DANCING On Ice star Faye Brookes fears she's ‘the new Caprice’ and coming off ‘like a villain’ after Hamish Gaman’s exit. Pals of the  former Corrie actress, 33, are concerned she has been portrayed as "desperate to win" after her pro partner Hamish's shock exit from the show. 6Hamish quit the show this week after an injuryCredit: Rex Features Faye fears she is being tarnished with the same brush as DOI contestant Caprice, 49, who was accused of 'bullying' Hamish last year. It comes after the pro skater, who was originally paired with the former Coronation Street star, quit the competition through injury earlier this week. A source told The Sun: "It's quite upsetting. Faye's hardworking, humble and not 'desperate to win' as she has been portrayed. "Faye doesn't complain and just gets on with the things she is given to do. So now she is coming off as desperate to...
The stream of COVID-19 vaccine is swelling slightly in California but remains a trickle for those trying to get their first dose, according to officials. Forecasts discussed Wednesday showed California should receive 1.28 million vaccine doses next week and 1.31 million the week after. Both those figures are up from the state’s last shipment, which was about 1.08 million. The expected uptick, though welcome, won’t come close to the supplies necessary to clear California’s existing vaccination queue — let alone handle the millions more who will become eligible to receive the shots roughly a month from now. “What we need is more manufactured supply,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said this week. California Do I still need to wear a mask after being vaccinated? We answer your questions California Do I still need to wear a mask after being vaccinated? By MATTHEW DALY and ELLEN KNICKMEYER, ASSOCIATED PRESS WASHINGTON (AP) — Deadly weather will be hitting the U.S. more often, and America had better get better at dealing with it, experts said Wednesday as Texas and other states battled winter storms that blew past the worst-case planning of utilities, governments and millions of shivering citizens. This week's storms — with more still heading east — fit a pattern of worsening extremes under climate change and demonstrate anew that local, state and federal officials have failed to do nearly enough to prepare for greater and more dangerous weather. At least two dozen people have died this week, including from fire or carbon monoxide poisoning while struggling to find warmth inside their homes. In Oklahoma City, an Arctic blast plunged temperatures in the state’s capital as low as 14 degrees below 0 (-25 Celsius). “This is a different kind of storm,'' said...

New Yorkers should brace for another week of sloppy wintery weather. Forecasters are predicting treacherous, wet, icy blasts for the metro area that will continue over the next few days. “Tonight, we’ll see a little bit of sleet and freezing rain coming in — that will continue into early tomorrow,” Accuweather senior meteorologist Tom Kines said Sunday. “I don’t think it’s a lot of precipitation, but it certainly could be enough to make sidewalks and untreated surfaces slick,” he said. The freezing rain is expected to turn into regular rain as temperatures climb Monday — before another wave of even nastier weather. “A more significant precipitation event is coming Monday night into Tuesday,” Kines warned. “When the more significant precipitation gets here Monday night, it will be in the form of sleet or freezing rain. “It’s going to be a slow go traveling-wise Monday night and into the commute on...

BOSTON (CBS) – So far, the coronavirus vaccine rollout in Massachusetts has been a bit bumpy, but it is moving along. On Monday, Phase 2 starts. The map below is the sites where the vaccines will be given. You pick the site closest to you, and sign up. But there are still many people that have questions. In Attleboro, Mayor Paul Heroux has made arrangements for their own mass vaccination site and is cautiously optimistic. “Looks like we are...
Tony Romo usually sticks to calling plays before they happen. Now he’s moved on to calling Super Bowl matchups well before they are finalized. After the Week 12 game between the Buccaneers and Chiefs — Kansas City won by a final score of 27-24 — the CBS analyst predicted the two teams would meet again at Raymond James Stadium for Super Bowl 55. Romo left himself a little wiggle room with his phrasing, but it’s clear he saw something in the Bucs that day that led him to believe they could go on a deep playoff run. SUPER BOWL 55: Pick, prediction, odds for Chiefs vs. Buccaneers “Do you want me to make a slight guess here?” Romo said during the broadcast. “I think there’s a better, there’s a better than good chance — I don’t know what even that percentage is — that these two are gonna be here in Tampa [for the Super Bowl]. OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Friday that Pfizer Inc’s Chief Executive Albert Bourla has reassured him it would supply Canada with 4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine as scheduled by March 31, though the coming weeks would be challenging. Pfizer, which is retooling a European manufacturing plant, told Canada on Tuesday it would receive none of the vaccine – developed in partnership with Germany’s BioNTech – next week, promising more pain for provinces already complaining about a shortage of supplies. Trudeau, under pressure from federal opposition parties and some provincial premiers to do more to address the shortage, said he had spoken with the CEO and received confirmation the supplies would arrive. The company had given Canada similar indications on Tuesday. “The next few weeks will be challenging when it comes to deliveries,” Trudeau told reporters. “That said, Dr. Bourla assured me that hundreds of thousands...

Last week's deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol was not an act of racism, nor was it an insurrection. It was not an armed invasion by a brigade of dangerous White supremacists. Those are lies. Why are they demanding that you believe those lies? When your doctor claims that your broken arm is stage IV pancreatic cancer, you need a second opinion. When he demands that you get chemotherapy, you need to run away, because something very dark is going on. Indeed, something dark is going on right now. What happened last week was not new or unusual. In fact, it was sadly familiar. The riot was the perfect illustration of why we should oppose all mob action. Left uncontrolled, mobs boil over, violence erupts, and people get killed. That's what always happens. It has happened many times through human history. That's the way mobs are. Wise leaders know that, and it's why they don't...

The security perimeter around the U.S. Capitol after last week's siege is currently keeping the public entirely away from the building. The insurrection at the U.S. Capitol last week may have been just the beginning of a flash tide of violent far-right insurgency in America—probably culminating around the time of Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20—if the internet pronouncements of the ideologues fomenting the insurgency are anything to judge by. Even as the conspiracist far right promoting Donald Trump’s false claims that he lost the election fraudulently was massively de-platformed this week—with Trump himself being suspended from Twitter and Facebook and the right-wing social media platform Parler losing its internet service—the seditionist rhetoric and open organizing of armed resistance to Biden’s inauguration has spread and intensified, including plans for armed takeovers of state Capitol buildings in various states as well as in Washington, D.C. The post-Christmas surge of coronavirus cases is worsening considerably in Los Angeles County, a much-feared scenario that officials say will result in more patient crowding at already overwhelmed hospitals and an increase in deaths. The coming days are expected to be critical in determining how bad this next surge will get and how much it will affect conditions at hospitals. On Thursday and Friday, L.A. County reported 18,764 coronavirus cases and 17,827 cases, respectively — significantly above the average of about 14,000 new cases a day over the last week. “This very clearly is the latest surge from the winter holidays and New Year’s — no question about it,” said L.A. General Hospital spoilers tease that viewers have a lot of good stuff to look forward to seeing during the week of December 28. There are no new episodes airing on Thursday or Friday of this week due to the Christmas holiday. However, new shows return on Monday and it sounds as if things will be pretty wild. The situation regarding Sonny will surely be front-and-center during the coming days. General Hospital teasers indicate that Carly will struggle when Chase shows up to talk to her about Sonny. It sounds as if she will manage to keep what she knows to herself, but her concerns about her husband’s whereabouts will continue to escalate. According to SheKnows Soaps, Britt will struggle to make a tough decision. The sneak peek for Monday’s General Hospital revealed that she will meet up with Jason. She will mention needing to make sure she’s on the right...
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have reached the precipice of the No. 1 seed in the AFC and a coveted first-round bye with a nine-game winning streak that includes some heavy hitters with Super Bowl aspirations of their own. The Bills and the Bucs. The Saints and the ‘Fins. So while records alone suggest the Chiefs finally get a breather to finish off the regular season, facing the losing Falcons and the Chargers next week — both at Arrowhead Stadium — both Kansas City coach Andy Reid and Atlanta counterpart Raheem Morris are in agreement that Sunday’s game could be far tighter than the more-than-10-point spread. “We have to maximize ourselves against a team that’s playing hard,” Reid said. “These games they’ve lost, over half of them have been in the fourth quarter. They’re taking teams right to the end there.” Besides, the Chiefs (13-1) tend...

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – California is expected to receive about 900,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine this week, with about 165,000 of that going to Los Angeles County. Frontline health care workers at Garfield Medical Center in Monterey Park, Calif., receive their first doses of Pfizer vaccine in a pop-up tent outside their main facility on Dec. 18, 2020. (Getty Images) Gov. Gavin Newsom said Sunday the state expects to receive 672,000 doses of the newly approved Moderna vaccine this week. The state also expects to receive 233,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Los Angeles County expects to receive 48,750 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week, according to the L.A. County Department of Public Health, along with 116,600 doses of the just-approved Moderna vaccine. The first Pfizer vaccines were administered in California on Dec. 14. L.A. County received 82,873 doses of the Pfizer vaccine last week. The Moderna vaccine arriving this...
WATCHING Gareth Bale jogging around against Leicester the other day I was struck by one thought: You don’t get much for £650,000-a-week these days. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Kicker Brandon McManus is due back this week from the COVID-19 reserve list, and while that won’t settle the Denver Broncos’ cornerback conundrum or quarterback quandary, it will at least provide some normalcy in a wacky season waylaid by injuries and coronavirus concerns. “Brandon is still going through the protocols. If he keeps progressing the way he has been, we’ll have him back this week,” coach Vic Fangio said Monday. Fangio added that Taylor Russilino, the 31-year-old rookie who had a dismal NFL debut while subbing for McManus in Denver’s 48-19 loss to Buffalo on Saturday, will revert to the team’s practice squad. Russolino missed three of four kicks, a 51-yard field goal and two extra points, and his short second-half kickoff helped turn a tight game into a trouncing. The Broncos (5-9) felt good about their chances against the Bills (11-3) when they came out...
CHICAGO (CBS) — After getting the Pfizer COVID vaccine earlier this week, another COVID vaccine will be coming to Illinois next week, the Moderna vaccine. “Assuming a favorable outcome and based upon the federal government’s likely delivery schedule, Illinois hospitals can expect their Moderna shipments sometime early next week,” Pritzker said. “This is yet another very very exciting development, and they reinforces and it brightens the light at the end of the tunnel.” The governor said the Moderna vaccine is 94% effective with people getting two doses two weeks apart. Both the governor and Doctor Ngozi Ezike said that long term care facilities should expect to get vaccines the week of December 28. Ezike said that despite that more people will be vaccinated in the future, this is not the time to let your guard down and disregard COVID restrictions. “I know you’re tired of me saying it. I may...
SCIOTO — A flicker of light can perhaps be seen at the end of a months-long tunnel in the county’s battle against the coronavirus. The virus, which has taken the lives of 39 Scioto residents and caused economic and mental health distress, has possibly met its match with the arrival of vaccines starting next week. According to a release from the Scioto County Emergency Management Agency on Friday, that day could come as early as Monday, Dec. 21. Portsmouth City Health Commissioner Chris Smith, returning from military service, filled-in Portsmouth City Council on the latest of getting the vaccines to the area. “I thought by the time I got back, it would be all over, but actually, the second half is probably just getting started,” he said to kick-off the Dec. 14 session. In total, the Portsmouth City and Scioto County Health Departments will each receive approximately 500 Moderna vaccines...

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — More than 1,200 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to health care workers at 16 Pennsylvania hospitals, the state health secretary said Thursday, while dozens of other hospitals across the state are waiting to receive more than 96,000 doses by the end of the week. No adverse health effects have been reported in the state among those who have gotten the shot so far, Dr. Rachel Levine said at a news briefing. “Things are moving smoothly in Pennsylvania,” she said. Levine said this week’s snowstorm did not hold up delivery of the state’s initial allotment of 97,500 doses to 87 hospitals, adding the delivery schedule was set by Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s vaccine development program. The state anticipates weekly shipments of the new Pfizer vaccine and a second vaccine from Moderna that is expected to win government approval. But Levine said the...
CHICAGO (CBS) — The number of Pfizer vaccine doses headed to Illinois in the second half of December is about to be cut in half. It’s a two week setback. This does not change the first batch coming to Illinois this week, which is expected to be about 109,000 doses. It affects the next two weeks. Gov. JB Prtizker called it disappointing news for the state’s COVID-19 effort. “I now no longer fully believe projections that are put in front of us by the federal government,” Pritzker said. The estimate of 8 million doses is being dropped nationally to 4.3 million. “Consequentially we will have a resultant drop,” said Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike. “Our final numbers have not been concluded.” The news will also not impact the doses heading to Illinois this week. The cuts in projections are limited to the weeks of Christmas and New Years. It’s...

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The first doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine are expected as soon in Oklahoma during the coming week, perhaps by Wednesday, the Oklahoma State Department of Health said following emergency approval of the vaccine by the Federal Drug Administration on Friday. The state expects about 33,000 initial doses of the vaccine, according to health commissioner Dr. Lance Frye. “This is great news, and we’re optimistic about the arrival of the vaccine in Oklahoma,” Frye said in the statement. “Oklahomans should feel confident in receiving this vaccine when it becomes available to them.” Side effects from the vaccine can include pain at injection site, shivering, fatigue or fever, said Dr. Doug Drevets, chief of infectious disease at OU Health. “These vaccines have very few serious side effects, side effects so bad that you might have to take day off from work,” Drevets said. Somehow, there are only four weeks left in the regular season, which feels like quite an accomplishment given the number of coronavirus cases the NFL has had to deal with lately. This kind of crazy environment can make it harder for teams to focus and lead to some serious upset potential. Tennessee, who we warned in this space last week, fell victim to the upset when they fell to the Browns at home despite being favored by six points. Which teams should be on upset alert in...
(CNN)President-elect Joe Biden said Monday that he planned to announce his nominee for secretary of defense on Friday, and signaled that he could also name his pick for attorney general earlier in the week. "I'll have an announcement for you on Wednesday and Friday," Biden told reporters in Wilmington, Delaware, when asked when he would announce his picks for attorney general and defense secretary. He specified his pick for defense secretary would be named Friday. CNN has reported that there are three people in final contention to lead the Pentagon: Michèle Flournoy, a veteran Pentagon official who served as under secretary of defense for policy in President Barack Obama's administration, Jeh Johnson, a former secretary of Homeland Security, and Lloyd Austin, a retired Army general who led Central Command during the Obama era. Top U.S. health officials are urging Americans to be patient, with the nation's first coronavirus vaccine as little as days away from approval.  Even if Pfizer's shot gets greenlit after Food and drug Administration (FDA) officials review the firm's trial data on Thursday, the vaccine won't be an instant silver bullet to reduce the number or people dying from COVID-19 in the U.S., Dr Anthony Fauci warned on Monday.  'It's likely you're not going to see a measurable diminution for at least several weeks or if not longer,' Dr Fauci said during a CNN interview.  'But it will come, I guarantee you.'  In the meantime, Surgeon General Dr Jerome Adams begged Americans to be patient and not let their guards down in the final moments before the arrival of vaccines.  'My colleagues are dog tired and we need you to hang on just a little bit longer because we've got...
State officials nationwide have begun announcing that initial doses of coronavirus vaccines, namely that of Pfizer, are expected in the coming weeks pending the FDA's approval.  The news coincides with a vote by a panel of independent experts advising the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday that health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities will be the first to receive the long-awaited coronavirus vaccine. The recommendations now must be approved by CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield before the vaccine can be distributed to states and ultimately to the groups as part of the Phase 1A distribution plans. He has signaled that his approval will come after the FDA's decision.  Nevertheless, states across the nation have been releasing their preliminary rollout plans. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, for instance, on Tuesday said his state will start to receive its first share of 1.4 million doses during the week of Dec, 14, per a press release....

The sky will be cloudy and the day will be breezy, with wind gusts up to 35 mph. It is only expected to get as warm as 34 degrees. Tuesday will warm up a bit, but the expected high temperature is still just 37 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. It’ll be sunny. The Giants are set up for this stretch run. They are as healthy as they have been all season, with reinforcements arriving on defense. Their second-year quarterback is showing signs of getting it. They are on a two-game winning streak and sat back on Thanksgiving Day and got the result (Washington over the Cowboys) that benefits them in the wacky NFC East race. Up next, Sunday in Cincinnati, is a game with the Bengals — non-contenders who just lost their star rookie quarterback to a devastating injury with franchise-wide repercussions. It seemingly is all coming up Giants. They can move into first place, for at least one day, if they beat the Bengals. To accomplish this less-than-Herculean mission, all the Giants have to do is make sure they remember to bring their A game with them coming off their bye week — a task surprisingly more difficult than it...
NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- New York City Mayor de Blasio said public schools will reopen to students "school by school" with rolling plan to be announced next week.Public schools have been closed since the city hit a 3% positivity rate last week."We will find a way back through this pandemic because we've proven we can keep schools safe, but we will have to come back in a different way given some of the challenges we are facing with this second wave bearing down on us," de Blasio said. "Next week we will put forward that plan. It will take a lot of engagement with parents. We will need a lot of help from parents, but we know parents want their kids back in school. They will be our partners."Earlier, parents held a rally and protest outside Gracie Mansion. They're demanding a plan from Mayor Bill de Blasio on how...
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Parents say they are fed up and frustrated that New York City schools are closed. They want kids back in classrooms Monday. Parents, students and community leaders rallied outside Gracie Mansion Wednesday morning to demand the mayor reopen schools. They say the schools are safe, and claim students are caught in a political power struggle. Getty Deshaun Watson playing against the Patriots in 2020. The Detroit Lions are pushing towards a vital Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans, and the anticipation for this tilt might not be great considering both teams have struggled in a major way so far this season. Safe to say there isn’t a ton of hype when a 4-6 team gets set to play a 3-7 team, but this game is important for Detroit from the standpoint that the team still theoretically has playoff hopes alive and a loss would likely end that mirage for yet another year prematurely. So how can the Lions manage to pull off a win and perhaps save their coaching staff for another week? Here’s a look at the matchups that will determine this game.Lions Defensive Backs vs. Texans Wide ReceiversThough the Texans moved on from DeAndre Hopkins, they...

Getty Rashaad Penny is nearing his return to the Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks continue to get reinforcements as key players are getting healthy. Running back Rashaad Penny along with defensive end Darrell Taylor appear to be next in line to return to the field. It sounds like Taylor is slightly ahead of Penny but both players are expected back in the coming weeks. Carroll indicated that Taylor has a good chance to play against the Eagles in Week 12. “From the information I’m getting, we’re pretty sure Darrell is coming back,” Carroll noted, per Seahawks.com. “I’m not sure if Rashaad’s going to get back this week coming up or the next week, but they’re really close.” Neither player has played this season, and Taylor is still waiting to take his first NFL snap. The Seahawks moved up in the second round to select Taylor in the 2020...
CHICAGO (CBS) — With the 60s now in the rearview mirror, a more autumn-like stretch is coming heading into the Thanksgiving holiday next week, with rain and snow in the mix through the middle of next week. Light rain will arrive tonight, mainly south of the city, and could mix with some light snow early Sunday morning as temperatures fall into the lower to middle 30s overnight, but no accumulation is expected. (Source: CBS) We’ll dry out Sunday afternoon, with cloudy and seasonably cold temperatures, and a high in the middle 40s. The next system arrives late Monday night into Tuesday, with snow possible at the onset, but changing to rain Tuesday afternoon, possibly bringing minor accumulations. On Thursday, the number of new cases of COVID-19 exceeded 190,000 for the first time. Barring several states simply refusing to report, it’s all but certain that on Friday the United States will go over 200,000 new cases. Thursday also saw the first day in which over 2,000 Americans died from COVID-19 in a single day since the first week of May. So the nation has now reached an unmatched number of cases and returned to the high fatality counts of the first surge. But even though the current outbreak is wide based and resistant to action by any single state government, the spike in cases is anything but even.  A) States that have have imposed fewer restrictions have many more cases of COVID-19. B) States that are high consumers of right-wing media have many more cases of COVID-19. Unsurprisingly, A = B.  And nowhere is that more true than...

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Here comes some colder weather! One cold front moved through Sunday night and brought some gusty and damaging winds along with it. A secondary front will arrive Tuesday, and this front will bring the coldest air of the season thus far to central Maryland. Winds will shift out of the northwest on Tuesday. As the front arrives, clouds will increase and a flurry can’t be ruled out for areas north and west. We are forecasting a high around 46 in Baltimore on Wednesday, and that will be the coldest high temperature that we have seen in Baltimore since February! It will get even colder Wednesday night. Many of us will wake up Thursday morning with temperatures in the 20s as the jet streams dips well to the south. This weather will likely be a “shock to the system” for many of us. Not to worry...

Tim Walz strongly indicated during the Monday opening of a new saliva testing center in Minneapolis that he will soon announce restrictions on bars and restaurants as a way of stemming an explosion of COVID-19 infections in Minnesota.  Walz stood with Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm to announce another expansion in testing, this time at the Minneapolis Convention Center, but both officials further lamented an increase in both infection numbers and positivity rates. The state saw 10,000 new infections over the weekend and passed a 10 percent positivity rate. Walz said health department information is seeing three infection sources: social events such as weddings and funerals, large family gatherings and bars and restaurants. The latter dovetails into another concern of health...

Now we will see a change coming this week with a cold front moving in and a wet, not flooding rain, but wet period Wednesday evening through Friday morning. Then cooler temps into and through next weekend. But what a run of Spring like temps this mid-Autumn. As for the rain, mid-week and beyond, we actually need it. Very dry conditions are not what trees need going into the colder weather, to be honest about it, so even that is a...

There aren’t many chances to take an undefeated team this late in the season as an underdog. And the Steelers are getting more than a field goal in a huge showdown against the Baltimore Ravens. The betting breakdown at BetMGM is predictable. The Steelers are getting 79.5% of the bets and 76.9% of the money against the Ravens. And somehow the line is getting higher as it moves toward the Ravens, even though less than a quarter of the action is on them.Line moves in Ravens-SteelersThe line had been at 3.5 points, in favor of...
The Big Ten made a positive impact in this week’s college football conference power rankings. With the Big Ten’s triumphant return, the college football world was so much better for it. The good news for the Big Ten is Ohio State is outstanding, Michigan looks to be legit and Wisconsin is as good as ever. The bad news is Penn State could have some problems, Minnesota may have been overhyped and the Michigan State Spartans could be in for a rough year. I mean, Mel Tucker lost his first game in East Lansing to Greg Schiano’s Rutgers Scarlet Knights. 1 Southeastern Conference Four Ranked Teams Best Team: Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 2) Even though the same four teams are ranked from the week prior, no other Power 5 conference has four teams ranked inside of the top-10 than the SEC. The Alabama Crimson Tide remain undefeated, while the Florida Gators,...
Getty Matt Prater celebrates a big 2016 win against Indianapolis. The Detroit Lions have won back to back games, but they remain much maligned in terms of the oddsmakers as they push toward the midway point of their season in Week 8. This week, the Lions take on the Indianapolis Colts who are coming off a Week 7 bye, and no doubt the Colts had time to scout the Lions a bit and watch their game this weekend. Perhaps for those reasons, Detroit is still seen as an underdog heading into this weekend despite seemingly getting hot at the right time. Early lines favor the Colts by 2-3 points. It’s a narrow margin, but it represents an early disadvantage for the game this coming weekend. Vegas opens early line, favoring Colts over Lions by 2. COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Anthony Lynn and the Los Angeles Chargers are rested and ready to go after their bye week. As for the team’s health, that’s another matter. The Chargers had some of their injured starters return to the practice field Wednesday as preparations ramp up for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but this remains a banged up team that is looking to snap a four-game losing streak. “There are a couple starters we may get back (this week) but mostly guys are still healing,” Lynn said. Lynn is hoping defensive end Melvin Ingram and defensive tackle Justin Jones can return this week. Ingram (knee) and Jones (shoulder) have been designated to return from injured reserve after missing the past three games. Lynn said both players participated in individual drills Wednesday with their workload increasing depending on their progress. If both players are moved to the active...
NASA scientists will announce an “exciting new discovery” about the moon in a virtual press conference on Monday, the agency said Wednesday. The news will be announced by NASA in a 12 p.m. teleconference that will also stream on the its website, a statement said. Further details about what the announcement will include were not released — but NASA teased that the discovery will contribute to “efforts to learn about the moon in support of deep space exploration.” “Understanding the science of the moon also helps piece together the broader history of the inner solar system,” NASA added. The agency intends to send the first woman and another man to the lunar surface in 2024, a landing it says will prepare it for a Mars exploration by the 2030s. Earlier this month, NASA said it had awarded a number of US companies $370 million in contracts to help ensure the...

Epic Games Epic Games tends to do something different in each Fortnite season in an effort to help them stand out from one another. In Season 4, we saw the addition of a bunch of Marvel superheroes and with that came a bunch of Mythic weapons and items that helped spice up the loot pool. If you’re in the final group of players, it shouldn’t be surprising to see people rocking Iron Man’s Unibeam or Doctor Doom’s Gauntlets as these are among the most powerful weapons in the game. Throughout the season, Epic has been adding even more to the pool, with Black Panther’s Kinetic Shield being one of the most recent ones. It looks like the next update will bring a few more into the game, if leaks are to be believed.More Abilities On the Way The "Fire Ball" & "Fire Jump" abilities will probably be added...
Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton told Fox News’ “Watters’ World” on Saturday that “winter is coming” for Big Tech “oligarchs” who engage in censorship. The New York Post was censored by social media giants last week after alleging that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, met with a top executive of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2015. While Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey eventually declared the poor messaging “unacceptable” and the social media network ultimately allowed the story to be shared, the censorship has led to renewed calls to punish so-called Big Tech for supposedly running afoul of their role as digital platforms. Referring to such warnings and even past congressional hearings on the issue which have led to no tangible results, host Jesse Watters asked Cotton, “What’s gonna be different this time?” WATCH: “I think most Republicans and conservatives have always thought these big companies...
