    By: KDKA-TV News Staff SWISSVALE (KDKA) — A man is recovering after having been shot in the chest in Swissvale early on Sunday morning. Allegheny County Police say that their General Investigation Unit was called for assistance after County 911 dispatchers were notified of a shooting along Denniston Avenue in Swissvale just after 1:00 a.m. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was transported to an area hospital, where he is expected to survive. Allegheny County Police detectives are continuing to investigate.

Just after 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, Allegheny County 911 dispatchers were notified of a shooting along Mortimer Avenue. First responders found a 24-year old man who had been shot. Shortly before midnight on Sunday night, Allegheny County 911 dispatchers were notified of a possible shooting along Franklin Avenue in North Braddock. A 29-year old man was listed in stable condition after being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. County Police detectives are investigating and have determined that the shooting took place earlier in the evening on Sunday. On it’s Facebook page, the Sheriff’s Office say that people received a call supposedly from them related to an outstanding warrant. The scammer will then ask the victim to pay them with a money order or a gift card. The Sheriff’s Office is telling people to not give them money or personal information. They also want people to know they will never ask for money this way. They ask you to contact them if you received one of these calls.

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Beginning on Friday, July 31, Allegheny County will be baiting raccoons in the area to ensure the animals receive vaccinations for rabies. The county says that this program has been effective at reducing human and pet exposures to rabies over the past 19 years.     PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Allegheny County Health Department says they are keeping more restrictive coronavirus safety guidelines in place while they review a new order from the governor’s office. Gov. Tom Wolf announced restrictions Wednesday on bars, restaurants and large gatherings. Those restrictions include shutting down nightclubs, closing bars unless they offer dine-in meals, and limiting those bars and restaurants to 25% capacity. The focus this week is on testing after 20,000 tests were done since July 1.
