A North Jersey farm owner arrested on a slew of animal cruelty violations last month says he loved the animals and cared deeply for them, according to a new report. Carlos Rocha, 54, was charged Jan. 26 after an inspection at his farm on Jackson Valley Road in Mansfield Township revealed filthy living spaces, animals with untreated injuries, cows with no food access, several dead calves and many other horrifying conditions. Rocha, of Union Township in Union County, had previously been warned about the conditions but failed to address them, causing them to worsen, police said. However, Rocha in an interview with the Daily Record said it had been his dream to own a farm after growing up on one in Brazil and maintains that he “cares deeply” for the animals. "I spent money to buy [the animals]. Why would I treat them bad?" he reportedly told the New Jersey Herald....

However, his antics off late have him reduced to a meme, and he does not help himself in that regard.  From his very public splat with Darren Till to appointing his inexperienced girlfriend as his sole cornerman in fights, Perry has made a lot of questionable decisions off late. Nonetheless, Perry still remains one of the top fighters in the welterweight division.  Despite the recent criticism, Perry is very confident of his prospects. ‘Platinum’ recently took to Instagram to make a case for him being the ‘GOAT’ in mixed martial arts.  His reason being, “Saw this thing, It was like, It was McGregor and Khabib’s opponent’s records. And now in their second matchup with the Utah Jazz, the Knicks star put up incredible numbers on the board, enough to make it a record-breaking performance. Austin Rivers sets the standard In the first week of January, the Knicks were set to play the Utah Jazz. So when Rivers put up 23 points, 14 of which came in the fourth quarter, everyone thought they had seen Rivers’ limit. The question popped up: could he get any better than this? The second season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has just begun, but there has already been quite a bit of drama this season between 27-year-old Brittany, an underground rapper from Palm Beach, Florida, and her 24-year-old fiancé, Yazan, who lives with his family in Jordan. While appearing on an episode of People TV’s Reality Check, the reality personality said a lot of the drama actually stemmed from dishonesty. After watching the show, she learned that Yazan had told his Muslim family that she would be willing to convert to Islam before they got married, so when she arrived in Jordan, the family already had expectations that she wasn’t prepared to live up to. “To watch the show and see him tell his parents that, I was like, ‘So, this is where a lot of issues are coming from,'” she said. “I feel like we should kind of...

(AP) – Vince Carter made his retirement official on Thursday, announcing on his podcast that his 22-year NBA career has come to an end. The announcement was largely a formality because the 43-year-old Carter had said many times over the course of this season that this would be his last in the NBA. His 22 seasons are the most in league history, and he became the first NBA player to appear in four different decades. Carter appeared in 1,541 NBA games, behind only Robert Parish (1,611) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) on the league’s all-time list. He started his career with Toronto, then played for New Jersey, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis, Sacramento and spent his final two seasons with Atlanta. Carter’s first season was the 1998-99 campaign, which was shortened to 50 games because of labor strife. His final season was shortened by the coronavirus pandemic, and the Hawks will not...

The confirmation will mark Trump filling all vacant circuit court seats. They've designed their perfect judicial nominee: He's young, white, male and incredibly conservative, with a record...

"We can't be complacent or smug or suggest that somehow it's so obvious that this president hasn't done a good job because, look, he won once, and it's not like we didn't have a good clue as to how he was going to operate the last time," Obama said. He implored the audience to get engaged with Biden's presidential campaign, declaring that "whatever you've done so far is not enough." The fundraiser marked Obama's official return to the presidential campaign trail and underscored his unmatched popularity within the Democratic Party. Biden, who appeared virtually alongside Obama at the event, said it raised a record-breaking $7.6 million from more than 175,000 individual donors. Trump's Dallas fundraiser earlier this month raised north of $10 million for the...

Getty Mike Zimmer was recently ranked the 20th best NFL head coach by FanSided. When Mike Zimmer was named head coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014, he had his work cut out for him, inheriting a team that went 5-10-1 in Leslie Frazier’s final year and was 18-30-1 since Fraizer’s first full season as head coach in 2011. Zimmer turned the Vikings into a playoff team in two seasons and has since made the playoffs every other year, compiling the 10th best winning percentage among active coaches (.589). FanSided’s Russell S. Baxter recently made a coaching power rankings list and felt Zimmer has been inconsistent, ranking him the 20th best coach in the NFL: “He’s been at the helm of the Purple Gang for six years. Joe Biden hauled in a record amount at a virtual fundraiser on Monday evening with the help of former Democratic presidential primary rival Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Bob Dylan, “Rough and Rowdy Ways” (Columbia) It may have seemed after three-straight records covering traditional pop standards that Bob Dylan didn’t have much left to say. But, true to form, Dylan surprises yet again by delivering a late-career masterpiece with “Rough and Rowdy Ways.” It’s a moody, reflective, meditative, befuddling, funny and awe-inspiring turn for the Nobel Prize winner. Rich with biblical and pop culture references, at its core “Rough and Rowdy Ways” is a record on the borderline of this world and the next, wherever or whatever that may be. “I’ve stood between heaven and earth and I’ve crossed the Rubicon,” Dylan sings on “Crossing the Rubicon,” one of several ruminations on mortality. On the darkly funny “My Own Version of You,” Dylan channels Dr. Frankenstein for a macabre tale of creating, quite literally, what the title suggests. On the gorgeous “Mother of Muses,” the 79-year-old Dylan...
His statements came in a week of law-and-order rhetoric mixed with heavy doses of misinformation as he stretched to blame unrest on radical leftists and to put three loaded words — "defund the police" — in the mouth of a Democratic rival who doesn't support them. The unrest over the death of George Floyd in police custody has not only amplified the debate over police brutality and racial injustice in the United States, but has also spilled over to the presidential campaign trail as both presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Trump battle to demonstrate leadership -- and a record -- on these issues. In recent weeks, Biden has emerged from his Delaware home following isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic to cast himself as a champion of civil rights even as his campaign still faces questions about his record that were raised during the primaries. "Nothing about the fights we're facing will be easy. Racism has been a fixture in our society for hundreds of years. But I’m ready to get to work on day one. We can’t accept anything less from an American president," he tweeted Wednesday. For his part, Trump has sought to project a...

The episode left Trump fuming and threatening reprisals against the platform he uses constantly to hint at or lay out policy, talk up his record, sound off on critics and spread conspiracy theories and misinformation. And in the same week that Twitter gave Trump a pass on his baseless innuendo about a broadcaster, the organization was left juggling fraught questions about freedom of expression and when and how to gag a president.
