WE learned in March and April that if everyone bought as normal, and only what they needed, there would be no shortages. That is the best way to make sure there will be food in the shops next time you go. 7Boris Johnson's empty promises and frequent U-turns are eroding public trustCredit: AP:Associated Press The real problem is that people have lost faith in the Government to make the right decisions, triggering a mentality of “everyone for themselves”. For those in the market (or at least hoping to be soon), signing a long-term lease just doesn't make sense. People need the flexibility to move quickly should a suitable house hit...

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday allowed health officials to hide their addresses under a California state program designed to protect people from harassment or violence. LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It's the hottest new thing in home schooling: the pod. Small clusters of kids distance learning together.Efrat Brayer's year old daughter, Malka, is home-schooled. The curriculum allows for quite a bit of socialization with other homeschooled kids. All that ended with COVID, until Brayer says another mom invited her daughter to join a pod."It is important for her to have this and you know to also be engaging with other kids," said Brayer. But some health experts like pediatrician Dr. Nicole Herzog warn learning pods aren't as risk free as you might think."One of the main misconceptions about pods is that if you're seeing the same children every day, you're in a bubble, and you're safe," said...
Bodycam footage has shown a Washington state cop telling partygoers 'the key is out of sight, out of mind' and advising them to move their maskless event indoors in order to avoid penalties for breaking COVID-19 gathering rules. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want Joe Biden to become the next President of the United States. They haven't actually said that in so many words. But it's very obvious from a video message they released last night via Time magazine which way they want the result of the election to go and it's not in Donald Trump's direction. Meghan, a US citizen and well-known Trump-hater (she's called him 'divisive' and a 'misogynist' and once told me herself how much she loathed him) said: 'We're just six weeks out from Election Day and today is National Voter Registration Day. Inmate firefighters have battled some of California's most destructive wildfires, including the Thomas Fire, the Mendocino Complex Fire, the Ferguson Fire, and the Camp Fire. But for years, most former inmates who had received firefighting training were ineligible to become professional firefighters; their criminal records prevented them from getting the state license necessary for employment. But Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, a Republican, will not change rules that only allow one drop box for each of the state’s 88 counties, spokeswoman Maggie Sheehan said. “Today’s ruling didn’t change anything, and the secretary’s directive remains in...

Australia's Prime Minister has warned Facebook and Google he 'doesn't respond well' to threats after the tech companies lashed out at a new law to make them pay for news content.  Canberra's legislation, drafted by the competition regulator, demands that the multi-billion dollar Silicon Valley giants negotiate fees with news companies whose stories appear on their websites.  In response Google threatened that it would charge Australians for using its search engine and Facebook warned it would block users from sharing news stories. Speaking on Monday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said: 'I'm quite certain we'll come to a sensible outcome on this and it won't need coercion wherever it comes from. It's not something I respond very well to.' The battle...

On Thursday, both FTR members appeared on Excuse Me: The Vickie Guerrero Show, where they discussed various topics regarding their time in WWE and their current stint in AEW. As quoted by Wrestling Inc., Guerrero complained about how hard it was for her to get her ideas through to McMahon, noting that there’s “something seriously wrong” with a system of communication where performers have to “go through so many...
A second grader left her mother red-faced this week when she grabbed a bottle from her parents' liquor cabinet for show and tell.  Meghan Maza Oeser from Mokena, Illinois, looked in on her daughter Penny while she attended the first day of class on Zoom on Monday and stopped in her tracks when she saw the little girl holding up a bottle of Malibu rum. Prosecutors allege that Fitting downloaded technical drawings and manuals related to US military weapons systems and sold them to Newport Aeronautical Sales Corporation - a company in Newport Beach, California that sells technical aircraft data. Two paranoid parents in Sweden locked away their three kids in separate rooms for four months — and even nailed the front door shut — to protect them from catching the coronavirus. The extreme measures began in March, when the outbreak first hit the Scandinavian nation and the parents yanked their kids out of school, the Telegraph reported. A civil court in southern Sweden found that the couple, originally from Vietnam, kept the children — two girls ages 17 and 15 and a boy, 10 — in isolation until July 9. That’s when authorities found them isolated in separate rooms, where they continued their school work online. “The parents even nailed planks over the front door and there has even...
The Cleveland Cavaliers picked Danny Green as the 46th overall pick in 2009. That was the same team that housed a young LeBron James playing in his peak. However, Danny could play only 20 games before he was waived. Today, he is a key Lakers player.  Danny Green is one of the most consistent names to have appeared in the post-season. The NBA Playoffs 2020 marked his 10th consecutive outing. He has got two NBA rings and has played in three NBA Finals. Two of these finals had him (Spurs) play against The Akron Hammer (Heat). Green brings tremendous experience on the table when it comes to handling pressure. He needs this art today more than ever, with every...
Three more women have come forward accusing Chris D'Elia of sexual misconduct, claiming the comedian exposed himself and masturbated in front of one of them on separate occasions without their consent.  In a report published by CNN on Wednesday, actress Megan Drust claimed D'Elia, 40, pleasured himself in her car after asking for a ride home from a restaurant in 2011.  Drust, who was 26 at the time, said she had considered D'Elia an 'acquaintance' and agreed to give him a lift after having dinner in West Hollywood with a mutual friend.  But things took a troubling turn once the pair entered her car, Drust said, as she recalled seeing D'Elia lean against the door and look at her in...
(CNN)When Disney first revealed John Boyega as a stormtrooper in "The Force Awakens," he immediately became the target of racist comments from "Star Wars" fans protesting the casting of a Black person in the role. Now, six years later, with the latest trilogy completed, Boyega is speaking up about his time working on the franchise. And understandably, he doesn't seem too happy."What I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side," he said in an interview with GQ UK that was published Wednesday. Boyega was referring to his character Finn, a former Stormtrooper who played an...

Before the last US election in 2016, I was a rather lonely voice in consistently suggesting Donald Trump might win. In fact, I was regularly mocked, derided, abused and dismissed by ‘serious’ political pundits for even suggesting such a preposterous notion. Democrats were so certain Hillary Clinton would triumph they never saw the Trump Train steaming towards the White House until it ran them over at the ballot box. Well, not ALL Democrats. One of the few to agree with me was filmmaker Michael Moore, one of the most vocal liberals in America. Before the last US election in 2016, Piers Morgan consistently suggested Donald Trump might win. One of the few to agree with him was filmmaker Michael Moore,...
Facebook today threatened to block Australians from sharing news stories on its website if it is forced to pay for them.  The move is in response to an Australian law that would force Facebook and Google to negotiate fees with the news companies whose stories appear on their websites - with fines of millions of dollars if they fail to comply.  But Facebook said today it would 'stop allowing publishers and people in Australia from sharing local and international news on Facebook and Instagram' if the proposal becomes law.  One expert said Facebook wanted to kill off Australia's initiative to stop it spreading to other countries where the financial impact would be more severe.   The social media giant says it...

Over the weekend, Harris and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden condemned the violence seen in recent days, specifically in Portland, Oregon, where one person was shot dead Saturday night. “I join @JoeBiden in condemning this violence. This can not — and must not — be who we are....

"Please paint me!" the note said, calling their house an "eyesore." Jimmy, 71, said he was "very upset at first," not because of what the letter said, but that whoever wrote the note "didn't have the nerve to sign it."He said they knew their house had fallen into disrepair, but various health issues had recently prevented him and his wife from doing large home improvements....

'For 47 years, Joe Biden took the donations of blue collar workers, gave them hugs and even kisses –' Trump then paused mid-sentence as the 1,500-person audience laughed and cheered. Trump concluded his thought with: ' – and told them he felt their pain.' 'And then he flew back to Washington and voted to ship their jobs to China and many other distant lands,' he accused. In 2016, roughly 58% of Americans voted in the presidential election. That statistic doesn’t tell the entire story because around the country those rates vary considerably, particularly in urban areas where wait times are, by Republican-design, much longer, the results of decades of intentional voter suppression and voter disenfranchisement. This year, Election Day falls on Tuesday, November 3, and some companies are doing what the federal government has failed to do: make Election Day a paid company holiday. A business-led movement called Time To Vote, has reportedly gotten commitments from more than 600 companies to make sure that their employees have time allotted to allow them to vote, with many notable corporate leaders like Best Buy, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Walmart, REI Co-op, Patagonia, Warby Parker, and others. ...

Some parents in Massachusetts told the Boston Globe they were reported to the state's Department of Children and Families for neglect when their children were absent from remote learning sessions too often in the spring, when they were scrambling to adjust to the new realities of COVID-19. The schools, in many cases, failed to provide a well-coordinated learning plan for the lockdowns. Still, dozens of parents interviewed by the Globe say schools reported them for potential neglect because of absences, without...
