Charley Gallay/Getty Images for Breeders\ Cup Actor Taylor Lautner attends the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in 2016. The Bachelor is often a springboard for its contestants’ fame. Yet Kit Keenan, daughter of acclaimed designer Cynthia Rowley, grew up around the limelight. A recent New York Post article about the New York native revisited the more than a decade old photo of her with actor Taylor Lautner.  He rose to fame for his work on The Twilight Saga, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Valentines’s Day and Scream Queens. The photo featured an 11-year-old Keenan alongside Lautner. According to Getty Images, the photo was taken on June 28, 2010, at The Cinema Society & Piaget’s after-party for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The event took place at the Crosby Street Hotel. Lautner is by no means the only notable name with which she has...
Jay Glazer added the most fuel yet to the Drew Brees retirement talk. He said on Fox’s pregame show that he believes the Saints’ NFC Divisional round game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was going to be Brees’ last game at the Superdome and that he would retire at the end of the season. “Drew Brees, tonight will be the last game he plays at the Superdome,” Glazer said. “And whatever his last game is, if they lose tonight, if they lose next week that will be the last game he plays in the NFL. I really believe this is it.” When pressed by his Fox colleagues, Glazer took a stronger stance on the future Hall of Famer’s football future. “No, that is it,” he said. “Drew Brees will be done. That’s it. Tom Brady will continue. Drew Brees, this will be his last game in...
It didn’t take Luka Doncic long to pass Michael Jordan on this all-time list. No, Luka Doncic hasn’t passed Michael Jordan on any “greatest players of all time” lists just yet. He’s only in his third season. But he did pass the GOAT on one impressive all-time list, and it didn’t take him very long to do so. In the Dallas Mavericks‘ game on Sunday (against the Chicago Bulls, ironically enough), Doncic recorded the 29th triple-double of his career. That was enough to pass MJ on the NBA‘s all-time triple-double list, and the 10th assist to notch that triple-double was a thing of beauty: Luka goes behind the back twice ???? His 29th triple-double passes MJ on the all-time list ???? pic.twitter.com/pPyoSZ4IB0 — SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) January 17, 2021 Luka Doncic has already passed Michael Jordan in triple-doublesTo be fair, the triple-double craze has taken flight in recent years in a...
In yet another strong offensive display, Aaron Rodgers helped the Green Bay Packers secure a spot in this year’s NFC Championship game. The veteran quarterback was at his destructive best in Saturday’s Divisional Round Playoff win over the Los Angeles Rams. Rodgers was unstoppable on all fronts as he went 23 of 36, throwing for 296 yards with 2 passing touchdowns. He also had a rare rushing touchdown in the second quarter, which would have made Lamar Jackson proud. All in all, the Packers did enough as they sealed a deserving 32-18 win against the Rams at Lambeau Field tonight. But there was another stat from their game tonight that will interest the Packers’ fanbase in Wisconsin. Yankee News/Rumors: Two pitching prospects could be impactful this season By: William Parlee January 17, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe New York Yankees got a huge pick for the starting rotation this week, signing two-time Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber to the pitching staff. The Yankees now have a true number two starter behind ace Gerrit Cole, at least at the start of the season. With Domingo German ready to start the season and Luis Severino coming at some point in the first half of the season, the Yankees starting pitching is looking a lot better than it did just a week ago. There is also scuttlebutt that says the Yankees are also looking for even more upgrades, talking to the Cincinnati Reds about Luis Castillo. As well as things are looking for the starting pitching, the bullpen is a different situation. The Yankees have...
THERE’S a reason why Liverpool versus Manchester United has never quite been the English ‘Clasico’. That’s because, quite unlike Real Madrid against Barcelona, English football’s two grandest clubs have rarely gone head-to-head in the white heat of a title race. 7After a woeful start to the season, Manchester United are now three points clear at the top of the leagueCredit: Getty Images - Getty 7Liverpool have not been at the same levels as last seasonCredit: Reuters In fact, only once in the 21st century have they previously done so - in 2009, the year of Rafa Benitez’s ‘FACT!’ rant and Fernando Torres roasting Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford, but United still edging out their most bitter rivals. That is what makes today’s Anfield showdown such a monumental occasion. Even without the usual soundtrack of fear, loathing and pure hatred which usually accompanies it, this is a red-letter fixture of rare...
TSA weighs barring hundreds from flights, steps up security before inauguration Trump trial pending, McConnell calls it vote of conscience This incredible stat might be a good sign for Urban Meyers NFL coaching career Plenty of very successful college coaches have jumped to the NFL and struggled to replicate their previous success. There are definitely some people who believe Urban Meyer will be one of them. © Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports Meyer accepted the Jacksonville Jaguars head-coaching job on Thursday, setting him up for his first jump to professional football. There’s no way of knowing how successful Meyer will be at this level, but there’s one stat that could bode well: the number of Meyer-coached players who are still playing in the NFL. #Jaguars coach Urban Meyer is new to the NFL, but not new to players in the NFL. Aaron, meet Aaron. And Aaron. Aaron Donald, the unanimous All-Pro defensive tackle who owns a couple of Defensive Player of the Year awards, certainly hopes to meet fellow All-Pro Aaron Rodgers on Saturday — in the Packers’ backfield. Donald hopes to put the star quarterback on the ground a few times, too. Same for when Green Bay running back Aaron Jones comes in the vicinity of the Los Angeles Rams’ dynamic D-lineman. For the Rams to have a strong chance of advancing to the NFC championship game, they need Donald and the top-rated defense he anchors to, well, sink the Pack. “He’s a special, special player,” Rodgers says. “Obviously a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Impact player every single year, a guy that you have to game-plan for, have to be aware of where he’s at at all times, and just one of those special talents that we haven’t seen...

A succession of watches of all kinds, classic and current, mark a key hour. It is clear, we are in the present, in 2020, and It is 8:00 p.m., an unforgettable time for the Spanish who live in confinement for the coronavirus crisis. The Influenza Surveillance System in Spain (SVGE), made up of epidemiologists and virologists from the autonomous communities, the National Epidemiology Center (CNE) and the National Center for Microbiology (CNM) of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), has detected, until January 10, just five flu viruses in the 2020-2021 season in all of Spain. Michael Jordan was arguably one of the best players NBA has ever seen. In his 15-year-long career, Jordan acquired many individual accolades and also set many records of his own. One of the unique records that MJ set was that of most points scored in a playoff game when he dropped 63 points against Larry Bird and the Celtics. In the 1986 Playoffs, the Bulls faced an Eastern Conference juggernaut in the Boston Celtics. Jordan who had missed the majority of the season with a broken foot somehow made it before the Playoffs. This was only the MJ’s second year in the league, and he was going up against the mighty Celtics and 1986 MVP Larry Bird. The Celtics were coming off of a record season where they won 67 games and had 15 losses. The series started with a MJ masterclass as he scored 49 points in...

This season feels the most important for the Islanders in a long time By: Rob Taub January 14, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditThe journey for the Islanders towards the franchise’s fifth Stanley Cup begins tonight. Excitement and anticipation for this year has been building for months now, but now the real thing begins. So let’s be real. And what that means is acknowledging that the Isles are about to embark on their most important campaign in recent memory. “I think for the team, the same thing goes, we were close last year, we had a taste of how close we can get to playing in a Stanley Cup Final,” Mathew Barzal said last week. “I think that it didn’t sit well with us afterward.” The past two years have been wonderful and brought pride and respectability back to the franchise. But now the dynamic...

If you watched Netflix’s spicy Regency romp Bridgerton over the holidays and thought, “Well gee, I’d love to be a young lady/gentleman seeking a prosperous match by navigating a polite but ruthless society,” you’re in luck: there’s a game for that now. Available on itch.io, The Social Season is a one-sheet TTRPG designed to recreate the intrigue of Regency social season, where you play as family members trying to save their reputations by striking advantageous matches. Social Season creator Scott Sexton tells News Brig he was inspired by game designer Lysa Penrose’s stream of The Haunting of Good Society, a ghostly take on the popular Jane Austen RPG Good Society. Sexton wanted something quick and simple, and when he saw Justice Arman’s Convertibots, inspired by Grant Howitt’s popular one-sheet TTRPG Honey Heist, he tapped into that genre. In the game, players aren’t restricted to roles as would-be debutantes —...

In light of the coronavirus cases rising within the NBA, the league decided to postpone certain games, keeping in mind health and safety protocols. They postponed games like the New Orleans Pelicans versus Dallas Mavericks, and then the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls matchup. Now, the Utah Jazz vs Washington Wizards game has also been postponed. What are the current NBA rules? Unlike last season, the NBA tried to bring back some normalcy and conduct games like they always do, but without an audience and social distancing and safety rules kept in place. Initially, even though players showed some discontent over the season starting so soon, not going to the Bubble must have been a relief. Now, new rules state that both symptomatic and asymptomatic players who test positive for COVID-19, need to sit out for at least 10 days and get a green signal from health screenings before they...
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Last year, the Bartz brothers of New Brighton sculpted a giant whale out of snow. The year before that, they made a humongous snail. When the Super Bowl was in the Twin Cities, they made a massive snow lobster. This year, they put up Christmas lights. After a decade of creating impressive snow sculptures each winter, Austin, Trevor and Connor Bartz said that they needed a break this season. The brothers made the announcement on Facebook. No longer do they live together in New Brighton. Trevor and his wife live in Prinsburg in west-central Minnesota. Connor and Austin own a landscaping business. Over the years, the brothers’ sculptures have raised money for charitable causes. Last year’s masterpiece, Walvis the Whale, helped the brothers raise more than $60,000 for One Day’s Wages, which provides clean water for people in developing countries.

She wrote in her column for the BBC: "Players are often so used to only having male coaches, so we should celebrate the fact we have so many female leaders in the WSL. "That includes Manchester...

The Rangers have remained resolute in their commitment to the February 2018 rebuild that was so famously announced. The Stanley Cup drought, now going on a halfway-to-54, 27 years, is not likely to end this season. But the playoffs are not only within reach, but should be a realistic goal for the organization. Beach passes for the 2021 season are already sold out for one Jersey Shore town. The 5,500 passes that were allotted for this year were on sale for $110 in December, NJ.com reports.  Not many knew the passes were on sale, as they had been announced last month in a newsletter, read mostly by locals. Even more frustrating to residents, more than half of the passes were allegedly sold to out-of-towners. An announcement on the Spring Lake website says the borough reached its sales total, which equate to the numbers sold during Summer 2020. "Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing Pandemic we will not be selling or waitlisting any further Seasonal Beach badges at this time," the site says.  "Pool Facility Lockers and Badges will be going on sale during the early part of 2021." Daily $10 passes will be available come beach season.

Now, with the NBA season rolling on, teams are reportedly starting to look in other directions as the Rockets’ tone on...
Getty Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis. It hasn’t been a perfect start to the season for Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles Lakers star has already missed two games with a calf injury is only averaging 22.9 points per game. The shortened offseason is likely playing a big factor in his early struggles but it could also have to do with his offensive decision making. Dan Favale of Bleacher Report recently suggested that Davis might be relying too much on jump shots on offense: Davis’ attraction to jumpers hasn’t stopped here. His mid-range frequency has skyrocketed—mostly at the expense of his volume around the rim. Just over 25 percent of his shots are coming from point-blank range, a share that would comfortably rank as a career low. In theory, this seems awkward, verging on problematic. Davis has never been the most efficient shooter. In practice, it isn’t an...
PREMIER LEAGUE clubs are adding 'Covid clauses' into new contracts which include PAY CUTS if fans are banned from stadiums beyond this season. Clubs in the top-flight and EFL are scrambling to protect themselves financially should the pandemic worsen. 2Premier League clubs are considering adding 'Covid clauses' to players' dealsCredit: Reuters Many teams have already been crippled by the loss of matchday income, with the EFL receiving a £250million bailout in December. But a number of clubs are concerned they could be left stranded should the situation surrounding coronavirus get even worse. The new strain of Covid has run rampant across the country, with the Government imposing a third full lockdown. And football clubs have not been immune from outbreaks, despite strict protocols. No fewer than 40 Premier League players and/or staff members returned positive results from their Covid tests last week, more than double the previous record of 18....
CBS All Access From the moment she arrived on Star Trek: Discovery, Tig Notaro won over fans with her portrayal of Jett Reno. The engineer’s dry wit and deadpan humor made her accessible and endearing. Reno’s heartstring-pulling backstory of surviving a crash landing, losing her partner, and keeping her crew alive for several months before they were rescued also drew fans to her character. However, it was her cutting back and forth banter with Anthony Rapp’s character, Paul Stamets, that many fans loved the most. Their exchanges were often the only moments of levity in an otherwise deadly serious season. With the third season all wrapped up, fans are curious to know whether Tig Notaro will be reprising her role in the fourth season. Will Reno be in Season 4? New York Giants: What will Leonard Williams’ contract look like this offseason? By: Alexander Wilson January 11, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditIf there’s anyone more deserving of a contract extension than Leonard Williams after the 2020 season, please let me know in the comments. The New York Giants will have a hard time letting go of one of their most productive players on defense, especially after a breakout campaign when he recorded 11.5 sacks and 30 quarterback hits, a career-high in both categories. Williams had never breached 7.0 sacks before the 2020 campaign, but under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, he realized his talents and dominated in the trenches. Because of that, Williams is in line for a massive contract that will significantly burden the Giants’ cap space but also ensure they retain one of their most efficient and valuable assets. The trenches are one...
Gullak 2 Review: A middle-class family faces, struggles and learns many lessons as they go about their lives. Gullak‘s first season in 2019 explained those beautifully and the new one puts together some more ‘Kahaniyan nahi kissey‘ as the narrator asserts. (Photo by Rob Leiter via Getty Images) The Bears managed to claw their way to a playoff berth this season, but they need to add quality free agents in the offseason to repeat that feat in 2021. Chicago can’t afford to rest on the laurels of squeaking into the playoffs this season. If Matt Nagy wants to stay with the Bears for the long haul, he needs to secure an infusion of free agent talent this offseason. The question of who will be the team’s starting quarterback next season will dominate the headlines. Mitch Trubisky’s late-season run gives him a chance to head into 2021 as the team’s starter. The smarter move...
Experienced NFL wide receiver Davante Adams is having one hell of a season with the Green Bay Packers. The former Fresno State man has been at Lambeau Field since 2014. But he has truly hit his peak since September, finding a strong connection with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The pair has made some dazzling plays over the course of the season as they won the NFC North title with a 13-3 record. Rodgers has labeled the 28-year-old wideout as ‘one of the best teammates’ he’s ever played with. Adams has 1,374 receiving yards with 18 receiving touchdowns in 15 appearances this season. He will be key for the Packers as they gear up for a crunch postseason, a stepping stone to the elusive Lombardi Trophy. ALSO READ- Deshaun Watson Pushing for Move Away from the Texans? Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest player to take to the basketball court. To back that claim, his fans frequently point to his 6 Championships with a 6-nil winning record in the NBA Finals. While he is also one of the few players to win both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year trophies. To put it into perspective only Michael Jordan, David Robinson, Kevin Garnett, Hakeem Olajuwon and, Giannis Antetokounmpo have achieved this recognition. And to further separate them, only MJ, Giannis, and Hakeem completed the double in the same season. However, the Chicago Bulls guard was the first to conquer this previously unheralded feat. Pete Carroll’s Seattle Seahawks got off to a flying start in September as they started the season with a 5-game winning streak. Russell Wilson barged his way into the NFL MVP conversation early on, along with Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen. BRUNO FERNANDES says Manchester United need Paul Pogba if they are to lift silverware this season. Pogba's future was thrown into doubt last month when agent Mino Raiola declared the Frenchman's second spell at Old Trafford was 'over'. 3Bruno Fernandes believes Manchester United need Paul Pogba to achieve their collective aimsCredit: AFP or licensors But he has been in fine form of late after recovering from the effects of coronavirus. Pogba hit a stunning goal in the 3-1 win at West Ham at the start of December and won the crucial penalty, which Fernandes converted, in the New Year's Day win over Aston Villa. The victory took United level on points with Premier League leaders Liverpool, with a game in hand on the reigning champions. And Fernandes believes a fit and firing Pogba could help the club land their first top-flight title since 2013. The Portuguese said: "It shows you...
ABC Peter Weber. For some people, going on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette is a ton of fun and it’s a great experience. However, things aren’t always sunshine and rainbows when you’re secluded away from your family and friends. In an Instagram story Q&A posted over the weekend, Hannah Ann Sluss talked about how she had a hard time while filming Peter Weber’s season, despite falling in love with him. “What is one thing you wish you knew before going into ‘The Bachelor’?” Sluss was asked. “There’s not really a lot that I wish I knew because, you know, nothing can prepare you for it. But I wish, if I had to say one thing, I wish I knew how hard it would be to leave this one,” she said, turning her phone camera on her best friend, Baskin Champion, who was with her. “I literally cried every...
Chuck Barney’s TV and streaming picks for Jan. 10-16 DON’T MISS: “WandaVision” — We don’t really know what to expect from this trippy new series, but we’re definitely intrigued. “WandaVision” takes characters from Marvel’s superhero comics world and movies and plops them in retro locales reminiscent of those in TV classics such as “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “Bewitched” and “The Brady Bunch.” Picking up after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” it reunites Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) with the android Vision (Paul Bettany). Together, these super-powered beings live idealized suburban lives, but begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. (Friday, Disney+). Low and behold, the Buffalo Bills have a star in the making with Gabriel Davis. When looking at the Buffalo Bills’ future, Josh Allen will be the name most fans remember. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been named a Second Team All-Pro by The Associated Press after a stellar performance during his rookie season. It makes him the only rookie to be selected to either the First or Second Team All-Pro this season. He’s also the first Vikings rookie to get the honor since Cordarrellle Patterson was selected to the First Team All-Pro as a kick returner in 2013. Jefferson, who was the fifth wide receiver selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, had a record-setting season in 2020. Most notably, he broke the 18-year, Super Bowl-era rookie record for receiving yards, 1,400. He also set Vikings rookie records for receiving yards, receptions (88), and 100-yard games (7). Should the New York Giants look to trade Evan Engram this offseason? By: Alexander Wilson January 8, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditIf only New York Giants tight end Evan Engram had better hands, he would be an All-Pro level player. Engram has been one of the more polarizing players for the Giants since being drafted back in 2017. The Giants have already picked up his fifth-year option for 2021, but some might argue he should be a trade candidate this off-season after a tumultuous 2020 season. Interestingly, Engram was tapped with a Pro-Bowl nod this past year, finally playing in all 16 games after dealing with injuries in his first three seasons. Oddly, he wasn’t much more productive than any other year, he just remained healthy. He recorded 654 yards and just one touchdown, the lowest scoring year in his career. In addition, he recorded the...
The Buffalo Bills Were One Of The Most Dominant Teams In The NFL This Season; But How Will That Translate In The Playoffs? By: Olivier Dumont January 8, 2021 ShareTweetFlipRedditSince the year 2000, the Buffalo Bills never managed to attain more than 10 wins in a single season up until now.  After three straight Super Bowl visits from 1991-1993 and a handful of dominating playoff appearances in the years to follow, the Bills fell from grace once the 2000s rolled around and struggled to figure out how to put together a winning season for the next 15+ years.  Ending their 17-year playoff drought in 2017 with a 9-7 record to show for, it was uncertain whether this was a sign of hope or merely just a fluke. But ever since 2017, a lot has surely changed.  Following a disappointing exit in the playoffs,...

Through their first 5 games, the Warriors were 2-3, yet, all three losses had each been by 25 points or more. Golden State began the season behind the proverbial eight ball as their All-Star guard Klay Thomspon tore his right Achilles on Draft Day. Even more so, their rookie center James Wiseman, who they drafted the day of Thomspon’s injury, plus former Defensive Player of the Year and star forward Draymond Green both missed training camp after testing positive for coronavirus. Having both players out, and Green to start the season, forced other Warriors into more minutes which could be one of the reasons for their lackluster play. Others would be the shooting...

(CBS Pittsburgh) — The NFL made it through the regular season without missing a game. Some were delayed or rescheduled.
