November 24:

With COVID-19 related issues leaving the Denver Broncos without a quarterback for Sunday’s game against New Orleans, practice squad receiver Kendall Hinton was thrust into the starting role and got a quick lesson on just how tough the position can be. Hinton played quarterback in college but his first NFL start went pretty much as anyone would expect as he finished 1-for-9 in passing for 13 yards and two interceptions in a 31-3 loss to the Saints. The 23-year-old, who made his NFL debut on less than 24 hours’ notice, said he only had time to learn about 20-30 plays ahead of kickoff. “Coming in I knew that I had no idea what the state of the game was like. I am familiar with our concepts but it’s a lot different from quarterback,” said Hinton. “We knew it would be a tough situation but it was a challenge I...

The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Tuesday, November 24 features Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). He spent some time with his daughter at the cliff house. Steffy was tired of Liam’s ranting and said that she was sure that Thomas was over Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle), per SheKnows Soaps. Steffy said that it could only benefit Thomas to be spending more time with his son. At Thomas’ apartment, Hope had decided to stay for dinner. She sent Liam a text message letting him know of her plans. In the meantime, Thomas seemed to be preoccupied with the mannequin. At one point, Hope asked him if he was okay when his vision blurred. 1. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended against traveling for Thanksgiving. Still, many college kids are expected to head home for the holiday. What can parents do to prepare, and to stay safe? Start with “a frank and honest discussion with your student about their recent activities and potential for exposure,” infectious disease expert Dr. David Cennimo tells Lifehacker. This will inform your risk assessment. If the kids do make it home, make sure to set strict rules for their visit: No indoor gatherings with old high school friends this year, please. Eat outside if possible, and if it’s not, spread out and wear masks. “Families also may want to consider re-introducing the ‘kids table’ this year for students returning home or who are at in-person schools to keep them away from family members...

Gotham went 24 hours without a shooting for the first time in months on Monday. The relative peace came amid a drastic spike in gunplay this year, and on the heels of 13 people being shot on Sunday — including seven at a Sweet 16 in Brooklyn — and six people shot on Saturday. As of Monday, 1,704 people were reported shot in 1,386 separate incidents — nearly double last year’s count at that time. The NYPD could not immediately say the last day that no shootings were reported. The victory was short-lived, as a man shot two cops who came to his house on a domestic violence call before being shot dead himself on Tuesday.ShareFacebook Twitter Pinterest Linkedin ReddIt Victoria-Gosling RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Uncategorized‘Selling Sunset’ star Davina Potratz plans to spend the holidays in Germany UncategorizedNYC teachers’ union boss wants mayoral control of schools ended UncategorizedTennessee...

(CNN)With the holiday season around the corner, European countries are announcing looser restrictions to accommodate Christmas celebrations. But that's a very risky move, according to the World Health Organization, which warned that if community transmission is still high, the safest bet is to meet virtually. "I think the point is that there's no zero-risk here right now," Maria van Kerkhove, WHO's technical lead for Covid-19, said yesterday. "We are in the middle of a pandemic, and many countries unfortunately are in a very difficult situation with increasing case numbers, with hospitals full and with ICUs full." In Germany, a draft proposal would allow up to 10 people to celebrate Christmas and New Year's together, CNN affiliate n-tv reported. In the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said national restrictions for England will end next week, despite relatively high numbers of cases and deaths in recent days. While there are no confirmed details on...

ON THIS DAY IN 1918, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported, “Influenza is now the world’s greatest foe. It is more deadly than war itself. The United States Government has found this to be the case. The Bureau of Census, investigating the recent epidemic that swept not only over all of this country, but over most of the entire civilized world, found that deaths in America, properly chargeable to influenza, were far greater in number than deaths from all causes among American troops in the great conflict. Official figures, available from 46 large cities in the country, show that 78,000 persons died as a direct result of the epidemic of influenza. The figures cover the period from September 8 to November 9. Twitter has actively censored six of President Donald Trump’s posts over the 24 hours between Thursday midmorning and Friday. Twitter’s censorship can lower the engagement of a Trump tweet by more than 80 percent, according to one recent analysis of their performance. Over the past 24 hours, social media platform Twitter has censored six of the President’s latest posts, and will likely censor more as the President raises doubts over voter fraud. Just yesterday Breitbart News reported that of President Trump’s 22 posts on Facebook and Twitter, 11 were censored by the Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe. Now, Jack Dorsey’s company has censored a further six tweets by the President, dramatically lowering their engagement. Twitter hid posts on the President’s timeline and warned users that “some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process,” and...

Denver is still searching for a way to balance new businesses and industry diversity within legal marijuana as a city advisory committee wraps up discussions on future marijuana licensing policy. The city's Marijuana Licensing Work Group — a 24-person panel created earlier this year to advise the mayor and city council on potential marijuana delivery and hospitality businesses with a social equity lens in mind — met Tuesday, September 29, for the fifth time to discuss the future of Denver's marijuana licenses. Although much that future still looks hazy with no scheduled meetings left and the recommendations scheduled to be delivered to Mayor Michael Hancock and the Denver City Council by November, there was some resolution in future social equity matters. Marijuana delivery and social consumption were legalized at the state level earlier this year, but the laws allow local governments to opt in or out of the new license...

Nancy Pelosi said Russia still poses the biggest threat to election interference as she claimed Sunday Moscow is spending all day, everyday in efforts to hurt Joe Biden's chances of getting elected. 'Russia is actively, 24/7 interfering in our election,' Pelosi told CNN's State of the Union Sunday morning. 'They did so in 2016, and they are doing so now,' the House Speaker continued. 'The American people, I believe, they should decide who the President of the United States is. Not Vladimir Putin making that decision for us.' Despite Pelosi's assurance that Russia is the biggest threat to U.S. elections, National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien said Sunday that the government has maxed out on its ability to sanction Russia to defer them from interfering in November. 'There's almost nothing we can sanction left of the Russians,' O'Brien told CBS News' Face the Nation Sunday morning in his first interview since...
