette Park, and were assisted by D.C. Metro Police. But the Black Lives Matter protesters used the intersection, renamed Black Lives Matter Plaza earlier this month by Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser, as a staging point for the next phase of protest. Inspired by the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle (now renamed the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest,” or “CHOP”), the activists set...
New York City shootings have surged to the point they are now 358 percent higher than they were at this time last year. NBC 4 reports data released Monday shows there were 55 shootings in the last week compared to 12 for the same week in 2019. Over 70 people were injured in the shootings, with victims “[varying] in age from 16 to 47.” On June 21, 2020, Breitbart News reported shootings had risen sharply during Monday-Friday of last week. The increase in numbers came after the NYPD disbanded its plainclothes anti-crime unit. The NBC 4 report notes the shootings continued to pile up over the weekend but NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) indicated no support for bringing back the anti-crime unit. Rather, he said, “We are not going back to the bad old days where there was too much gun violence in this city, nor are we going back to...
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) indicates the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) will be shut down following the shootings that occurred on Saturday and Sunday of Father’s Day Weekend. Breitbart News reported that people were shot, one fatally, inside CHAZ early Saturday morning. The Associated Press reported that the deceased person was 19 years old and the wounded person is in critical condition. The Guardian quoted police union president Mike Solan noting that he feared officers were in danger simply by responding to the shootings. He said, “The community is at grave risk and the men and the women that provide that public safety service, they’re at grave risk as well.” Another shooting occurred in CHAZ on Sunday night, leaving a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to his arm. Mayor Durkan reacted to the shootings by noting that CHAZ has grown less safe instead of safer over time and the...
Reports indicate that shootings in New York City surged last week following the NYPD’s decision to disband its plainclothes anti-crime unit. The New York Post reports the unit was disbanded on Monday, June 15, 2020, and the week ended with “28 [shooting] incidents and 38 victims.” During the same week in 2019 there were only 12 shootings. An law enforcement source told the Post, “This is what the politicians wanted — no bail, nobody in Rikers, cops not arresting anyone.” The source added, “All those things equal people walking around on the street with guns, shooting each other.” The Sergeants Benevolent Association tweeted: NYC shooting violence in 24 hrs thanks to New York’s FAILED politicians who lack the courage to tell the truth & now who suffers? Who are the real victims? Where are the phony politicians now? Take a bow DeBlasio, City Council, NYS Senate the body count is...
The top 100 universities in the United States overwhelmingly featured leftist commencement speakers this spring. A study found that only one university featured a conservative commencement speaker in 2020. A recent study published by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) revealed that only one of America’s top universities invited a Republican commencement speaker in 2020. Universities and colleges around the nation featured leftist speakers including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) and actor George Takei. Miami University of Ohio was the only university included in the study to invite a conservation commencement speaker. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) gave a virtual commencement address for Miami University students on May 16. Breitbart News reported in 2019 that UC Berkeley hasn’t had a conservative commencement speaker in 10 years. Democratic politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Jerry Brown have recently...
