MOUNT AIRY, Md. (WJZ) — A 29-year-old man suspected in an armed robbery at a Shell gas station in Mount Airy earlier this month turned himself in to police on Tuesday, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said. Chance Allen Sellman is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Online court records show he faces three charges, including robbery and second-degree assault, in the February 5 robbery of the Shell station in the 600 block of Lakeview Road. Chance Allen Sellman. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia police officer is recovering after a crash in East Mount Airy overnight. It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at Stenton Avenue and Vernon Road. The officer was in an unmarked car and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The officer will be treated and released. The driver in the other car refused treatment.

The shooting happened inside a home on the 7800 block of Williams Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say a 21-year-old man was shot twice in the face. He pronounced dead on the scene. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are looking to identify the occupants of two vehicles in connection to a shooting in West Mount Airy on Monday. Surveillance video captured the shooting around 6 p.m. on the 6500 block Berdan Street. Police say the suspects in the two cars fired multiple times at the victims who were seated in a parked car. The victims were treated at local hospitals. The two vehicles are described as a newer burgundy Dodge Caravan minivan with New York license plates on the front and back, and a newer blue-gray Volkswagen Tiguan SUV with the driver side brake light out. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are looking for a gunman who fatally shot a 21-year-old man sitting inside a BMW next to a female passenger in East Mount Airy. The incident happened on the 6600 block of Chew Avenue just after 1 a.m. Friday. Police say the man tried to drive away and crashed into several parked cars. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The female passenger was not injured.
MOUNT AIRY, MD. (WJZ) — Police are investigating an armed robbery in Mount Airy early Wednesday morning. At around 3:45 a.m., deputies responded to the Shell Station on Lakeview Drive in Mount Airy for a report of an armed robbery that had just happened. Police learned two men entered the store, demanded money from an employee, and then fled in a grey four-door passenger car after obtaining some amount of money. The employee was injured in the incident and was treated at Frederick Health Hospital. While the sheriff’s office said only two men entered the store, they released photos of five people who may be involved. It’s unclear what roles the other three may have played. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect wanted in the murder of a 32-year-old man in the city’s East Mount Airy section. The deadly shooting happened on the 8400 block of Williams Avenue on July 31. Surveillance video shows the suspect firing multiple shots at the victim, who was driving a black SUV. The victim then crashes into a parked vehicle. The suspect is then seen fleeing southbound on the 1300 block of Mt. Pleasant. He is described as a Black man with a thin build and medium length hair. He was wearing a light gray Nike brand hooded sweatshirt with black trim at the waistband and wristbands, as well as a black zipper and black logo on the left side of the chest. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say a 25-year-old man was shot and killed in an East Mount Airy shooting Saturday night. It happened just before 7 p.m. on the 100 block of East Sharpnack Street. The victim was shot once in his back and once in his leg, police say. He was rushed to an area hospital, where police say he later died.
