Former President Trump told Fox News late Sunday that he expressed concern over the crowd size near the Capitol days before last month's deadly riots and personally requested 10,000 National Guard troops be deployed in response. TRUMP TALKS AT CPAC Trump told "The Next Revolution With Steve Hilton" that his team alerted the Department of Defense days before the rally that crowds might be larger than anticipated and 10,000 national guardsmen should be ready to deploy. He said that-- from what he understands-- the warning was passed along to leaders at the Capitol, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi-- and he heard that the request was rejected because these leaders did not like the optics of 10,000 troops at the Capitol. The Brooklyn Nets enter Saturday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks riding an eight-game winning streak. They are easily one of the best teams in all of basketball, and they have an opportunity to take home the NBA title in 2021. Kevin Durant and the newly acquired James Harden are two of the greatest players in the league. And point guard Kyrie Irving is among the best players as well. Nets teammate Jeff Green sat down for a Q&A with the New York Post and explained why he believes outsiders may misinterpret Irving to be someone he’s truly not. "Everybody’s different in this world, everybody has their own opinions on certain things, everybody has their own way of living," Green explained to The Post. "When people don’t like the...

Getty Kyrie Irving drives past Collin Sexton of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brooklyn Nets star guard Kyrie Irving has been an exceptional player for the greater majority of his career, and so far, this season has been no exception. Even after some personal problems at the beginning of the season, he’s still performing at an extraordinary level, something that has come to be expected of him. Irving is currently the Nets second-leading scorer, with 27.5 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists on the star-studded squad. Irving has shown that he is still one of the greats in today’s league; According to his head coach, Steve Nash, he’s even better than one of the greatest guards in NBA history.Steve Nash Thinks Kyrie Is More Skilled Than Allen IversonIn an interview with Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the former Phoenix Sun claimed that Kyrie was better...
Getty Kyrie Irving reacts to a call against the Miami Heat Kyrie Irving has been the subject of much criticism for much: buring sage before games, missing several games earlier this month and a host of other things. But his talent is undeniable on the basketball court. The Brooklyn Nets point guard is currently averaging 29.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals for a 10-8 Brooklyn Nets team that currently sits in fifth place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings. Are the criticisms warranted? “They give Kyrie Irving a hard time because he’s so fucking talented man,” Cuffs The Legend told me on the Scoop B Radio Podcast. “It’s like the Chris Brown thing. You know how talented Chris Brown is and you remember when he went through his crackhead phase right before our eyes? It’s like, Damn man. Stop doing drugs and make the music...
Kevin Durant was optimistic about the Brooklyn Nets’ first game with their new Big 3. On Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets‘ new Big 3 assembled for their highly anticipated debut … and lost. Sure, it took two overtimes and a career-high 42 points (including 20 straight in the extra periods) from Collin Sexton to defeat the Nets, but a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers probably wasn’t what this Eastern Conference contender had in mind for its first game with Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving on the court together. Even so, KD is still plenty optimistic about their first game with the Big 3 active. “It felt right. It felt perfect. It felt like we belong together,” he told reporters via Zoom after the game. “It felt like this journey together is going to be fun. Tough first start … it was an up and down game for us. But I...
Kyrie Irving rejoined the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, saying he took a leave of absence because he "just needed a pause." Irving practiced with the team and could play Wednesday in Cleveland. The Brooklyn Nets‘ newest superstar, James Harden, made his big debut tonight. In the absence of Kyrie Irving, Harden put up spectacular numbers in his opening game with the Nets, with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. With his scoreline, Harden became the first player in NBA history to record a 30-point triple-double in his debut for a new team. Matt Barnes wants Kyrie Irving traded Harden wasn’t the only one balling out against the Orlando Magic. Kevin Durant posted 42 points and 5 assists, making him the first Nets player to go nine consecutive NBA games scoring 25 or more points. Outgoing U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told the Washington Post that security officials in the House of Representatives and Senate denied his request to ask the National Guard to be ready to help ahead of last week’s attack on the U.S. Capitol. “If we would have had the National Guard, we could have held them at bay longer, until more officers from our partner agencies could arrive,” Sund told the Post. Sund said Senate Sergeant at Arms Michael Stenger suggested he have informal talks with National Guard officials to have personnel on alert in case they were needed, and that House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving expressed discomfort with how it would look to formally declare an emergency ahead of the planned demonstrations by President Donald Trump’s supporters. The newspaper said Stenger declined to discuss the matter when approached for an interview, and that it was unable to reach...
Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has had his fair share of issues with the media, as well as former teammates. But current teammate Joe Harris had nothing but positive things to say about Irving as a man on-and-off the court. "I think a lot of times a lot of things that he’s done has just sort of been taken out of context a little bit," Harris said during an appearance on the "Tiki & Tierney" show. "Behind closed doors, he really is a real consistent guy. He comes in, he busts his tail every day, he competes every day in practice. Like all of us, it’s not like we’re all hitting on all cylinders every single day. There’s some days where he might be a little off here and there, but at the end of the day, he’s a great dude, great teammate, and he comes in and competes and...
Before the Nets opened the season against Golden State, all the attention was on Kevin Durant’s Achilles. Now with Kyrie Irving’s Christmas Day return to Boston, the scrutiny will be on the All-Star’s attitude. Irving will demure he’s not the Nets leader. Salty Celtics fans will claim he couldn’t lead if he tried. But here’s the thing: The way Brooklyn is built — with Durant’s quiet nature and the departure of several steadying veterans — Irving is going to be looked to whether he wants to admit it or not. “You look up after practice and Kevin, Ky are always out there. Caris [LeVert] is following them closely and is extremely hard-working,” coach Steve Nash said. “Our guys have great routines, they have great focus and they definitely are influenced by the amount of work and effort that Kevin and Ky put in.” While both Durant and Irving put in...

Kyrie Irving always finds himself in the thick of media attention- it doesn’t matter if he’s playing with the Boston Celtics or the Brooklyn Nets. Kyrie always finds the media surrounding him be it for on-court issues or something else.  A lot of negative comments are being passed at Kyrie over his recent actions. If one needs a reminder, the Nets player decided to boycott talking to the media and consequently faced a fine for his actions. However, Kyrie took a bold step after being slashed with the fine. The Raiders got their first look at defensive end David Irving in an actual practice Wednesday and coach Jon Gruden wasn’t inclined to make any predictions about a future role on the 53-man roster. A 6-foot-7, 290-pound edge player, Irving was signed Tuesday to the Raiders’ practice squad just two days after being reinstated by the NFL for being in violation of the league’s policy on substances of abuse. Irving last played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, when he went on indefinite suspension after two games. Irving later said his suspension was for marijuana use and he was critical of the league’s position in that regard. Since Irving’s suspension, the NFL reduced its frequency of marijuana testing pre-season only as well as increasing the nanograms necessary for a positive test. The bottom line for the Raiders is Irving, 27, had 12 1/2 sacks as a...
