A growing number of states and members of the U.S. Congress are backing legislation to protect female athletes from competing against men who consider themselves to be transgender women. This is in contrast to President Joe Biden’s focus on expanding “gender identity” rights, including allowing them to serve in the U.S. military. Biden also took early action to decide executively that Title IX, a statute to protect women from discrimination because of their biological sex at schools receiving federal funds, also protects “gender identity.” Politico reported on the bill in at least six states and included talking points favored by LGBT activists who deny the reality of two sexes, i.e. “sex assigned at birth” and “limiting opportunities for transgender athletes”: Lawmakers in Kentucky, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Tennessee have introduced bills, and possibly more are in the works, according to the ACLU. The Montana House on Monday passed...
Republican Rep. John Fuller As the nation continues to struggle against the novel coronavirus pandemic, Republican lawmakers in Montana are finding time to double down on a fight that has quietly taken root among state conservatives across the nation. What fight? Keeping transgender youth out of sports that align with their gender identity. One example, as tends to be the focus: keeping transgender girls and women out of girls’ sports. Montana’s latest attack is actually on two fronts: one bill, House Bill 112, is focused on youth sports, while the other House Bill 113, is even more dangerous. House Bill 113 is focused on denying gender-affirming medical care to transgender youth—and as we know, this kind of healthcare can literally be life-saving. These bills passed on second readings on Monday, with 112 passing on a 62-38 vote, and 113 passing 53-47. Both bills have one more vote in the House before they would advance to the Senate...

A group of more than 150 business owners are reaching out to state lawmakers to oppose the bill. The group of business owners — which includes leaders at Yellowstone Growth Partners, an information technology businesses; Hatch, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mentorship and networking; and ClassPass, a company that helps people access fitness classes — plan to release the letter to the Montana House Judiciary when it holds a hearing for the two bills. CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A federal lawsuit filed Thursday alleges West Virginia’s Medicaid and state employee health plans unlawfully denied coverage for gender-confirming care for two transgender residents. The suit argues the state is violating the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid law by not covering treatments for gender dysphoria. Christopher Fain was denied coverage for his testosterone prescription under Medicaid, according to the complaint, after he was diagnosed with gender dysphoria in late 2018 and began transitioning to reflect his gender identity as a man. The 44-year-old paid for it out of pocket. To avoid being misidentified as a woman and to treat his diagnosis, he also sought a bilateral mastectomy, but his Medicaid plan excludes it from coverage, the suit says. A second plaintiff, Zachary Martell, is married to a state employee with health care coverage that similarly does not cover a bilateral mastectomy to treat his gender dysphoria...

Former Vice President Joe Biden said during a town hall hosted by ABC News on Thursday night that eight-year-olds should be allowed to decide that they are transgender. Mieke Hacke, a voter from Pennsylvania, asked Biden the following “question”: Haeck: I’m the proud mom of two girls, eight and ten. My youngest daughter is transgender. The Trump administration has attacked the rights of transgender people, banning them from military service, weakening nondiscrimination protections, and even removing the word “transgender” from some government websites. How will you, as president, reverse this dangerous and discriminatory agenda and ensure that the lives and rights of LGBTQ people are protected under U.S. law? Biden: I will flat-out just change the law. Eliminate those executive orders, number one. You may recall, I’m the guy who said — I was raised by a man who, I remember, I was being dropped off, my dad was a high...

Justin Eisenberg, deputy chief for the Los Angeles Police Department's West Bureau, also announced that Willie Walker, 42, was arrested in Hollywood on suspicion of extortion. "What was particularly callous about these crimes was the actions of the onlookers, who are recorded and appear to celebrate the assaults rather than render aid and assist the victims," Eisenberg told reporters in a news briefing Thursday. Proponents of children questioning and even changing their biological sex have produced a musical compilation dubbed Trans and Nonbinary Kids Mix to benefit a summer camp in New Hampshire that caters to parents who believe young children can choose their gender. According to the LGBT Foundation, children understand and should be counted in this category:  Non-binary is used to describe people who feel their gender cannot be defined within the margins of gender binary. Instead, they understand their gender in a way that goes beyond simply identifying as either a man or woman. Some non-binary people may feel comfortable within trans communities and find this is a safe space to be with others who don’t identify as cis, but this isn’t always the case. Musicians set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for the project, with proceeds going to Camp Aranu’tig. So far, the site shows they...
