punish people:

By FRANK JORDANS, Associated Press BERLIN (AP) — Calls are growing in Germany to punish people who squeeze to the front of the line for COVID-19 vaccines after several cases in which officials allegedly queue-jumped and received shots while millions of people wait for their turn. The head of a trust that operates three hospitals in northwestern Germany apologized to staff members Wednesday for getting vaccinated ahead of doctors and nurses at the facilities. German public broadcaster NDR reported that fewer than 400 of the 2,500 staff members at the hospitals in Aurich, Emden and Norden have gotten vaccines so far and the ones still waiting include employees who work in intensive care units and COVID-19 wards. The trust's chief executive, Claus Eppmann, said he accepted an invitation to get a shot on Jan. 9, the first day a hospital received vaccine supplies, and that he has since received his...
BERLIN (AP) — Calls are growing in Germany to punish people who jump the vaccine queue, after several cases in which officials allegedly squeezed to the front even as millions of others are waiting their turn. Public broadcaster NDR reported Wednesday that managers at clinics in northwestern Germany got their shots ahead of doctors and nurses. NDR reported that fewer than 400 of the 2,500 staff at the hospitals in Aurich, Emden and Norden have so far been vaccinated, and those still waiting include some of the doctors and nurses working on wards treating intensive care and coronavirus patients. The public trust operating the three clinics said the managers were given vaccines that risked being spoiled if unused, but didn’t immediately explain why the doses weren’t offered to frontline staff. The incident follows the sudden departure of a senior Red Cross manager in Hamburg after criticism that he had obtained...
Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson compared those pushing to impeach former President Donald Trump to “a bunch of third graders” on Fox News Tuesday. Carson said on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” that Trump’s Senate impeachment trial, which is set to start in February on whether he should be convicted of inciting an insurrection, “makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.” “The man’s already out of office,” Carson said. “And yet we’re spending all this time and effort on that because we must punish him. And then the other side will say well, we must punish you. It’s like a bunch of third graders. It’s so, so tiring.” The former Housing and Urban secretary said no problems will ever be resolved if people keep blaming and reacting against each other. “What is a little troubling is people are always finding ways to stir up the problem so that we...
IT’S funny how the tables can turn isn’t it? Just one month ago this country was being bullied by the EU — and France in particular. Under the guise of Covid the French President tried an early punishment-beating of this country for daring to leave the EU. Huge backlogs of trucks began to form at Dover. ???????? Read our Brexit live blog for the latest news & updates 5The EU has threatened to cut off vaccine supplies to Brexit BritainCredit: Rex Features How happy some of our still bitter Remainers were at the sight. This was what they wanted. They wanted the British to have supply issues. They wanted us to be made to learn a lesson. They wanted the British to be forced to learn the error of our ways. Well here we are a month later, and how different everything looks now. Thanks...
Supporters loyal to President Donald Trump clash with authorities before successfully breaching the Capitol building during a riot.John Minchillo/AP Let our journalists help you make sense of the noise: Subscribe to the Mother Jones Daily newsletter and get a recap of news that matters. In the hours after a mob of pro-Trump insurrectionists stormed the Capitol on January 6, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary tweeted that its top searches included “coup d’état,” “putsch,” and “treason.” On the top of the search list, however, was the word “sedition,” which Webster’s defines as “incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority.”  The word appeared frequently during the period after the violent attack that left five people dead. President-elect Joe Biden said their action “borders on sedition.” During a press conference the following day, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi condemned President Trump for “calling for this seditious act.” The word has appeared in the headlines of...

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle lashed out at a group of Republicans who recently held an indoor gala in her home state of New Jersey amid national spikes of coronavirus cases.  Last Friday, the New York Young Republican Club went across state lines to have their soiree in Jersey City, which led to a public spat between Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Flor., who was one of the high-profile attendees.   Appearing on her program on Monday morning, Ruhle, who announced on her show that she and her family were recovering from the coronavirus, pressed Gov. Murphy about repercussions she appeared to want in place.  MSNBC'S KASIE HUNT PANNED FOR SAYING SHE'S 'STRUCK' HOW BIDEN 'AS A RULE, DOESN'T LIE' "The New York Young Republicans couldn't hold the event in New York because the rules wouldn't permit it, but they held the gala here in our state," Ruhle began.             by Julie Strauss Levin  Joe Biden portrays himself as Israel’s ally and a friend of the Jewish people. Obama did the same when he was running for president and then he played bait and switch.  It’s time voters wizen up because Biden vows to repeat the Obama-Biden playbook on Israel and the Middle East.  It’s even worse: today’s Democrat party leadership has taken a major turn to the left. They are no friend of the Jewish people here or in Israel. A quick history lesson is instructive:  In 2008, Candidate Obama pledged Israel’s security was “sacrosanct” and “non-negotiable” with “secure recognized defensible borders,” where Jerusalem would “remain” Israel’s capital and “must remain undivided.”  Fast forward, months later in 2009, then President Obama wasted no time abandoning his empty words.  Embarking on their true agenda, Obama-Biden declared a “serious problem” existed precisely because there was no...

FOR most people, cheating is the ultimate deal-breaker in a relationship - and something lots of couples can't come back from. But according to sexpert Nadia Bokody, infidelity is just a "natural" human instinct. 2Nadia claims cheating is 'a natural urge'Credit: Nadia Bokody In her News.au column, Nadia wrote: "Our desire to have sex with people other than our spouse is as innate as the urge to breathe." Instead of breaking up the second someone cheats, she claims we should all take a "softer approach" and see infidelity as a "fracture not beyond repair". Speaking from experience, the sexpert revealed that she has once cheated in a previous relationship and was targeted by trolls when she spoke about it online. Although she doesn't regret her infidelity, Nadia wrote: "It exerted immeasurable agony on my partner and eradicated the trust that had blossomed over the course of our relationship." 2The sexpert...
Thursday, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson discussed the collapse of American cities and why the local government and media responses to that deterioration have been ineffective or as if nothing was happening at all. Carlson argued part of the reason for that was a response to the outcome of the 2016 presidential election that gave us President Donald Trump. Transcript as follows: CARLSON: Ever notice how the people who run our country seem so fervently concerned about problems that are totally irrelevant to your life? If you are like most Americans, you are wondering how to pay your credit card bill, how to afford your kid’s student loans. You’re trying to keep your family together in a society that seems to be spinning apart. You’d like to watch college football next month. Those of the problems most people worry about, but not our leaders. In their world, a 16-minute phone...
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday it has launched a “comprehensive investigation” into allegations that a renegade group of deputies calling themselves The Executioners have taken control of the department’s Compton station through threats, intimidation and harassment. The announcement came at a news conference in which Sheriff Alex Villanueva and others also said letters ranging from orders of suspension to termination have been sent to 26 employees involved in a fight two years ago that allegedly also involved members of similar deputy gang. “I am here to strongly denounce alleged deputy subgroups and cliques commonly known as deputy gangs,” said sheriff’s Chief Matthew Burson, adding that the department is conducting an investigation into the so-called Executioners gang at the Compton station. “However, our intent is to examine the department in its entirety,” he said, rattling off the names of several deputy...
by Angela Kelley  Leftists are trying to destroy America, her Constitution, her honor, and the patriots who love her. The corrupt leftists are on the streets of blue cities and are Democrats in positions of leadership in the United States government. The chaos you’ve seen on television every night for nearly two months (or not seen lately if you watch mainstream media) is horrifying, but it is routinely ignored—if not encouraged—by the leadership of the Left. “People will do what they do,” Nancy Pelosi said regarding the mob’s destruction of a Christopher Columbus statue on Independence Day. The everyday American (of whatever hue) is rightfully horrified at the amount of criminal activity he sees daily on the streets of once-great cities. Riots and a surge in violent crime combined with the Wuhan virus leave many people afraid even to go to their mailboxes. We are staying away...

Amy Cooper called 911 on a Black man who told her to put a leash on her dog on May 25, 2020. She has since been called a "Karen." Melody Cooper/Twitter A San Francisco lawmaker is proposing legislation called the "CAREN Act" to punish people who call 911 on nonwhite people for discriminatory reasons. The Act would criminalize people who call law enforcement "solely to discriminate on the basis of a person's race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity," the draft law says, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "This is the CAREN we need. Caution Against Racially Exploitative Non-Emergencies," tweeted Shamann Walton, the member of the city's board of supervisors who proposed the act. Making false 911 calls is already against California law, but the act would see the San Francisco Police Code updated to make it illegal to "fabricate false racially biased emergency...
