ABC/Rick Rowell, Craig Sjodin Victoria Larson, Nick Viall and Anna Redman. Once a franchise “villain,” former Bachelor Nick Viall usually reserves passing character judgments on contestants. Yet, during his recent episode recap on The Viall Files, he shared his opinion that “Queen” Victoria Larson and Anna Redman are “trash.” While editing can sometimes distort a situation, Viall told his podcast guest Lauren Zima, “You look at Anna and Victoria, it is clear that there is so much data and so much information and so many comments from them about their behavior and the things they said that I’m comfortable with saying that I think Anna and Victoria are just kind of toxic, they kind of have garbage character traits.” He continued, “I think there’s a lot of insecurities and I think there’s a lot of nastiness at their cores as humans and I am not interested.” Larson has...

DEAR HARRIETTE: I live in a gated community. Recently, I noticed that my neighbor lifted the top off my garbage can and looked inside. I don’t think he put anything inside or took anything out, but it was just odd. Harriette Cole  I have a Ring doorbell and decided to put my trash can closer to my door so that my camera would pick up any movement. Over the last month, this same neighbor has gone into my garbage can each week. I can never tell why, or if he has checked other cans, but it has made me very uncomfortable. I know who he is and where he lives, but I am not sure if I should approach him about it or if I should just file a complaint with the police? What’s the right course of action here? Local election workers admitted the mix-up, which affected 9 ballots, was an error on their part. Trump's war on mail-in voting this week turned out to be all for naught after election workers in Pennsylvania admitted to an envelope mix-up that Trump had initially claimed was part of a broader fraud scheme. On Thursday morning, Trump complained about the supposed mail-in voter fraud on Fox News radio, claiming that ballots cast for him had been recently found in the trash. "They found six ballots in an office yesterday in a garbage can," he told host Brian Kilmeade. "They were Trump ballots. Eight ballots. In an office yesterday in a certain state. And they were. They had Trump written on it, and they were thrown in a garbage can."
A trio of New Jersey garbage men was caught on now-viral video busting out moves in the middle of the street while working. As singer Cupid’s 2007 dance hit the “Cupid Shuffle’’ blared from speakers on the Roselle Sanitation truck in Keansburg in Monmouth County last week, the workers boogied while emptying residents’ trash cans. “I was kind of going through something, and I’m looking around, everybody’s moping, and they’re sad,” recalled one of the sanit workers, William Watson, to TV’s News 12 New Jersey. “[So] I started dancing. Then he started dancing, then he started dancing,’’ Watson said of his coworkers. “We didn’t even know we were being recorded.’’ One of the trash men-with-moves, Rodrick Samuels, said he bought a music speaker for the truck  last month for about $120 after telling his coworkers, “Let’s motivate ourselves some more.’ “It’s worth it,” he said of the speaker. “Music is...

We can blame the coronavirus pandemic and shelter-in-place order for a lot of things, but thankfully, it has not produced a sudden invasion of rats. We might be more aware of them than usual, in our home-all-the-time state, but the number of rats we have now is about the same as in any given year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had warned of waves of rats flooding into residential areas early on in the pandemic, and some cities, including New York and New Orleans, saw masses of rats pouring into areas in search of food. Officials cited the closure of restaurants and thus the emptier garbage bins, a rat’s favorite dining spot, as the cause. Without their usual fare, the CDC said, the rats would seek out urban and suburban garbage cans, fruits and vegetables, and unattended pet food bowls. But in the Bay Area, representatives from two...
Bears have an incredible sense of smell, and when they’re hungry bears will go to some pretty crazy extremes to get their paws on a snack. Bears are also very intelligent, so once they learn that humans provide a seemingly endless supply of snacks, by way of garbage or half-eaten candy bars that get left behind, they will search out residential areas to find something tasty to eat. In this particular story, a 400-pound black bear set out to follow his nose and wandered all the way from his home in Osceola National Forest to a residential area in Alligator Point, Florida. When he was discovered shuffling through one of the residents garbage, wildlife authorities set out to capture and return the bear back to his forest home…this is when things started to go horribly wrong.   Once the bear was located authorities attempted to sedate the bear–as a 400-pound,...
