Getty The Bears have signed DT Daniel McCullers off the Steelers' practice squad. The Chicago Bears just got quite a bit bigger. According to the latest list of league transactions released by NFL Draft Diamonds, the Bears have poached defensive tackle Daniel McCullers off the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. He will provide depth at nose tackle, particularly with Eddie Goldman choosing to opt out, and his replacement, John Jenkins, currently dealing with a thumb issue. The Bears will be getting a big body on the line in McCullers, who is 6’7″ and 352 pounds. He was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and he spent his first six seasons in Pittsburgh....

Yesterday seven-year veteran nose tackle Dan McCullers terminated his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, leaving a surprise opening on the team’s 16-man practice squad. With an eye toward possibly filling that vacancy, the Steelers had free agent wide receiver Cody White in for a visit on Tuesday, as per Houston Texans beat reporter Aaron Wilson and Tuesday’s NFL workouts/visits report. Dan McCullers has been a backup nose tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past six-plus seasons. But it appears his time with the black and gold has come to an end. This afternoon his name appeared on the NFL transaction report under “Contracts Terminated By Player.” Per NFL transaction report, Steelers DL Dan McCullers listed under "CONTRACTS TERMINATED BY PLAYER" category. Andy Lyons/Getty Images Ben Roethlisberger #7 of the Pittsburgh Steelers shakes hands with David DeCastro #66. The Pittsburgh Steelers are seen as having an advantage over most other NFL teams entering the 2020 season as they have experienced little turnover in terms of coaches and starting players since last year. But that stability probably won’t extend to the offensive line, which is likely to see three new starters in the season opener versus the New York Giants, as All-Pro right guard David DeCastro is expected to miss the game with an injury, this according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Five-time Pro Bowl G David DeCastro not expected to play against NY Giants and will be...

On Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers added 14 players to their 2020 practice squad, bringing back many of the players who were released a day earlier. None of the players added could be considered a surprise, except perhaps punter Corliss Waitman, though this could be related to reports that the team plans to sign Dustin Colquitt, son of former Steelers punter Craig Colquitt, who collected two Super Bowl rings with Pittsburgh in the late 1970s. On Monday the Steelers filled one of the two remaining vacancies on the practice squad by adding running back Wendell Smallwood, so there are now two RB’s on...

One of those players is safety Curtis Riley, who had been released to make way for the return of safety Sean Davis, who left Pittsburgh via free agency earlier this year but was re-signed today. Davis is fortunate to land on his feet with his old team, as is quarterback Josh Dobbs, who is back with the Steelers after getting released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Other former Steelers...

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Quarterback Josh Dobbs and safety Sean Davis have reunited with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team claimed both players off waivers on Sunday, a day after they failed to make the 53-man rosters elsewhere. Dobbs was cut by Jacksonville — which traded for Dobbs last September — while Davis was let go by Washington. Davis played 48 games across four seasons with the Steelers after being selected in the second round of the 2016 draft. His 2019 season was cut short by a shoulder injury suffered in a Week 2 loss to Seattle. The Steelers acquired Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Dolphins a few days after Davis was injured, and the Washington, D.C., native signed a one-year deal with...
