With the way things are going in Atlanta this season, the Falcons will need a miracle to make the playoffs and even then, it probably won’t happen. Atlanta legend and rapper “Big Boi” of Outkast joined the Men in Blazers podcast and gave a suggestion to solve all Atlanta Falcons’ problems. “Falcons might just need to go ahead and throw the rest of the season”, Big Boi said. “Go and throw it, lose out, draft Trevor Lawrence from Clemson first and we have us a Tom Brady for the next 15 years. “People can’t go to the game now anyway, sh**.” That would be a brilliant idea if the Jets weren’t already in first place to pick Lawrence. And the Falcons still aren’t that...

The 49ers leave Wednesday for a desert oasis in Arizona, where they’ll frolic on lush lands, find shelter in a four-star hotel and, ideally, enjoy safe passage in this month’s playoff push. Such is their plan upon being exiled from Santa Clara County, due to COVID-19 concerns that prompted health officials to ban contact sports. A sports and entertainment complex in Glendale, Ariz., will serve as the 49ers’ home base for at least the next couple weeks, if not to their season’s end. They will play their next two “home” games there, at the Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium, against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night then the Washington Football Team on Sunday, Dec. 13. Amid the stadium parking lots are practice fields – grass ones, like the stadium offers, to the 49ers’ injury-weary delight. (They’ve had many a player’s season end or sidetracked by injuries on...

CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to have surgery on his injured left knee this week, coach Zac Taylor said Monday. Burrow’s season ended Nov. 22 when he was sandwiched between two Washington pass-rushers and his leg was bent severely. The structural damage in his knee requires surgery and extensive rehabilitation. “I just know that it’s the middle of week sometime,” Taylor said without discussing any more details of the procedure. Taylor said he expects Burrow to be ready to play again at some point next season. “He’s just ready to get this process going and get healthy for next year,” said friend Sam Hubbard, a Bengals defensive end. “He’s about as positive and upbeat as you could be with the circumstances and the injury.” Burrow led LSU to the 2019 national championship and won the Heisman Trophy. He was the top overall draft pick...
For the fourth straight week, the top eight teams in The Associated Press college football poll were stuck in place, and a glance at the upcoming schedule suggests it could be a couple more weeks before this gridlock lets up. The elite eight runs down like this: Alabama at No. 1 followed by Notre Dame, Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M in the top five. Florida is sixth, Cincinnati is seventh and BYU eighth. And that's the way its been since Nov. 8, the day after Notre Dame beat Clemson. Among the top six teams, only one plays an opponent with a winning record next week. Texas A&M is at Auburn (5-3). No. 7 Cincinnati and No. 8 BYU are scheduled to be off, and the speculation about those two unbeatens trying play each other on short notice seemed to be doused when the Bearcats had their American Athletic Conference...

Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Lou Williams is one of the veterans who are expected to change teams in the 2020 offseason. Since they got surprisingly eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals, rumors are circulating that the Clippers would be trading Williams as part of their goal to build a fresh-start environment. In a recent article, Evan Massey of NBA Analysis Network created a list of teams that should go after Williams this fall. These include the Golden State Warriors. With Klay Thompson expected to miss the entire 2020-21 NBA season recovering from an Achilles injury, Massey believes that trading for Williams would make a lot of sense for Golden State. “Many thought the Warriors would be a serious championship contender once again next season. With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson back healthy, they were going to be tough. Unfortunately, Thompson ended up suffering a torn...
In the past months, rumors have been continuously swirling around reigning MVP and DPOY Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. As of now, the Bucks remain confident that Antetokounmpo would be signing the massive contract extension that they recently offer but if he declines to ink a new deal this fall, they could be forced to start entertaining offers for him on the trade market. One of the teams that are closely monitoring Antetokounmpo’s situation in Milwaukee is the Golden State Warriors. With the uncertainties in the ongoing negotiation between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, the Warriors must be starting to make preparations in case the “Greek Freak” becomes available on the trading block soon. In a recent article, Nathan Beighle of Fansided’s Blue Man Hoop suggested trade packages that Golden State could offer to Milwaukee. In one of the proposed scenarios, the Warriors would be sending Klay...
Haas F1 has seen an unfortunate downfall since their promising debut in 2016. The American team saw their best season in 2018 as they finished at P5 of the constructor championships. However, the very next season was their worst performance ever, as they finished at P9 in the championship standings. This season has been nothing less than a disaster for the team. They qualified as the slowest team at the Bahrain Grand Prix; however, Guenther Steiner believes the worst is yet to come. He said, “It’s not that I’m looking forward to next week, to be honest. “If you think this is bad, wait for next week.” Haas have lost most lap time at Bahrain since last year The three Ferrari teams have all underperformed compared to their last visit to Bahrain. Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean qualified 18th and 19th respectively, with just Nicholas Latifi behind them. Steiner believes...
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State officials say they are unsure when the team can practice again, let alone play next week at Michigan State, after an outbreak of COVID-19 put the third-ranked Buckeyes’ Big Ten title hopes in danger. “I have no clue what this afternoon or tomorrow will bring or next week will bring,” athletic director Gene Smith said Saturday. Three more college football games across the country were canceled or postponed Saturday, including Florida State hosting Virginia. For the second straight week, the Seminoles had their home game called off hours before kickoff and after their opponent had already traveled to Tallahassee, Florida. Last week the issue was Clemson and Florida State not agreeing on whether the game should be played after a Tigers player who was positive for COVID-19 traveled with the team to Florida. This week, one positive test for a Florida State player returned...
Lockdowns coming again: Latest in your state Iran assassination could undercut Bidens diplomatic options NHL reportedly considering taxi squads for next season Last season in Major League Baseball, teams were permitted to carry taxi squads in an effort to reduce the number of times that players had to be shuffled between the big club and their minor league training complex.  In the latest "31 Thoughts" podcast, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that the NHL is considering a similar idea for next season. © Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports NHL commissioner Gary Bettman The current idea under consideration would see players paid their AHL salaries, so there wouldn’t be a substantial cost increase for owners aside from paying out NHL per diems.  Presumptively speaking, that should include players on one-way deals who would still receive their full pay if they’re assigned to the taxi squad. (CBS Local)- Like all athletes around the world, swimmers have had to adjust to a different schedule this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For those that were looking forward to competing in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, that was pushed back another year. Texas’ 23-20 home loss to No. 13 Iowa State on Friday can also double as a Rorschach test on how you view the tenure of Texas coach Tom Herman. Is he close, so achingly close, to the top of the Big 12? Or is Texas emerging as this season’s definitive drama major a symptom of a program stuck in neutral?  The loss dropped Texas to 5-3 and officially nudged Herman onto the hot seat, as he’s 30-18 in his fourth season in Austin. And how you view this white-knuckle Texas season — just like the latest white-knuckle loss — can also double for how you view Herman. There’s plenty of evidence that the Longhorns are on the cusp...

FOOTBALL chiefs are ready to agree ANOTHER change in the handball Law. But it will not come into effect until next season. 3Ifab are set to change the handball rule again which would see this Eric Dier incident no longer an automatic penaltyCredit: Kevin Quigley-The Daily Mail The alteration, set to be approved by the International FA Board, will mean the penalty controversially conceded by Spurs’ Eric Dier against Newcastle at the start of the season will no longer be an automatic spot kick. Under current Laws, if the ball strikes the arm or hand above the shoulder, referees have no option but to punish the offence. But the change, set to be endorsed next month and confirmed in March - and to take effect from June 1 - will hand back discretion when the defender’s action is judged to be “part of the natural movement”. Friends Cast: Where Are They Now? 27 Ugly Truths About Retirement Mike McCarthy Is Digging Himself a Gigantic Hole The Dallas Cowboys are pathetic. New York Yankees: Aaron Hicks needs his respect By: Nick Nielsen November 27, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditAaron Hicks is one name to get many Yankees fans talking. For one side, the argument is the baseless “Aaron Hicks should not be on this team.” For the other, it’s a matter of seeing it how it is. The reality is that Aaron Hicks is one of the most balanced players we have on the entire squad, and his contributions need more recognition than they’ve received. Hicks’ 2020 season was one of the more complete seasons put together by anyone on the team. Additionally, there were some great signs to take note of, going forward. The first main argumentative point for Hicks deserving more credit is that this last year he suited up in 54 out of 60 possible games. For him to have put together a full...
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — I really hope you got to enjoy that gift of sunny skies and mild temps yesterday. Today and the weekend will be just as calm, but cooler. But calm, and sun thru the last weekend of November works for me. The low 60’s today is still 10° above normal. Even the 56° on Sunday a few degrees higher than the baseline. Not only is this the last weekend of November but on Monday we will take the last day of hurricane season off the calendar too. Given the amount of storms this year we are so lucky, here in the Mid-Atlantic, to have had such a calm tropical season. But we all certainly got our education on the Greek alphabet late in that season didn’t we? Up next is Winter, and Meteorologist Chelsea Ingram has crunched some data, and has developed our Winter outlook. Chels will be rolling...
New York Yankees Report Card: Clint Frazer, the next big Yankee star? By: William Parlee November 27, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe New York Yankees have much to do this offseason to address the team’s problems, causing it to have an early exit in several postseasons in a row. This offseason will prioritize resigning DJ LeMahieu and will try to patch up the pitching rotation. One area they will not have to address is the outfield at Yankee Stadium. The main reason they won’t have to look to improve there is due to the resurrection of outfielder Clint Frazier. Clint Frazier has now played part of four seasons with the New York Yankees. The Yankees saw a fast bat with Clint Frazier and a possible future Yankee star, but they also saw a player with poor fielding skills. The fielding skills have caused him to spend...
Sebastian Vettel scored his first podium of this season at the Turkish Grand Prix. To add a silver star to the Italian Camp, in Turkey, Ferrari had their best performance so far in the season. Sebastian Vettel grabbed a P3 after Leclerc narrowly missed it and managed a P4. The Prancing Horse had been the subject for mockery all season. The drivers, especially Sebastian Vettel, were a joke. At such a time, both the team’s and Vettel’s performance comes as a tight slap to the critics. What looked like a perfect Sunday for Ferrari may not have ended very well indeed. In the post-race press meet, Vettel pulled a jab at Ferrari team principal, Mattia Binotto. The German stated, “We won the most points of the season and Mattia was not here. Former World No. 1 Andy Murray is probably the best tennis player Great Britain has ever produced. For a long time, Wimbledon had not seen a homegrown talent win the championship. It took 77 years to repeat the heroics of Fred Perry. Tim Henman had made it to the semi-final on four occasions at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Finally, in 2013, Andy won British hearts by winning Wimbledon.  Murray has made it to the finals of all four majors, and he won at the US Open and Wimbledon. Having made it to the finals of the Australian Open on five occasions, Andy must certainly have some regret of not going the distance on any one of those opportunities. The former Wimbledon champion has had constant troubles with his hip, and that has forced him to take regular breaks on tour.  Murray remains optimistic and is eager...
Fauci worried about case numbers after Thanksgiving DeVos wants standardized exams postponed Youre the GM: After a surprising season, where do the Giants go next? One of the oddities of the pandemic-shortened MLB season was the San Francisco Giants actually being kind of good. These Giants aren’t the early 2010s whose surprising seasons led to World Series wins. Rather these Giants, led mostly by a bunch of nameless value-adds, almost made the playoffs after Madison Bumgarner left in free agency and Buster Posey opted out. This wasn’t the product of a long rebuild like we’re seeing with the White Sox and Padres. It should have been more of a cellar-dwelling season for the Giants. But they got stellar production from Mike Yastrzemski, Donovan Solano, plus a good enough campaign from Kevin Gausman that they extended him a qualifying offer and he accepted.  That said, the Giants are still a...
Patrick Mouratoglou has been associated with tennis for over two decades. Apart from coaching, he even commentates during certain tennis events. He has great knowledge about the game and his analysis is bang on. Having coached many top players over the years, he is known best for his partnership with Serena Williams.  Coming back to events held this year, the tour did suffer considerably due to the effects of COVID-19. The US Open, for the first time, was held before the French Open. Moreover, Wimbledon was canceled, much to everyone’s disappointment. There were many changes as compared to normal circumstances, including matches being held behind closed doors.  Patrick Mouratoglou Vouches for Tennis Players As the players gear up for the 2021 season, there isn’t any assurance yet as to when the Australian Open will begin or the pre-season warm-up tournaments begin. The league will return to in-market games on Dec. 22 after finishing its bubble postseason in Orlando. Covid-19 will have something to do with the 2020-21 campaign, so the NBA factored the pandemic into its shortened 72-game schedule. League officials won't say it publicly, but the NBA is anticipating disruptions due to Covid-19, which led to the decision to release the schedule in two phases. The first half will be released before training camps in December, with the second phase released closer to March. Byron Spruell,...

The supermodel allegedly wants to take over the 'Judges' Save; with her own superpower. Tyra Banks reportedly has some big changes planned for her second season as host and executive producer on Dancing with the Stars. The supermodel is being described as an “idea machine” who constantly sends notes to her team for changes she wants to see on the ABC celebrity ballroom competition — and she plans to up the ante for the show’s milestone 30th season, a source told OK magazine. “Next season she wants to make even more changes, including more fashion, more backstage drama and, of course, more Tyra,” the insider told the outlet. “Tyra wants to merge the competition with a reality show— she wants to show more behind-the-scenes content of the stars. She is even talking about having all the dancers live in the same house like they did on America’s Next Top Model.“...

TURIN, Italy (AP) — Alvaro Morata’s stoppage-time winner booked Juventus a spot in the Champions League’s knockout stage. Combined with Cristiano Ronaldo’s first-half equalizer, Morata’s header earned Juventus a 2-1 comeback win over Hungarian side Ferencvaros on Tuesday. Barcelona, which beat Dynamo Kyiv 4-0 in the other Group G game, also advanced. Barcelona leads the group with 12 points and Juventus has nine points while Kyiv and Ferencvaros have one point each. While Juventus has also labored in Serie A with four wins and four draws under first-year coach Andrea Pirlo, it has not lost in either competition. BOSTON (CBS) — When the Celtics drafted Aaron Nesmith with the 14th overall pick last week, they addressed the team’s need for more shooting. Nesmith described himself as a “sniper” who would be hitting shots for the Celtics in no time. But there was some concern just how quickly the rookie could contribute. Nesmith missed a chunk of his sophomore season at Vanderbilt with a foot injury, which eventually ended his season early and required surgery. With just over a month between the draft and the start of the new season, it seemed like Nesmith’s start with the Celtics would be delayed. But the rookie said that will not be the case when he was introduced by the team on Tuesday. “I’ll be good to go,” Nesmith said at the Auerbach Center in Brighton. “I’ve done everything so far workout-wise. It’s good. I’m 100 percent and I won’t miss a...

By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Basketball Writer MIAMI (AP) — Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat are working on a contract extension, the team said Tuesday. Once the deal is finalized it will likely guarantee Adebayo at least $168 million over the next six seasons and perhaps as much as $200 million in that span. Adebayo will make $5.1 million this season, the final year of his rookie contract. From there, the extension will kick in with a starting salary of somewhere around $28.1 million for the 2021-22 season. And if he makes an All-NBA team this season, something he narrowly missed doing this past season, his annual salary would only rise more. SANTA CLARA – That’s enough resting after a bye week, and let’s dig right into this week’s 49ers’ mailbag via my Instagram and Twitter message boards: How do you perceive the COVID guys? Should they all be ready to go? (@bigev49er) A season-high seven players went on the COVID-19 reserve list last week, and two more were added Monday. Without knowing who tested positive or were close contacts, it’s careless to speculate on their health. That is a pet peeve I shared in my Sunday column about my own bout with COVID-19. Technically, the 49ers’ COVID crew could clear protocol with multiple negative tests. Realistically, this trend is increasingly troubling and the next six weeks could be incredibly hard to field a competitive team, one so ravaged by injuries all season. Percent chance of the 49ers making the playoffs? (@darrenbn) The 49ers, fittingly, have just a...
Two Pac-12 coaches on fragile footing are scheduled to duel Saturday afternoon, but the terrain isn’t the same for Arizona’s Kevin Sumlin as it is for UCLA’s Chip Kelly. The Bruins are 1-2 but coming off an encouraging performance at Oregon. Squint, and you might spot reasons for optimism. The Wildcats are fresh off an atrocious showing — it was more like a no-showing — at Washington. They have dropped nine in a row, the longest losing streak in school history, and are careening toward nowhere. (If you’ve reached depths that even John Mackovic never plumbed, the situation is dire.) From here, the Week Four affair in the Rose Bowl stands as a defining moment for the Sumlin era. As we noted in our season preview of the Wildcats — a preview in which we projected a winless season — players inevitably sense trouble for the head coach. They know...

Steph Curry is one of the most iconic players in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors point guard has changed the way basketball is played. Curry entered the league in the 2009 NBA Draft. He went to the Warriors as the 7th pick in the draft. Since joining the Warriors, Steph has become one of the most accomplished players in the NBA and has broken many records with his three-point shooting. Curry holds the record for most threes made in a regular season, playoffs, finals game, and for the Golden State Warriors. There is no doubt that is the greatest shooter in basketball history. Curry reached the top of the NBA in 2015 when he became the NBA MVP and led the Golden State Warriors to the NBA championship. The following season, he and the Warriors had the greatest regular season in history, with a record of 73-9. NEW YORK,...

San Jose State hasn’t been a stranger to navigating the unique circumstances of playing college football during the COVID-19 pandemic, and last weekend, the program had its latest dose of reality. The Valley Bowl, San Jose State and Fresno State’s rivalry game set for last weekend, was canceled due to COVID-19 contact tracing within Fresno State’s program. The game was declared no contest and will not be rescheduled. “I wish we had a game to talk about at Fresno, but we don’t and that’s kind of the way of the world right now,” said coach Brent Brennan. “COVID is impacting everyone’s lives in one way or another, and for us, it’s in losing an opponent.” Aside from the history between the two programs — San Jose State and Fresno State have played one another 83 times since 1921 — this year’s Valley Bowl was significant because of...

SYDNEY (AP) — Australia’s A-League is set to kick off next month with organizers predicting domestic borders will be open and the only club that needs to be relocated because of COVID-19 restrictions is the New Zealand-based Wellington Phoenix. The soccer season schedule was released Tuesday and features games in four states in the opening two rounds, expanding to Western Australia in the third. Western Sydney Wanderers will get the season started against expansion club Macarthur FC in Parramatta on Dec. 27, and defending champion Sydney FC will open against Melbourne City on Dec. 30. The Wellington Phoenix has been listed to play its home games at Wollongong, south of Sydney, but could possibly return to New Zealand if international border restrictions are eased. Dwight Howard and his free agency were nothing less than chaotic. After doing his part for the Los Angeles Lakers and helping them win their 17th NBA Championship, his fate hung in the balance. Although Dwight is said to be a difficult player to deal with, he showed a lot of positive attitude last season and accepted a much-reduced role in the team with grace. But when the offseason came about, a certain miscommunication led Howard to believe that he was going to stay with the Lakers. He even tweeted about not going elsewhere, an announcement certain NBA Insiders confirmed. However, these tweets were deleted soon after. Subsequently, another news popped up that there was no new deal to be announced, and that Howard was still keeping his options open. The Philadelphia 76ers, on the other hand, wanted nothing else but to acquire the big man. This has a lot to...

Many are wondering if the former model will be returning once again for Season 30. While nothing has been officially announced, it’s likely that Banks will return as the host of the long-running show once again next season, as she’s an executive producer and has been reportedly working to overhaul the staff with people who support her, according to OK Magazine. “When Tyra came on board, she brought a very small team with her,” the source told the magazine. “Basically, she inherited the team that had worked with former host Tom Bergeron for years. You can’t blame her for wanting to surround herself with her own people, staffers that see her vision and are loyal to Tyra.” The...

Winston is the backup and was the primary replacement for Brees after he left the game in Week 10. So why not Winston, who has five seasons as a starter under his belt? Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden is one of the superstars who are expected to change teams in the 2020 offseason. Though the Rockets have expressed their desire to run it back again next season, Harden believes that his championship window in Houston has already come to an end and that it would be best for him to start a new journey somewhere else. One of the most interesting landing spots for Harden this fall is the Golden State Warriors. According to Dan FaVale of Bleacher Report, the Warriors may consider a package that includes Kevon Looney, Eric Paschall, Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, 2021, 2024, and 2026 first-round picks, and the rights to swap first-rounders in 2022 and 2025 to the Rockets in exchange for Harden and PJ Tucker. If the deal becomes a reality, FaVale believes that it would help both teams in filling up the needs to improve...
In normal times, NFL teams sometimes must scramble to find players during the season when a wave of injuries or other issues hit. In 2020, multiply those needs exponentially because of the coronavirus pandemic. Helping out the 32 teams on a limited scale — for now — is the NFL Alumni Academy, run by Dean Dalton, who coached in the league for seven seasons and, as he says, “every time I have tried to leave the game, I’ve been pulled back in.” The academy is located at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, right next to the hall itself. Its first class has included 29 players cut in the preseason, and since early October has undergone the kind of intensive work seen in training camps. An impressive array of teachers such as Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz, and veteran coaches including Mike Tice and Dalton are working...
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings stumbled into their bye with a 1-5 record, their previously fierce home-field advantage vanished as they faced a low-water mark of four games under the .500 mark for the first time in coach Mike Zimmer’s seven seasons. There was no locker room rant, though, from a leader who’s known by his bluntness. Zimmer simply expressed trust in the players that they could initiate a turnaround, a belief backed up by the front office when only one trade — sending recently acquired defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to Baltimore — was made before the deadline. “He just kind of turned to the team. It was time to step up. Tired of losing like that, in that fashion,” linebacker Eric Kendricks said. “We knew what kind of players we had. We knew how close we were getting at times. We just weren’t finishing.” Less than a month...

Ujiri said that despite good conversations with Canadian health officials, playing at home in Toronto would not be in the best interest of Canadians navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. “We commit to continuing our work together, planning for a safe return to play in Toronto,” Ujiri wrote, adding that, “For now, I’ll ask you to cheer for us from afar.” Sports Illustrated confirmed that the Raptors only committed to beginning the season...

Sebastian Vettel finally secured a podium at the Turkish Grand Prix. Until Imola, Vettel has had a forgetful season with Ferrari. He came close to a podium at Imola, but a 13.5-second pit stop took that away. He finally stepped on a podium at Istanbul. He overtook Charles Leclerc with just 2 corners to go to finish P3. Vettel has won 4 World Championships driving for Red Bull. He will move to Racing Point/Aston Martin come 2021 in the hopes of improving that stat. In a recent interview, the German was asked about the possibility of his retirement. He replied, “I’m 33 now, at 40 I don’t want to drive anymore. So anything between three and seven years could be realistic.” READ MORE- Schumacher Unveils the Breaking Point in Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari’s Relationship Sebastian Vettel has always strived to be faster than others Sebastian Vettel also talked about his...
ROME (AP) — Chievo Verona and Udinese were among the pioneers in terms of showing how far a provincial club could go in Serie A by relying on smart scouting, a strong youth system and intelligent transfer moves. Atalanta took that to the next level by reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League this year. Now, Sassuolo is shaping up as the next surprise in the Italian league. Undefeated through seven matches, Sassuolo sits in second place entering a visit to Hellas Verona on Sunday and is tied with Atalanta atop the league chart with 18 goals scored. “You want to know the truth? Sassuolo is still at 60% of its capacity,” coach Roberto De Zerbi said. After winning 2-0 at Napoli this month without three key attacking players — Domenico Berardi, Francesco Caputo and Filip Đuričić — De Zerbi has reason to boast. Looking back, Sassuolo’s rise was already...
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Whether it’s a high school football field or volleyball court, simply getting two teams on them to play each other has been a challenge in recent weeks for many schools. Bill Tschida is the athletic director for Farmington High School. “Our section has 14 volleyball teams in it that would normally play in section playoffs. We’re down to five schools right now because of districts already making decisions to pause their falls sports, delay winter sports starting,” Tschida said. “You’re just waiting for the next phone call to come and the school’s going to be telling you they can’t compete.” Totino-Grace High School athletic director Mike Smith says their football team was supposed to play Tuesday night, but its opponent, Hopkins High School, had to pull out due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the team. That allowed the Eagles to advance in a post-season tournament likely to...
If the Jets begin another coaching search in a few weeks, as most expect they will, a familiar name is sure to come up. Jim Harbaugh has played a role in each of the last three coaching searches conducted by the Jets. There is reason to believe he will be a prominent name mentioned again this time around. Harbaugh is in the midst of the worst season of his coaching career. His Michigan team is 1-3, the school’s worst start since 1967, two years before the legendary Bo Schembechler arrived in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines were embarrassed Saturday by Wisconsin, their 28-0 halftime deficit the largest in the 93-year history of the Big House. It feels like Harbaugh’s time at Michigan is coming to an end. He has one year remaining on his contract after this season, has never beaten rival Ohio State and has failed to develop a quarterback...
ABC For the first time since its premiere in 2014, Bachelor in Paradise did not air this year. When production was delayed on The Bachelorette amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the dating show’s Mexico-based iteration was bumped from the schedule. Host of the dating franchise, Chris Harrison, is now providing a positive outlook on the show’s return in 2021. He recently spoke with Heavy while promoting his new collection with Manly Bands. “Man, your lips to God’s ears,” Harrison said when asked if Bachelor in Paradise will return next year. “Obviously that is our goal, that’s our plan and that’s our wish. We want to get back on schedule. We are back on schedule for the most part now as soon as we finish up Matt’s season of The Bachelor. You know, we’ll be back in our regular orbit.” While The Bachelorette aired months later than is typical, Matt...

James Harden fans are checking the news nonstop. Woj reported that Harden is considering leaving the Houston Rockets. After coach Mike D’Antoni and Rockets GM Daryl Morey left their position, Harden is unsure what direction the Rockets want to go in. Additionally, rumors say Russell Westbrook also wants to leave to an offense where he has more of the ball in his hands. Things look very bleak for the Houston Rockets, who seem close to blowing up the whole operation and beginning a rebuild. Yet, the news of Harden possibly leaving is the worst-case scenario for Rockets fans. Harden is one of the greatest players in the history of the Rockets franchise. He brought the Rockets out of a major slump and made them consistent playoffs and finals contenders. Knicks lose out on Chris Paul, but one free agent could fit the bill perfectly By: Alexander Wilson November 16, 2020 ShareTweetFlipRedditSeveral blockbuster moves were made right off the bat, with trading opening up across the NBA on Monday afternoon. Star point guard Chris Paul was traded to the Phoenix Suns, leaving Russell Westbrook as the next big thing on the market. Paul, who is making over $40 million per season, was also linked to the Knicks, who were reportedly open to consuming a contract of his size. Missing out on Paul is not necessarily a bad thing, as the Knicks should look to pay less and acquire more talent than aging veterans. The reality is, New York is not ready to win now, and making a big splash move like acquiring Chris Paul would only hurt their cap space and further put...
Drew Brees will miss game action for the second time in his many years with the painful injury to his ribs he suffered against the 49ers on Sunday. Last season, the Saints went 5-0 when Brees was out with a thumb injury with Teddy Bridgewater starting at quarterback. Can they expect similar results with Jameis Winston as the top passing backup in 2020? As much as not having Brees this late might feel like it hurts, the Saints also have been given a chance to find out whether Winston — and not Taysom HIll — is a potential longer-term replacement for Brees, as early as 2021. MORE: Jameis Winston vs. Taysom Hill: A comparison Brees had been playing well before going being knocked out of the game vs. San Francisco. But he had been getting the job done with a lot of short-to-intermediate passing, playing well off the team’s strengths in the backfield and run defense....

It’s our thing,” Lesseps said. “I think that a lot of people bond over Housewives, but we bond over Dancing with the Stars. My mother is going to be 92 this December. So seeing...
Who would have thought that back in 2014 when Lewis Hamilton replaced Michael Schumacher at Mercedes, he would go on to win 6 Drivers’ Championship titles with them? Yet, here we are, the incredible Hamilton has managed to equal the legendary German’s record in Turkey. The Briton always had the talent and the skill, but he seemed to unlock something special with the Brackley-based outfit. His development has, quite frankly, been amazing, both on and off the track. This is something Lewis’ long time race engineer, Peter Bonnington, alludes to as well. Bonnington recalled his first time meeting Hamilton and spoke about the man he was back then in 2014. He said, “It felt like he was a rockstar walking in. Looking back at the pictures, you just think, wow, this is Lewis. The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the lottery teams that are seriously aiming to end their playoff drought in the 2020-21 NBA season. However, as of now, most people would agree that it would take more than Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell for the Timberwolves to have a realistic chance of making a huge noise in the loaded Western Conference next year. Luckily, they are currently in a strong position to make major roster upgrades this offseason. Using the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Greg Patuto of NBA Analysis Network suggested that the Timberwolves could target Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors. In the proposed scenario, the Timberwolves would be sending a package that includes Jarrett Culver, James Johnson, Josh Okogie, the No. 1 selection, and a 2022 first-round pick to the Raptors in exchange for Siakam. “If there is one specific area where the Minnesota...
