What would you do if you came across hundreds of spiders in your daughter’s room? Post video of them and become international news, if you’re one Australian mom. Claudia Domrose of Sydney, Australia discovered hundreds of newly-hatched huntsman spiders on the walls and ceiling of her daughter’s room, and posted video of the creepy-crawly nursery online. She explained to Australia’s News9 that not only wasn’t she going to kill the spiders, her daughter actually slept in the room that night. “We just left them there because they are baby huntsman, I actually like huntsman, so I was like, I’m not going to do anything,” the makeup artist from Germany said. “They’re just going to walk away… let nature be.” Claudia said her daughter joked she wouldn’t sleep in the room again. However, she did sleep in the room, choosing to sleep at the opposite end of her bed. Well,...
CHASSELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A cemetery in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is making more room for so-called green burials. The Chassell Township cemetery in Houghton County has sold out of the approximately 40 sites that were created five years ago. The cemetery has added more than two dozen plots in a wooded area, The Daily Mining Gazette reported. “Interest in green burial is increasing, and it’s important to us to respond to the needs of our community,” said Joseph Youngman of the Chassell Public Works Department. Green burials refer to burials that do not use embalming fluids to preserve the body or cement vaults. The body typically is buried in a biodegradable container or a cloth shroud, according to the Keweenaw Green Burial Alliance. The burials are usually less expensive than a conventional burial. "Chassell Township has done an excellent job of creating burial areas that appeal to people’s sense...

NEW YORK -- Fresh off the group date rose, Noah was basking in the glow of his success on the date he wasn't even supposed to be on. The other men weren't as happy for him as he obviously was for himself. Chris Harrison told the men that it was a good lesson that Tayshia likes "bold." He also told all of the men who weren't on a group date yet that they had to write a love song for Tayshia. The one who spoke to her heart the most would win a one-on-one date with her. Kenny is a boyband manager, so maybe he could have an advantage?Competing for a One-on-OneZac pretty much banged on a box, but sang a cute little song. Kenny's wasn't very good. Brett played the accordion and it was awful. Riley did some spoken word. Bennett did a rap and it was very awkward....
Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators didn’t use the locker room at Vanderbilt. Teams might not love traveling to Nashville to play the Vanderbilt Commodores in football, but it is rarely because of what Derek Mason provides on the field, as their visiting locker room has frequently been compared to that of a small high school. Not willing to put his team in that environment, Florida head coach Dan Mullen chose to voice his displeasure in a very public fashion. At halftime of No. 6 Florida’s matchup against Vandy, Mullen refused to lead his team into that cramped locker room. This comes after he showed up to the stadium at the last possible minute and warmed up without pads on in order to minimize time spent in that locker room. Blair Sagan makes art out of trash and has an uncanny ability to turn the worst situations into something positive. From April to August, the non-binary artist, activist and graphic designer lived at Night Window, a new artist housing project, in a motel room converted into an $800-a-month live-work studio apartment at 8400 East Colfax Avenue. Upon moving in, Sagan (who uses "they" pronouns), thought it would be a semi-collective space where creatives could come together and build community. Instead, they found the residents were isolated from each other. "I moved in here thinking this was a dream, and I wanted to start something similar and learn what they're doing right and wrong," says Sagan. "It turned into a nightmare pretty quickly."Related Stories Denver Artists Are Being Priced Out. Is This Colfax Motel a Fix? A MUM has revealed how her husband surprised her with a giant bed after they struggled to sleep together with their toddler in their normal king size bed. Tatiana Tsuruta, 36, from Sydney in Australia, said she has bed-shared with her 15-month-old daughter Evelyn since she was six-months-old as she struggled to sleep. 7 A doting dad made a ‘mega floor bed’ to sleep in with his wife and toddlerCredit: Tiffany Wallis Co-sleeping allowed the stay-at-home mum to still breastfeed Evelyn - and she said her husband Fabio, 40, never questioned her decision. However the sleeping arrangement in their king size bed didn’t seem to work for the whole family as Fabio, an engineer, couldn’t get comfortable and moved to the spare room. The mother said the new set up wasn’t ‘perfect’ as she wished they could all sleep together as a family but Evelyn would wake up in...

When you’ve been writing about home design for as long as I have, certain expressions really begin to wear — like “bring the outdoors in.” Please, living in the tropics with three dogs, I spend a good amount of time taking the outdoors back out, sticks, mud, mosquitoes, frogs. Another worn expression is “then just add a pop of color.” Next time I hear a designer say, “just add a pop of color,” I’m afraid I’ll say right back, “I’ll give you a pop of color. Where would you like it?” I’m sorry, but the words “just” and “color” don’t belong in the same sentence. First of all, picking a background wall color is already triple-black-diamond difficult, but selecting a look-at-me accent color, that perfect-pitch purple pillow, is way harder. And would someone please define ‘pop’? I picture the living room after a game of paintball. So when a design...
