The woman accused of mailing an envelope containing ricin to President Trump is also suspected of sending additional poisoned envelopes to law enforcement in Texas. The first letter was intercepted earlier this week at the final offsite processing facility where mail is screened before it reaches the White House. A preliminary investigation confirmed the presence of ricin from Canada. An unidentified woman was arrested on Sunday by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Peace Bridge crossing near Buffalo, New York.  The woman is expected to face federal charges, three law enforcement officials told The Associated Press, and is set to appear in federal court in Buffalo on Tuesday.  Authorities believe she sent a total of six letters; one...
President Donald Trump dared House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to impeach him a second time after she refused to take that maneuver off the table to stall a Supreme Court vote.  'I'm the only guy in the world that could be impeached for filling a seat,' Trump complained at his Toledo, Ohio rally Monday night, noting that he was 'constitutionally obligated' to nominate a new justice. 'Go ahead, I want them to do that.'        Trump and Senate Republicans want to push through a GOP-approved Supreme Court pick to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg before the November election, when the White House and the Senate could change hands. President Donald Trump complained Monday night at a rally at the Toledo...
The Special Counsel's investigation did find enough evidence that Donald Trump obstructed justice but Robert Mueller was too timid to write it into the final report, one of his top deputies has claimed. Andrew Weissmann claimed that Mueller 'did not deliver what he was tasked with doing' because he shied away from reaching a firm conclusion. Weissmann says that it was 'obvious' that Trump obstructed justice but Mueller utterly failed the American people by not saying so. In a new book he claims that the Special Counsel's office didn't subpoena Trump because they were afraid of upsetting the White House. For the same reason they didn't subpoena Donald Trump Jr. about his notorious June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower with...

A brawl - among other things - busted out over a cell phone at a Waffle House in the US over the weekend.  'You can always count on waffle house,' wrote the Twitter user who posted the now-viral video Saturday.  In the video, three patrons - a woman in yellow, a woman with flaming red hair and a man - are seen in the middle of yelling at a Waffle House employee who is asking them to pay their bill.    As the man demands his 'god**n phone' - which the restaurant employees appear to be in custody of - the yellow-clad woman tells a worker to hand over the phone. President Donald Trump will put forth a nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away Friday evening from complications of pancreatic cancer, “in the coming days,” according to sources that spoke to ABC News. As the Daily Wire reported Friday evening, the 87-year-old Justice Ginsburg passed away “from complications of metastatic pancreas cancer,” according to the Supreme Court. “Our nation has lost a justice of historic stature,” Chief Justice John Roberts said in a statement. “We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her, a tired and resolute champion of justice.” Speculation turned immediately to the vacancy...

Keep that bright light shining on him, Democrats. House Democrats are not exactly presenting profiles in courage these days, generally putting the impetus for stopping Donald Trump on voters. Well, gang, we're all exhausted. But you can't just count on voters to bail you out. There's real impetus against Trump right now, yes, but motivating people to vote for something is just as important. It's important because it sets up the momentum for a Joe Biden/Kamala Harris administration to jump in full throttle in January. It's also important because they're letting Team Trump get away with murder, literally and figuratively. Some investigations into the cozy deals Clown Prince Jared has been making using taxpayers’ dollars to fight the coronavirus would be...
In mid-July, with many polls showing a blowout lead for Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the presidential race, Fox News host Chris Wallace pressed his television show guest, President Donald Trump, to "give a direct answer" on whether he would accept the outcome of November's presidential election. Trump demurred. "I have to see. Look … I have to see," the president replied. "No, I'm not going to just say yes." [ READ: The Counties to Watch in Election 2020 ]Trump's reply angered many critics, who called it anti-democratic, and it served to inject another layer of uncertainty into an election process that's also been shaken by COVID-19, the administration's attacks on the U.S. Postal Service, and persistent Russian meddling, among other issues....
A Wisconsin man has filed a federal lawsuit after he was handcuffed and detained while moving into his new home when one of his neighbors called police.  In his suit, filed on Monday in US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, Keonte Furdge, 23, who is black, named the city of Monona and two officers, Jared Wedig and Luke Wunsch. On June 2, officers, who arrived while Furdge and a friend were moving in, said they received a call from a neighbor, who was suspicious that the men were on the porch. Furdge was placed in handcuffs and, after police learned he was living in the home with permission from the former owner's son, he was released and...
The View derailed on Friday after GOP House candidate Kim Klalic accused host Joy Behar of parading “around in Blackface,” prompting the hosts to swiftly cut Klalic’s interview short. Klalic answered a question from host Sara Haines about Trump’s downplaying of the coronavirus, noting that the pandemic was not handled well as a whole. She blamed the Clinton administration for allowing medical jobs to be worked overseas, adding that if there was enough medical equipment in the United States, the outbreak would have been handled better. “Come on, Kim. Excuse me, I have to say something to you,” Behar interjected. “He told Bob Woodward that it was a very serious issue, and it’s airborne and that it was terrible, and then he went out...

Waves of former officials working for President Donald Trump have consistently turned on him and denounced his conduct throughout his first term in the Oval Office, a trend that only seems to be accelerating as the November election approaches. Olivia Troye, a former aide to former Vice President Mike Pence who worked on the coronavirus task force, was the latest to condemn the president in searing terms on Thursday. In an ad for Republican Voters Against Trump, she described the president as callous to the deaths of Americans and only interested in his re-election. She likely isn’t the last Trump officials to come out against him, and she certainly wasn’t the first. Miles Taylor and Elizabeth Neumann, both former high-ranking...

A Milwaukee woman was shot five times in the head by her brother while a child in the same house attended a virtual class, according to NBC News. A school official confirmed that the other students were able to hear it all. "Everyone could hear it," Milwaukee Public Schools spokesman Earl Arms said. "It was inside the house." Mario Stokes and his sister reportedly had argued the previous night and after he allegedly gunned his sibling down the next day, Stokes called the police to inform them that “his sister no longer existed,” and that he was responsible. Stokes has since been charged with first-degree homicide and the illegal possession of a gun as a previously convicted felon.

Judges dramatically reduced bail amounts as high as $1 million Thursday that had been set this week for several people accused of crimes during unrest in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, that included protests and vandalism to public buildings. Bail for nine of 13 defendants was lowered, in several cases so they will not have to put up any money to be released, LNP reported. Bail for two defendants was reduced from $1 million to $50,000 unsecured, clearing the way for their release pending trial. Three other defendants received a $50,000 unsecured bail, allowing them to leave jail without putting up cash, but they are required to remain on house arrest until trial.  Taylor Enterline, 20, and Kathryn Patterson, 20, both had...

Pete Buttigieg announced Thursday that Win the Era is endorsing 28 candidates running for office in federal and state governments across the country. This is the PAC’s latest set of endorsements for the 2020 cycle, which aim to ‘build the bench of the Democratic Party’ by endorsing candidates identified by the group as next generation leaders, candidates running historic and trailblazing campaigns, and candidates who are making inroads in traditionally red states or districts. Among those endorsed Thursday is Raphael Warnock, Democratic candidate in the 21-candidate primary race to fill the unexpired term of Senator Johnny Isakson. The seat is currently held by Senator Kelly Loeffler. Also on the list...
The Republican Party retaking the House of Representatives is not a far-off fantasy, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Ca., told “The Ingraham Angle” host Laura Ingraham. Under House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, not many problems have been solved, McCarthy argued, and Democratic representation is dwindling. “Do you know that there are fewer Democrats in the House since Nancy Pelosi held the gavel?” he asked. “We won every special election we played in, and that was in Democrats' seats that Democrats won by more than nine points. And it happened to be in California.” MODERATE DEMOCRATS PRESSURE PELOSI, HOUSE LEADERSHIP TO MOVE NEW CORONAVIRUS BILL: 'STOP THE STUPIDITY' “The real question is, what are the results of the Democrats?” he continued. “They should be embarrassed of...
Joe Biden playing Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" from his phone's speaker before a Florida campaign event commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month belongs in the all-time pantheon of political pandering, Mark Steyn said Wednesday on "Tucker Carlson Tonight." Still, Steyn said that while Biden's latest addition to that decades-long list is memorable, it may not top the infamous efforts of former Vice President Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, or former House Speaker Samuel Rayburn, D-Texas. Only meriting honorable mention was Sen. Elizabeth Warren's, D-Calif., Instagram video of her drinking a beer and inviting her husband, Bruce Mann, to join her, Steyn said, adding that as an "effete, sinister and rootless foreigner," he can do a better folksy impression of "I'm gonna get me a beer." Video"She's out [of contention]...

Democratic socialist and "squad" member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) believes the far left of the Democratic Party will be able to push former Vice President Joe Biden to enact some of their preferred polices, should the Democrats win the presidency. Ocasio-Cortez, who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the Democratic primary, told JustTheNews reporter Nick Ballasy she agrees with Sanders' reported concerns that Joe Biden is not progressive enough for the modern left. "Of course I do," Ocasio-Cortez said. "We're different people, and clearly I, in the primary, one of the reasons why I was supportive of Sen. Sanders was because of how progressive his stances are, but, you know, the primaries are over, and right now...
The House is expected to take an important vote on Thursday, moving forward with the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. This legislation has been around for years and 30 states and the District of Columbia now have protections for pregnant workers stronger than what you’ll find in the federal Pregnancy Discrimination Act, which dates to 1978. That patchwork of state laws is one reason some big corporations are lining up in support of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act this time around. In fact, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is even supporting it.  The National Women’s Law Center makes an extended case that accommodating pregnant workers is good for business, citing the need for a clear national standard that lets employers know what they should be...

In a surprising accusation from a major Hollywood figure, comedian Chris Rock is holding Democrats responsible for the spread of the coronavirus, saying party leaders “let the pandemic come in” while they were busy pushing the ultimately unsuccessful impeachment of President Donald Trump. Chris Rock made the accusation in a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times in which he also discussed President Trump and the use of blackface in entertainment. The comedian told the Times that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional Democrats allowed the virus to spread because they were focused on impeachment proceedings. “It was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats. Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to...

Things were so tense in the White House that COVID-19 briefings and government coordination efforts would devolve into screaming matches, according to a report from Politico. The global pandemic led to disastrous consequences for the country as Americans continue to flounder to save themselves. Meanwhile, anti-mask conspiracy theorists are flocking to President Donald Trump’s events, spreading the virus more. In late August, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar decided to go at it alone as the Food and Drug Administration continued to follow long-standing guidelines on coronavirus testing. “Overriding objections from FDA chief Stephen Hahn, Azar revoked the [FDA’s] ability to check the quality of tests developed by individual labs for their own use, according to seven current and former...

Emily Cochrane and Nicholas Fandos of the New York Times wrote of the new proposal, The measure would infuse the economy with at least $1.5 trillion in new money, in addition to repurposing $130 billion from previous legislation and building in $400 billion in automatic triggers that would extend jobless aid and provide for another round of stimulus checks if the...

House Republicans announced plans for governing with lower taxes and support for law enforcement if they are able to retake the House in the Nov. 3 election. The GOP agenda included few details but a strong pledge from Republicans to steer clear of the far-left agenda they say House Democrats and their presidential nominee, Joe Biden, plan to follow. Republicans called their agenda “Our Commitment to America,” and they said the plan's objectives include restoring America to life before the pandemic, rebuilding the economy, and renewing the American dream. They provided few details, although Rep. Kevin Brady, a Texas Republican and ranking member on the Ways and Means Committee, said the GOP would make the 2017 tax cuts permanent. Minority...
For weeks, Donald Trump ordered a rag-tag mix of border patrol, U. S. marshals, and other elements of federal enforcement—none of them trained to deal with the public—into the streets of Portland, Oregon, where they upped the level of violence, grabbed people off the street without charges, and savagely beat a group of local moms trying to get them to halt their violence. After some weeks, Trump finally decided he’d done enough to generate footage for his doom-themed campaign commercials (with a few supplements) and took his beat-down squad off the streets. Understandably, Congress would like to talk to the people who thought that dragging people into unmarked vans, shooting journalists in the face, defying local officials, and filling the streets with banned chemical weapons was...

They support defunding the police, defunding border patrol, and shrinking...
Jerusalem (CNN)On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will join the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain at the White House to mark historic normalization agreements between Israel and the two Arab countries. The last time such a ceremony took place in Washington was in 1994, when President Bill Clinton looked on as Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Jordanian King Hussein signed a declaration that paved the way for a peace deal months later. For Trump, the timing is crucial. Less than two months before an election in which he trails in the polls, normalization agreements between Israel, the UAE, and Bahrain are major foreign policy achievements, even if the region was gradually...

In the wake of a new book by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, which found that President Donald Trump sought to downplay the threat of COVID-19, Gottlieb was asked if White House officials were given wrong information about the virus. “I think in this respect, the White House leadership was failed by health officials,” Gottlieb said during an appearance on CBS News’ “Face The Nation.” He continued, “We did not have a diagnostic in the field, so we couldn’t screen...
President Donald Trump has said he will 'negotiate' a third term in the White House because he's 'entitled' to it.  Trump shared his intent to run for president again in 2024 during a campaign event in Minten, Nevada, on Saturday night.   '52 days from now we're going to win Nevada, and we're gonna win four more years in the White House,' he told a crowd of hundreds of supporters, most of them not wearing masks or socially distancing.  'And then after that, we'll negotiate, right? Because we're probably — based on the way we were treated — we are probably entitled to another four after that.' Trump has repeatedly suggested that he wants to serve more than two terms in...
A former member of the National Security Council told The Kyle Olson Show that Iran prefers to have Joe Biden in the White House next year. “The Iranian regime would prefer to deal with a Biden administration,” Ambassador Robert Joseph, who served at the NSC as Senior Director for Proliferation Strategy, Counterproliferation, and Homeland Defense during the George W. Bush administration, said. “The experiences are starkly different,” he said of dealing with Trump versus the Barack Obama-Joe Biden administration. “The Trump administration has, for the last 3 1/2 years, under the policy of maximum pressure, has been placing very punishing economic sanctions on the regime,” Joseph said. The Trump administration has supported Gulf allies that have been targets of...

Bayleigh Dayton is the latest casualty on Big Brother All-Stars. The two-time player was sent home just ahead of the jury phase and was sitting on the block next to ride-or-die Da’Vonne Rogers. President Donald Trump compared his response to the coronavirus to the actions of the great leaders of World War II: Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. At a campaign rally in Michigan Thursday night, Trump defended himself after coming under fire when revelations in Bob Woodward's upcoming book 'Rage' showed he privately acknowledged the dangers of COVID while publicly telling Americans the situation was under control. Trump argued he was trying not to cause panic - a theme he kept up Thursday night, this time comparing himself to Roosevelt and Churchill, who became icons for their leadership in the United States and the United Kingdom during the war with Nazi Germany.  But his comparisons were flawed both in the historical...
Ceremonies are being held Friday morning to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in Lower Manhattan, Shanksville PA, and the Pentagon. Former Vice President Joe Biden and current Vice President Mike Pence will be on site in Lower Manhattan. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the names of those who died in the attacks will not be read aloud in person, as has been traditionally the case. Instead, the reading of the names has been pre-recorded, and will be played on tape. Biden will then head to Shanksville, PA — for ceremonies honoring those who died on United Flight 93. President Donald Trump will also be in Shanksville, however, the two will not cross paths. Trump will visit...
House Democrats plan to advance climate change legislation in the next Congress quickly if Joe Biden wins the White House in November. A Democrat in the White House and perhaps in charge of the Senate will give House Speaker Nancy Pelosi the chance to advance a liberal wish list her rank and file have been drafting for two years. Legislation to address climate change and to impose green energy initiatives is at the top of that list and will be among the first bills the House votes on in January, the California Democrat said last week. "Yes, it will be an early part of the agenda," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. Pelosi opened her weekly press conference...
(CNN)More than 190,000 Americans are dead. Millions have lost their jobs. Countless businesses are in ruins. A generation of kids hasn't gone to school for months. Yet despite knowing that the coronavirus was highly dangerous, viciously contagious and much worse than even the most severe flu, President Donald Trump delayed mobilizing the US government immediately. Worse, he refused to share what he knew and warn the American people, insisting everything would be fine.Oh yes, and it's all on tape.A dark storm that has been building for weeks over the White House — in the form of a new book by reporting legend Bob Woodward — burst midmorning on Wednesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the country will be radically different in just a couple years if Republicans don't hold onto the Senate come fall. "[Democrats] would get rid of the filibuster in the Senate, thereby eliminating the potential for any serious opposition. They’ll admit the District of Columbia as a state and Puerto Rico as a state, giving them four new Democratic senators in perpetuity. They'll pack the Supreme Court, the circuit courts, the district courts, and then they'll turn to the economy. They’ll overregulate and overtax like they always do, and America won’t look two years later like it does today," McConnell said Thursday on Fox News's the Daily Briefing with Dana Perino. Republicans hold 53 seats,...

The letters began arriving in 1961, after newspapers began reporting on Kennedy’s first official event as president, which was a reception honoring his new appointees, where liquor and wine were being served in the State Dining Room. “For the first time, there was a bar in the State Dining Room, with waiters to stir up martinis or pour vodka, Scotch, bourbon, or champagne,” The Washington Post reported. During the first stage of President Trump’s complicated love-hate relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un — the “Little Rocket Man” period — Trump’s national security team was concerned that the two countries came close to nuclear war, journalist Bob Woodward writes in his forthcoming book, Rage. “We never knew whether it was real,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, then CIA director, is reported to have said, “or whether it was a bluff.” Defense Secretary James Mattis took the threat seriously enough to sleep in his clothes and frequent Washington National Cathedral, CNN recaps: Mattis told Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats that Trump is “dangerous” and “unfit” for the presidency, Woodward reports, and he quotes Mattis describing the...

It would also provide $105 billion in education funds and $15 billion for child care grants, $20 billion in farm aid, and $500 million for fisheries, according...

US President Donald Trump addressed a rally on Thursday amid allegations that he called those who died in the war ‘losers’. During a visit to Europe, Donald Trump has denied reports that he was branded a “loser” and “absorber” who died in the US war, and is said to have avoided coming to the grave where he believed he was not important. The U.S. president argued on Thursday that “no one did what I did” because he mocked his election opponent, Joe Biden, for wearing a mask in the midst of a corona virus infection. Deadly, actually. Happy almost-Labor Day! I know we’re all anxious to get on with our holiday weekend (for those lucky enough to get to enjoy it), so I’m going to get right to the point. Two months from today, Democrats across the country have their very last chance to prevent Republicans from controlling the next round of redistricting. In most states, the legislators elected in November will play a role in drawing congressional and state legislative district lines. These lines will impact the quality of our democracy for the coming decade. These lines will either affirm or usurp voters’ ability to make meaningful choices at the ballot box. These lines will help determine the balance of power in our nation for...
Johnson & Johnson's coronavirus vaccine candidate prevented severe illness in a small group of hamsters, the drugmaker said on Thursday.  In the pre-clinical study, vaccinated animals lost less weight and had less virus in their lungs and other organs than unvaccinated animals. Hamsters that received the vaccine, called Ad26-S.PP, produced neutralizing antibodies, which health experts believe is vital to build immunity against COVID-19. What's more, none of the inoculated hamsters experienced severe outcomes such as pneumonia or death. It comes as the White House fervently denied that anyone from the Trump administration is putting political pressure on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve a vaccine before the November 3 presidential election.  Johnson & Johnson tested its coronavirus...
