Tesla is poised to become a powerhouse in the automobile industry as the world is ditching gas-powered vehicles for electric, but a new technology could overthrow the Elon Musk-owned company. Called Blue gas, it is a liquid hydrocarbon fuel consisting of carbon monoxide and oxygen that can be used in vehicles built from 2002 – and it is 100 percent emissions free. It also propels vehicles 300 miles on a full tank, while Tesla’s power system provides up to 250 miles on a full battery, on average. Blue gas does not involve lithium, or batteries or rare earths, takes a shorter time to fuel up and lasts longer than electric vehicles – making it a potential ‘Tesla killer.’ Scroll down for video  Blue gas is a liquid hydrocarbon fuel consisting of carbon monoxide and oxygen that can be used in vehicles built from 2002 – and it is 100...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is signaling support for the House Democratic impeachment effort that includes an article charging the president with 'incitement of insurrection.' Word of the powerful Republican's posture came Tuesday as the House prepared prepared to take up an impeachment article Wednesday – with signs that several Republicans will back it.  McConnell worked successfully to scuttle the  impeachment effort during a trial last year on different charges, and follows reports that McConnell never wants to speak to Trump again after the Capitol riots that had Trump supporters invading the Capitol, trashing leadership offices, and endangering the lives of lawmakers. It’s the starting tool for any DIY project – a multi-functional sander. But why the Easy Sander 12? First it is a delta type sander (due to its triangular shape), which makes it easy to carry out work on small surfaces and very precisely. In fact, the triangular tip can be easily removed and rotated to extend the life of the sanding plate and sheet. At the same time it has a contact closure system to remove the sanding sheet and replace it quickly. A slight pressure is enough and it is replaced. Another advantage is that it is wireless and your battery is 12 volts. Most cordless DIY tools have 12 or 18 volt batteries. While the latter have more power, the reality is that they take longer to charge, are more expensive and consume their useful life much sooner. On the other hand, the...
With the weather getting colder, I have officially broken out my mixer and started baking. Nothing compares to a fresh out of the oven muffin, cinnamon bun, or cookie while snuggled up underneath a blanket on a chilly winter day. However, this year my baking has officially been upgraded (in the best way possible) thanks to my new wireless mixer. Unlike previous years where I was tied to my outlet, this year I can bake from literally anywhere. Sounds crazy, right? Well, it’s far from it. Kitchen Aid’s new wireless hand mixer has quite literally changed my baking game. Needless to say, my life is made ten times easier by having the ability to walk around the kitchen and mix while I grab a missing ingredient. Aside from that, I can now use it on the other end of the counter (where no outlet plug is present) or mix next...

This article is reprinted by permission from NerdWallet. Electric cars now drive farther, charge faster and come in nearly every price range. But when GMC GM, +5.44%   began promoting its Hummer EV pickup truck to be released this year, it became even clearer that electric cars are primed to go mainstream. Once the domain of environmentalists, then early adopters, EVs may soon have even truck bros kicking the gasoline habit. Here are the essential questions to answer before you do. (Full disclosure: I’m a convert myself after six years and 70,000 gas-free miles.)1. Can you afford an electric car? Dr. Vivek Murthy, a former U.S. Surgeon General and the head of President-elect Joe Biden’s coronavirus advisory board, called for universal mask mandates in August. In addition to calling for a nationwide mandate, Murthy also tweeted that the federal government should be producing masks for Americans to use free of charge in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. 3 key points on masks and #COVID19: 1. Masks are low cost life savers. 2. We need universal mask mandates. Waiting for an outbreak to mask up is acting too late. 3. Me at Hashtag United. Barnaby Lane Premier League broadcasters have begun charging an extra $20 per game to watch fixtures outside of the regular television schedule. Instead of paying this weekend, I chose to go and watch Hashtag United, a team in the ninth tier of the English soccer pyramid. A Texas grand jury has indicted streaming giant Netflix over "Cuties," which it says has a "prurient interest in sex," according to a Deadline report on Tuesday. "Cuties," an award-winning French film that centers on four 11-year-old girls in a "sensual dance" troupe, is rated TV-MA in the U.S. — for mature audiences only. Netflix, however, is standing behind the controversial production. What are the details? The Texas Rangers served Netflix with a summons on Oct. 1, according to Tyler County District Attorney Lucas Babin. A portion of the indictment says that the film — as well as Netflix CEOs Reed Hastings and Ted Sarandos — "knowingly promote visual material which depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual...
A grand jury indicted Mark and Patricia McCloskey on Tuesday for brandishing their weapons and tampering with evidence. The grand jury indicted the St. Louis couple on a weapons charge, as well as tampering with evidence, according to the Associated Press (AP). The indictment comes after St. Louis Circuit attorney Kim Gardner charged both Mark and Patricia with one count of felony unlawful use of a weapon in July, arguing the display of guns threatened the mostly peaceful protesters, per the AP. The McCloskey’s made headlines in June after a video showing the couple brandishing their weapons at Black Lives Matter protesters who reportedly trespassed onto private property went viral. The McCloskey’s disagreed with Gardner, claiming they feared for their lives. “I was terrified that we’d be murdered within seconds,” Mark said in an interview with KMOV in June. “Our house would be burned down, our pets would be killed.”...
On this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) urged his Democrat colleagues to allow for a “respectful process” for the confirmation of Supreme Court associate justice appointee Amy Coney Barrett. Kennedy argued the process should proceed, given election “have consequences.” “[To] Debbie [Stabenow] and my colleagues in the Senate,” he said. “I hope they let us have a respectful process. We don’t need another freak show. I mean, I hope they won’t get into the foothills of KiKi and bring back Michael Avenatti and all that other stuff. Let us focus on the nominee. Now to answer your question, I’m rather fond of the Constitution. I have read it. Its provisions about filling a Supreme Court vacancy are unaffected by the electoral calendar. I realize that on both sides, Brit, there’s been a lot of circumlocution and attempted Churchillian rhetoric about the president to be followed...
Scientists have created a miniature 'wind turbine' that 'scavenges' energy from a breeze created during a brisk walk.  The 'nano-generator', which is made of two plastic strips in a tube, captures and stores wind energy to power electronic devices.  It's inspired by giant wind turbines that convert the kinetic energy of wind into power, but it shrinks the concept down to something that could be worn around the wrist.  The nano-generator has already been used to power LED lights, and in the future could charge electronic gadgets on the go, including smartphones.    Scroll down for video  Currently, the research team's device can power up 100 LED lights and temperature sensors The Chinese engineers behind the device think the abundance and cost-effectiveness of wind should be made use of by new smaller devices.  Currently, the device can power up 100 LED lights and temperature sensors.  'You can collect all the...
President Donald Trump, without any basis in fact whatsoever, stated that Gov. Steve Sisolak (D-NV) will rig the 2020 election in his state. The president made the claim on Fox & Friends Tuesday. Responding to a question from Ainsley Earhardt who asked the president to address critics who called him out for holding an indoor rally in Nevada on Sunday night, Trump claimed that Sisolak stopped the campaign from using one of the four or five outdoor sites under consideration for the event, and forced the rally to an indoor venue supplied by a “great supporter” who didn’t care about facing pressure from the governor. Trump went on to rip Sisolak. “The governor of the state tried to make it impossible for us to have a rally,” Trump said. “Democrat. Rather liberal Democrat, and a political hack. And he tried to make it difficult.” Trump went on to state,...
Valentina Palladino Battery Fitbit claims the Charge 4’s battery can go seven days with regular use, and five hours with GPS enabled. This was reinforced by both Valentina’s and our users’ experiences. Valentina still had 20 percent battery after three days (which included a few hour-long GPS sessions), while Dan said he was “just a couple of hours short of seven days since my last charge and I still have 28 percent of the battery remaining.” However, he also found that “the built in GPS takes like 20 percent of the battery on an hour long walk … This was disappointing. Then Fitbit released an update that lets me use the GPS on my phone instead of the built-in GPS. Problem solved.”  GPS Mark had the opposite experience, finding the GPS antenna “woefully weak and inadequate for the task at hand.” He was frustrated by the time the watch took...

Last night Donald Trump accepted the Republican coronation in an extravaganza whose central theme was “Farewell to democracy.” In a genuinely horrific display of authoritarian ownership, Trump not only filled the South Lawn with white chairs—and equally white supporters—but bracketed the White House with enormous LED signs surely secunded from their normal roles of advertising mattress sales along the interstate. Then Trump-themed fireworks burst over the National Mall. It was gaudy. It was sickening. It was deeply, intrinsically tacky. In front of the Vegas-ified White House, Republicans delivered a night of lies which repeatedly turned to one theme: We wouldn’t be in this mess if Trump was in charge. The pandemic, the economic collapse, the violence… all could be solved if someone like Donald Trump was at the helm. Gee, what a shame Trump isn’t here to steer this ship out of the storm some absolute jackass got it into. As Joe...

(CNN)Tesla announced late Monday that its new Model S Long Range Plus sedan became the first electric car to be certified by the EPA to drive more than 400 miles on a single charge. But that milestone may not actually mean that much to consumers. A number of electric vehicles already on the market get more than 200 miles of range, which many experts feel is enough to give car shoppers sufficient comfort. A game changer is coming for electric car owners "For an EV, anything over 200 miles is going to be more than enough for almost everybody," said Sam Abuelsamid, an EV industry analyst with the consulting firm Guidehouse Insights. And for those car shoppers that still aren't comfortable, even with a driving range of more than 200 miles, the jump to 400 isn't going to help, said Jessica Caldwell, an analyst with Edmunds.com.Read More"That difference between 100 to 200...

A white Mississippi police officer who fatally shot a black man during a 2015 car chase was captured on bodycam video apparently using a racial slur to describe him, according to newly released evidence. Officer Canyon Boykin fatally shot 26-year-old father Ricky Ball following the chase in Columbus, north east of Jackson, back in October 2015.  The evidence related to the case was only made public over the weekend and comes just weeks after Mississippi's Attorney General dropped a manslaughter charge against the officer.  The case was dropped 'with prejudice' on May 28, meaning it can't be revived, after Republican Attorney General Lynn Fitch said there was evidence Boykin had shot Ball in self-defense.  The decision to drop the charge prompted protests in the same week that George Floyd demonstrations erupted across the United States. Ball's killing also sparked demonstrations in Columbus, a mostly black city of 23,000 in northeast Mississippi, at the...
