NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio had previously said that the city will need to bring in 2,000 additional teachers, bringing the total number needed to 4,500 if in-class and at-home live learning was to be successful.  Chancellor Richard Carranza told parents leaders on Wednesday night that talks were underway with City University of New York to hire laid-off adjunct professors and graduate students, yet no further details were offered on how the mass hiring is expected to take place in less than two weeks. Both LSU and Oklahoma are the only two teams to post seasons above .500 for the past 20 consecutive years and that’s a remarkable stat. Two of the best college football programs over the years have no question been the Oklahoma Sooners and LSU Tigers. Entering the 2020 campaign, both programs have high expectations, and LSU is fresh off its perfect 15-0 season. Things ended for the Tigers with their National Championship win over Clemson. But, just how good have the two teams been over the past 20 years? Believe it or not, they’re the only two programs that have finished above .500 for at least the past 20 campaigns. That stat is head-turning. ???? Only @OU_Football and @LSUfootball have...

Golf’s highest-paying major will take place this week. The 2020 U.S. Open features not only the richest purse among golf’s majors, but also the richest winner’s share. The first recipient of that profitable payout is Gary Woodland, who made over $2 million last season by winning the event with a score of 271 (13-under-par). That said, look for golfers such as Dustin Johnson (2020 FedEx Cup playoffs winner), Brooks Koepka (winner of the 2017, ’18 U.S. Opens) and more to challenge for that payout this season. Again, even golfers who finish at the bottom of the cut line will make a pretty penny (by non-golfer standards); last year’s last-place finishers made over $21,000. Below is the full breakdown of...

Such an idea has gotten a strong endorsement from team owners as an “overwhelming majority,” is already on board. Strictly from a marketing and financial standpoint, it makes sense. More playoff affairs mean more televised games, which means more revenue on top of a lucrative TV deal that reels in over $700 million for Manfred and MLB. And that comes in an...
New York (CNN Business)America's booming stock market is a flawed yardstick for measuring Main Street's recovery from the pandemic. But that doesn't stop President Donald Trump from repeatedly pointing to the V-shaped rebound on Wall Street as proof that most Americans are doing well again."Stocks are owned by everybody," Trump said during Tuesday's town hall on ABC. "Look, we're having a tremendous thing in the stock market, and that's good for everybody, but people that aren't rich own stock and they have 401(k)'s." In my previous technical analysis published last week, I offered you a chart chart for the price of Bitcoin, highlighting the support zone at $ 9600 / $ 10,000 and resistance at $ 10,500. Support for Bitcoin at $ 10,000? The market remains under the influence of the fall session of September 3, linked to the fall in star values of the Nasdaq, which have since partially recovered. The BTC also recovered and built a little impulse rise, in a reduced volume, with the breach this week of resistance at $ 10,500. This resistance corresponded to the highs of February 2020, before the stock market shock linked to Covid-19, as well as to the upward acceleration...

Key technical factors of the article: Bitcoin’s price held its support at $ 10K well and broke the resistance at $ 10,500 yesterday. On a technical level, Monday’s bullish impulse can be described as rather soft and above all, it must be shown that the $ 10,500 has resumed its role of support, it is not certain. In my previous technical analysis published on Cryptonaute, I returned to the positive correlation between the dynamics of stocks and crypto assets. The indices held their support, the price of Bitcoin effectively did the same by proposing a rebound...

New York (CNN Business)Recent record highs for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are not indicative of what's really going on with the broader market, which is this: Most stocks are still having a pretty tough 2020.Sure, the S&P 500 is up about 3% so far this year. That's not bad, especially given all the volatility in the market and the severe slump in the economy since March because of coronavirus. However, the index is is weighted by market value. That means that the strong performances of the five tech giants that dominate the blue chips -- Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft (MSFT), Google owner Alphabet (GOOGL) and Facebook (FB) -- distort the S&P 500's overall return. It's one reason some half-jokingly...

I support drawing down the troops. But here’s the problem, we still have to worry about terrorism and [the Islamic State],” Biden told military newspaper Stars and Stripes in a phone interview. Biden supports a “small U.S. military footprint” whose primary mission would be to facilitate special operations against the Islamic State in Iraq or Syria (ISIS), or other terrorist organizations, according to the paper. Biden said there should be a “maximum” of 1,500 to 2,000 on the ground, but did not specify where he meant. Trump has...
Bitcoin’s price is neutral between $ 9,600 and $ 10,500 and seems to be dependent on stock dynamics, especially since the increase in volatility on the Nasdaq. Key technical factors of the article: Bitcoin’s price is neutral between $ 9,600 and $ 10,500 and seems to be dependent on stock dynamics, especially since the increase in volatility on the Nasdaq. On a technical level, the price of Bitcoin must exceed $ 10,500 to become bullish again. As for XRP, the $ 0.23 seems to be a good support. In my previous technical post, I came back to the stabilization of the Bitcoin price, between the support at $ 9,600 / $ 10,000 and the resistance...

London (CNN Business)The United Kingdom, which is one of the few countries to report monthly GDP data, said on Friday that its economy grew by 6.6% in July compared to the previous month — putting it on track for record growth in the third quarter. All good? Not exactly. The growth was slightly slower than in June, when the pace of expansion was 8.7%. And economists say that future gains will be much harder to come by."July was probably the last of the big step ups in activity and a full recovery probably won't be achieved until early 2022," said Thomas Pugh, UK economist at Capital Economics. The trend could be replicated in other large economies around the world. The end...

It is fairly obvious that NASCAR races are long, and there is a slight chance of tediousness. To combat that, the governing body has done its level best to implement changes to raise the excitement factor. However, Kevin Harvick recently spoke about 500 mile races. He believes that these kind of races should only be limited to NASCAR’s crown jewel events. “There’s no reason that any race outside of a ‘crown jewel’ race is longer than 500 miles,” Harvick said. “It’s not something that is really even necessary in today’s day and age.” In NASCAR terminology, a “crown jewel’ race somewhat resembles a signature event in the sport. One example is the Indianapolis 500, which is the crown jewel for...
