Rainforests are some of the most vital resources on this planet, supporting an abundance of mineral, animal, and plant lifeforms, and providing us with around 28 percent of the oxygen we breathe. Many indigenous communities depend on trees for their livelihood and sustenance. Vast “carbon sinks” such as the Amazon rainforest take in large amounts of the greenhouse gases that would otherwise push the temperature of our planet to a dangerously high level: a scenario which is sadly coming to pass right now, largely because we have been desecrating the planet’s ancient forests for the most trivial reasons you could imagine. Palm oil is a commodity found in approximately 50 percent of all consumer products, including pet food, cleaning fluids, cookies, and snacks. It is highly valued for its versatility and was even used in the production of toxic napalm during World War II. However, this convenience comes at a terrible price....

He was a super-vain fashion tycoon famous for his flamboyant outfits, so the extent of Peter Nygard's downfall was painfully clear as he shuffled into a Canadian courtroom in shackles on Tuesday. He was dressed in a grey sweatshirt and prison-issue tracksuit trousers, his trademark flowing mane of grey hair scraped back into an untidy bun. The Finnish-born retail mogul's emotions were difficult to gauge behind his white face mask as a prosecutor in Winnipeg detailed why he should be extradited to the U.S. to face charges that he sexually assaulted dozens of teenage girls and women for decades at his sprawling Bahamas and Los Angeles homes. As 79-year-old Nygard, who has previously denied allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering against him, languished behind bars yesterday, he cannot be the only one deeply regretting his arrest. The discovery forced authorities to separate the two jailbirds who had grown close as they served out their sentences in adjoining rooms. But Christa Richello, Tallman's fiancée, tells DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview that Watts and Tallman are merely good friends who found each other in prison and they are not lovers.  ‘I can definitely prove that my fiancé is not gay, and...
Jimmy Butler is the answer to ending the Miami Heat’s slump since the departure of LeBron James in 2014. He has led the team to the NBA Finals and now he will take on the man that last brought Miami a championship. Coach Erik Spoelstra has been raving about Butler and how he fits in with the team. He spoke to the LA Times and had this to say: “So much of this league is just about alignment. Who cares what you believe in? Who cares what your culture is? Can you acquire a group of people that are aligned in whatever that vision is? And you need your leaders to embody those qualities, whatever they may be. And Jimmy Butler embodies those qualities just like all the Heat players of our great past have done before: Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem. He just embodies these qualities...

Aslam Baba told followers in Ratlam that his “kiss-cure” would make all their ailments disappear — even the deadly new coronavirus, according to The Print. The Baba — a common term for a wise elder — tested positive for the bug on June 3 and died the following day, the report says. Officials tested at least 40 people who had been in contact with him, The Times of India said. “Twenty of them, including seven of his family, have tested positive,” the health department’s Ruchika Chouhan told the paper, stressing other tests were still awaiting results.
